Another GPD/RPD Scandal Swept Under The Rug?

From Lonsberry.com:

"A seemingly intoxicated Rochester police investigator drove his little boy home, left him there unattended, drove back to a party, blacked the whole thing out, drove yet again, and then refused to cooperate with officers searching for his son.

And with a deputy chief in attendance, the Greece Police Department did not charge him with anything.

And you only know that now because that dishonorable conduct pissed so many other cops off. "

SCATS ~~ If it weren't so terribly disturbing, their behavior could almost be described as clownish!

Is It REALLY A "Shooter Drill" ...

... Or Is It Just Political Theater From The Reilich-led GOP?

Shooter Drill TONIGHT

Tonight's Entertainment Bonanza will be at Wegmans MtReid store.
Sheriff OFlipper's SWAT goons in conjunction with the MeChief SWAT Team will conduct a barricaded store takeover in the dark of night, and the public will not be allowed near the fiasco. OFlipper may be there for media purposes, if he can stay awake and find the store.

The people paying for this show should think of it as a group of overpaid Trick or Treaters in Darth Vader costumes on a rampage until the video can be edited and published just in time for Election Day, unless things go bad.

How Wegmans thought this is a good idea is baffling given previous incidents of grocery borrowing by members of MCSO, such as the Yasback self service checkout of meat concealed in his clothing. Possibly Wegmans employees who remember have retired. There is also the important question of doughnut and bagel production for morning shoppers to be considered.

At this time no announcement of an on scene ADA has been made by Sandy Baby's Office, then again, her peeps might not be invited given their track record on scene in the dark.

Limited seating is available in the CVS parking lot for the general public to watch large sums of taxpayer Dollars be expended on Police Overtime. Please don't fly your drone over Wegmans property, it might really screw up this well thought out event.

Notice how Greece Central was actually smart enough to keep their high value athletic facilities and appurtenant structures clear of this fiasco. GCSD Grads, administrators & employees may use google to learn what appurtenant means.

Greece Schools: Dirty Politics Still At Work

Anonymous Anonymous said...
You may need a new thread for this one. About 20 minutes ago i was at a traffic light on Black Walnut & Maiden Lane. In front of me was a Greece School District white work van. On the back the van there was a sticker stating "Vote NO" on the Constitutional Convention. I don't care what a person's position is on this but using taxpayer funded property to promoted one position over another is against the law. I will have to go out to check to see what other taxpayer owned property has these stickers on them.

Greece's New Impound Lot Disappears!

Anonymous Greece Highway Union said...

Where did the Auto Pound go?

KimJungBill spent a ton of taxpayer dollars building it over behind the Library, right there on Town Hall Castle grounds.
He even went the extra mile and installed privacy slats so his friend's cars wouldn't be exposed to public ridicule for being in the Pound.

Last weekend, some men in green trucks slipped in and took the fence down. A Red Town truck caught them in the act, along with another camera not controlled by KimJungBill.

Where did the fence go?
Is it now at 299 Swamp Rd protecting all of the County's surplus asphalt millings hauled there by R&W after the Town loaded them?

Were any cars ever held in the Pound?
Was there a payoff to go back to private towing contractors impounding cats?

WHAT'S UP FOLKS?

Is the Dem candidate for Supervisor looking into this?
He was a Detective for years, surely he can find the answers.

He really needs to expose this disappearing act.   9/01/2017 4:20 PM

Arcadia MS: Construction Problems "Discovered"

WHY did it take from the early March windstorm until the end of August to "discover" this problem?

Was this another construction "error" on the part of those same companies that FAILED to provide safe buildings during repairs/construction in the 1990's?

How much will the "fix" cost taxpayers this time?

How will we know there are no more "hidden" issues with our school buildings??

From GCSD: As you may be aware, Arcadia Middle School’s roof was damaged during the March windstorm, and it is currently being replaced. Employees at the school recently discovered an issue with the fireproofing material installed on the underside of the roof deck above the second floor interior suspended ceiling. In some areas, sections of the fireproofing material have become dislodged. To ensure the safety of our students and staff, an outside engineering firm was hired to determine how widespread the issue is. Their preliminary findings, shared with the district on August 22, showed several areas of significant damage, as well as other areas of concern.
The fireproofing material in question was installed at the time the school was built (1993), and we are investigating the cause of the current issue. Based on the information we have, it is possible that all of this material might need to be removed from the second floor ceiling. We have not yet determined the extent of the problem, but in the interest of safety, we cannot use the second floor at this time.
With the start of school less than two weeks away, we are working to find solutions that keep all students and staff together on the Arcadia campus. There is still work to be done and questions to be answered. We will share our plan with sixth grade families during sixth grade orientation at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, in the Arcadia High School Auditorium. There will be two additional information sessions for parents of seventh- and eighth-graders on Thursday, August 31 – one at 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
We are committed to opening school on September 6 as scheduled and will share more details as they become available.

Reilich Faces Ethics Complaint By Leary

Nitti's Lawsuit Ties Into Leary's Case Concerning Political Meetings Held At Greece Town Hall

In his ethics committee letter, Leary also noted that several members of Greece town staff hold additional political positions, "the intermingling of which may have led to this abuse of government property."
Of note, he said, Reilich is not only Monroe County Republican Party Chair, but also vice chair of the state Republican Committee; Commissioner of Public Works Kirk Morris is also the town's GOP leader; town attorney Brian Marianetti is majority leader of the Monroe County Legislature and Chairman of the Greece Republican Committee; and Greece Deputy Supervisor Michelle Marini is also a committee member with the state Republican Committee as well as treasurer of the Greece Republican Committee.

It's no secret that our supervisor seems to LOVE seeing himself or his name in print. Keeping with that, in the most recent edition of the Town of Greece newsletter (Taste of the Town ... he's NOT!), Supervisor Bill Reilich's name appears 24 times (first, last or both) in just 16 pages. We didn't count his pics ... perhaps a different day.

Leary Switches Party To Challenge Reilich

FORMER GPD COP BECOMES
DEM. TO RUN FOR
GREECE SUPERVISOR

Anonymous said...

Democrats draft retired cop, and enrolled Republican, to challenge Reilich

When retired Greece police officer Jim Leary announced Monday that he would run for town supervisor as a Democrat, he became the second enrolled Republican to switch parties in the hopes of upending a GOP incumbent.

Leary will challenge Supervisor Bill Reilich's bid for a second term. While his former chief, Todd Baxter, previously announced a run against Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn.
"You can sit on the sidelines and be a complainer," Leary said. "But if you want to change things, you have to get in the game."

The 61-year-old said he had been a Republican all his life but became dissatisfied with the local party, which controls all elected offices in town. He did not talk to Baxter before deciding to jump into politics, he said, but took encouragement from his decision to change parties.

Democrats hope to field a full slate of candidates for Greece town offices this fall, he said. Republicans hold a slight enrollment advantage, Board of Elections records show.
Leary is born and raised in Greece, where he lives with his two daughters. He lost his wife to cancer several years ago. He has been a volunteer firefighter and ambulance member and worked in other capacities, including sports leagues and local boards.

If elected, he said, he would "bring a culture in which I will have both an open door, and an open mind." Added Jamie Romeo, chairwoman of the Monroe County Democratic Party: "For too long, Greece Town Hall has operated as a surrogate office for the Monroe County Republican Party, rather than a resource for the residents in town."

Reilich, 60, countered by listing off various projects, from recreation to a new police station, a town Fourth of July celebration at no expense to taxpayers, and that he had not raised the tax rate while in office, adding: "I don't hear anybody really complaining."

"We're taking care of residents' needs," Reilich said. "Just ask anybody that lives on the lakefront."

Petition Seeks Overturn of Plan 2014

Anonymous Anonymous said...
To Stats: Maybe this could be a new heading?

Town of Greece creates White House petition to overturn Plan 2014

Supervisor Reilich took office January 1, 2004. His quote on "Today (1/1/14) is the day my team and I commit to serving the Town of Greece. I want to take a good town and make it great once again."
He knew of the waterfront policy of 2014, which is devastating to the Residence of the Town of Greece along Lake Ontario.
At that time he needed to start a petition drive. He needed to prepare a memorizing resolution opposing the plan, similar to what Maggie Brooks, her administration, the Town Board and Councilman Antelli did to oppose the wind turbine. They were not installed along the lake front.

Supervisor Reilich is closing the barn door after the horse got out…perhaps if he would pay more attention to the Town of Greece and their needs, instead of spending his time politicking as Chairman of the Republican Party, this could all have been avoided!
He is trying to promote too much too LATE.

The Sheeple of Greece Should Be Ashamed!

As we predicted BEFORE the BOE changed the voting locations, Greece's taxpayers stayed home by the thousands! Only 2539 showed up at the polls! Could this be a new record setting LOW TURNOUT?? Largely, today's voters were likely the in-school vote ...  district employees, PTA promoters & sports booster types.

Here's the results of the vote:

Budget – passes, 1,740-799
Proposition 1: Bus proposition – 1,653-868
Proposition 2: Bus purchase capital reserve – passes, 1,678-861
Proposition 3: District clerk proposition – passes, 1,836-658

Hey SCATS.

That so called sand bag filler got hauled back to the Democrat side of the River because Reilich has NO GRAVITAS in the political world. When the machine left, so did the ready supply of sand bags and sand, but there will be more Monday, if you can float to the Town Garage.

Meanwhile, the Highway guys who want to help can't till Bill gives the OK. Bill's doing his best, AT GETTING ON CAMERA while Edgemere drowns. We got more help in 72 when nobody knew the hurricane was coming a month in advance.    4/30/2017 3:31 PM

The Spread Of Illiteracy

Today, 40% of Greece students OPTED OUT from taking the state's English Language Arts (ELA) exam.

Does it matter? Probably not. Soon, it will be the blind leading the blind ... or perhaps more succinctly stated: the illiterate leading the illiterate in NY State.

The Regents recently decided that a teacher literacy exam was discriminatory, so they eliminated requirements for new teachers to take & pass the exam!

" ... just 46 percent of Hispanic test-takers and 41 percent of black test-takers passed it on the first try, compared with 64 percent of white candidates."

If that isn't bad enough, then consider this: "A December 2016 study by the National Council on Teacher Quality found that 44 percent of the teacher-preparation programs it surveyed across the country accepted students from the bottom half of their high school classes."

Given that, neither students, nor teachers will be able to read & comprehend this BLOG in NY State within a decade!

Give That "DUDE" A Raise!

While watching tonight's news, a story about Lakeshore Elementary students thanking utility workers for their hard work after the windstorms caught our attention.

Principal James Palermo spoke to the reporter, as can be seen at the 50 second mark in the video contained within the link below.

http://13wham.com/news/top-stories/greece-students-thank-utility-workers

It's not what he said that grabbed our attention. It's how he's dressed!

Since when did it become part of professional attire for a school principal to wear a gray t-shirt with "DUDE" in big black letters across the chest? It wasn't field day! And he wasn't being taped to the flagpole again, either.

Apparently his salary, that's just shy of $100K/year, isn't enough to allow him to dress appropriately for the position he holds.

Give him a raise ... and a class on dressing for the job.

Reilich Should've Called On CERT/Special PD Volunteers

We can't help but wonder WHY WEREN'T CERT* TRAINEES & GREECE SPECIAL POLICE USED FOR THIS (or some other) PURPOSE?

They've already been trained and provided with basic equipment by first responders within the Greece community!

Tax dollars paid for their training, so why waste this valuable resource?

Are Odyssey & Olympia Merging?

 Anonymous said...
Off topic as I do not know how to start a new topic (so Scats feel free to start this as a new topic if that is the right thing to do) but I have heard several Odyssey and Olympia students state that those schools are to be merged into one. At least 3 students for each school, independent of each other, have passed on that news onto me in since mid-December. Any truth to this from what you or your blog readers have heard? My first question back to the students was whether there was going to be re-alignment of the schools making one a middle and the other the high school. Or was there going to be consolidation of the physical facilities. The students did not know the answers to these questions of course...

Fire Taxes Continue To Skyrocket

Fire Districts Continue

Thumbing Noses @ 2% Cap

Received our tax bill today – town taxes stayed the same. !!! Fire district (Barnard) tax levy only went up 6.7% !!! We are sooo thankful as last year it went up 11.4% – that’s over 18% increase over a 2 year period. At this rate in 2 years we will be paying more in property tax for fire service than we pay to run the whole rest of the town. Companies seeing these figures will be fighting to come here. Makes ya proud doesn’t it? Interested to hear what other fire districts increase is.
