the video can't be seen can you either fix it or give us more details on this

To 7:35AM ~~ I've checked it on different browsers. It appears to be working fine. Try clearing yours. It is posted (for now) on http://www.whec.com/news/machete-attack-greece-charged/4142618/?cat=565

They described it as follows: "Pearson is accused of swinging the machete and hitting another person. In a video, which was posted on Facebook, the victim appears to have been cut by the weapon on his hand."

Hey SCATS I thought this blog was all about the school district. If so why are the results of the budget and school board election
not been posted two days after the fact?

SCATS said...

To 1:37PM ~~ We looked for the results the night of the vote. Except to sat the budget passed, there were NO results posted. If GCSD doesn't give a damn, why on Earth should we?

Scats pretty lame response to 1:37. One more reason for you to hang it up. It also might be time for you folks to put up the for sale signs
if you think Greece is a Ghetto .perhapsat least one of you might reside in close proximity to the part of town with more incidents of this kind.

SCATS said...

To 10:01AM ~~ It's more than slightly amusing that you want us to "hang it up" when readership has literally SKYROCKETED in recent months! LMAO

So please tell us all, WHICH part of town has more "incidents of this kind?" People who don't live here say Greece has gone ghetto based solely upon the crimes reported on the news. And they don't even include the political "crimes" that are unethical ;)

The facts don't support your conclusion. If you go strictly on media reports,,reported crimes out side the city of course the honors definately go to the Town of Gates. Check it out as I did. Gates is way ahead of other towns in violent crimes per capita by a wide margin. Greece doesn't even come close in that formula and category.

SCATS said...

To 3:06PM ~~ LMAO @how the politicians have YOU fooled!! In Gates, the police chief & town supervisor don't care about "bad press." In Greece, they treat it like leprosy. The truth is, there's LOTS of crime you haven't heard about that happened in Greece. If it weren't for a video taken by a witness and uploaded to Facebook, none of us would know a damn thing about the machete incident Sat. night.

If you want to know WHAT'S REALLY happening in Greece, sit your arse in a chair at Greece Town Court some Wed, Thurs or Fri afternoon and watch as they line up latest "alleged" felons to hit town. You'll be amazed. You might even be scared ...

And you know this how? Your really all wet about the supervisor not caring about bad press. He intends to run again against Louise forr her
Legislative seat. He don't need bad press as supervisor of the town with highest number of violent crimes. Going back many years Greece
Has always shyed from bad press thru a news management system. I had a TU reporter tell me over 40 yrs ago that Greece was the toughest town to get any news comments from town officials. So there is really nothing new going on that changes that philosophy .
As for the courts they do represent the changing demographics of the town. But that's reality but I personally don't feel threatened or scared
by this fact My personal reaction as it was in the past and still is today, if you look for trouble,it will find you.it might be wise for you to develop this attitude as there is nothing that you can do to change the course and future realities that await this town.
There still remains no cure for cancer only ways to slow its progress. The same is true with the status quo in Greece. Slow it down contain and manage it is the only way possible.

To 6:11PM ~~ Boy, are you confused ... or maybe on meds you shouldn't be. First of all, Greece is THE LARGEST TOWN in the county. More people = more crime. We've got 104 & 390 running through the center of things. The mall became a ghetto years ago. Our politicians have been corrupted even longer. Look at Auberger & his failed campaign promoting us as "the safest" city in the USA! WHAT A FREAKIN' JOKE THAT WAS!

Sitting and observing court proceedings is a fascinating hobby - been, there & done it. Now, I watch who I pass on the sidewalk, in the parking lot and who is in front & behind me in line at the stores. Just this week, I was shopping for a new electronic toy when the experience was interrupted by a middle-aged guy who was loud, obnoxious, in-the-face of the patrons & clerk, etc. It was pretty obvious he was on coke, as he continually snorted while bellowing his inane political messages.

As for cancer, there are SOME forms that are essentially curable. There will never be "a cure." Cancer represents around 200 different diseases. There will need to be as many "cures."

FURTHER PROOF... GCSD just announced it's policy for the last 3 weeks of school is hands off, no code of conduct enforcement, don't write referrals, don't engage impudent students, and most of all - please don't piss off the PARENTS of Ah013$ who are now entitled to dictate policy for the remainder of the year(and probably henceforth)! Student and staff safety for the vast majority is now forfeited so that the handful of CRAP that we are going to tolerate can peddle their Inner City Racial hatred in your suburban public school.

SCATS said...

To 6:45PM ~~ TY for the heads up. I'll take my gun with me if I venture within 1/2 mi of a Greece HS. Just in case. And yes, I know enough not to step on school grounds with it.

Anonymous said...

A cat with a gun? Sounds pretty scary to me To 6:45 shame on you for your disgusting racial comment. You represent every thing wrong with our country . Take your hate some where else.

Scats thank you for making my point in my comment. Look again as I addressed the size of Greece vs Gates when I used the term Per Capita when comparing crime rates the point was that given that fact, their violent crime rate per capita still exceeded that of Greece Per Capita. As for your geography lesson, access to Greece by 104 and 390 are more than eclipsed by the fact that Chili Ave RT 31, Buffalo Rd
Extension of Main Street city, RT 33 and Brooks Ave All with direct connections to inner city neighborhoods with the town of Gates. All walking, running, skate board ,Bus and vehicle distances to Walmart at Chili Ave and Howard Rd. Granted, 390 and 104 are convenient
Escape routes back to Inner City after a day of "shopping " at the Mall.

To 10:48AM ~~ People need to learn that there's a HUGE difference between a racial slur AND a comment that mentions an issue dividing the races. In the case of 6:45PM, everyone is aware that by NOT dealing with those who are STEALING SERVICES FROM GCSD, we've made life very tough for the kids who are here legitimately. Sadly, the kids who don't belong here ARE mostly from a specific minority group. I'm sorry, but it's NOT "hate" if the facts are the facts and name-calling is left out of it.

To 11:09AM ~~ Thank you for bringing up our mall! I intended to do that before. It provides a place for shoplifters, auto thieves, vandals, pickpockets, purse-snatchers, drug dealers and other felons to go (it's their "destination" much like TGIFriday's might be yours or mine) to do their crimes. The shoppers are sitting ducks - a captive audience - just trying to get some new sneakers for the kids when they end up victims.

TY also for mentioning bus routes! Both the mall & Walmart are on these quick-escape paths to & from the inner city neighborhoods. For that we can blame our politicians who let RGRTA change the routes around for the CONVENIENCE of those folks.

Spend that afternoon in Greece Town Court and you will hear that the mall & in the vicinity of the Walmart on Dewey Ave. are the MAIN locales for the perps of the aforementioned trouble.

To 10:48
My comment has nothing to do with race! WHAT IS YOUR ASSUMPTION ABOUT MY RACE? A walk in my 63 year old shoes would be worth discussing your lifetime of placing your head in the sands of ignorance. I am not biased, AGAIN, MY RACE IS... And YET I have saved and been saved by people of many ethnicities since 1972. In places you cannot pronounce and probably cannot locate using Google.
To 8:32 SCAT's
I work there. I know it's a felony. And I have a pistol and long gun in my car every day!

4:45 Good for you! You sound like a very insecure person . Perhaps it has to do with age related issues that require that much fire power in your vehicle to feel safe . I on the other hand prefer to leave my legal hand gun at home and not in my car. The day that I feel it necessary to carry a gun in my car when driving around town is the day I relocate. I'm sure your background has taught you that sometimes a gun can
lead to unintended consequences for you as well as others . As for my response to your original comment allow mr to apologize to you as I took your meaning out of context .Sorry!

Anonymous said...

You can only be as safe as with what protection you can provide for yourself. I also carry every day, everywhere I go. The Police are minutes away - your life can be forfeit in seconds. I don't believe that 4:45 is insecure, but really maybe experienced, maybe well trained, and may even be close enough one day to save your or one of your relatives lives. At a Valero, Durand, Tops, Hospital or bar parking lot, etc., etc.

To all parents... Tomorrow might be a good day to keep your kids home and safe. Sounds like there's going to be a serious staff shortage across the district. Teachers, admin, support. Let's get ready for some rumblesssssssss!

To 5:02PM ~~ Time to start counting the days until school is out, huh?

Anonymous said...

Yep returning this summer to neighborhoods near us instead of school grounds... Unless you lived out by Hilton last year during summer school. Sheriffs nearly every day in their bus loop. Do you suppose Athena will be hosting the sheriff's this year?

Anonymous said...

Reporting on intercepted Greece radio of multiple guns at Athena today... Corroborated by Greece police radio responses. 3 cars responding. Anyone care to corroborate? Arrests forthcoming should be Public Info.
