Dogs Attack, Kill Pet In Its Own Home

13WHAM News Reports:
"Sharon Cimo and her husband left the backdoor of their Greece home open on Thursday. Something Cimo says they usually do for their two small dogs when the weather is nice.

"Unfortunately, my husband has arthritis and he couldn't get off the swing fast enough," said Sharon Cimo as she described how a large dog broke through their back gate and chased their five pound, seven-year-old Chinese Crested dog named Missy, through the yard and into their living room.

"I'm still in a shock, it's just, I probably would have been upset if it happened in the yard, but in the house, just in the house," said Cimo. "I guess the worst part is I feel, we feel so bad it was in our house. I just never expected dogs to be attacked in my house."

The dog's owner followed to help, Cimo said he had another dog with him.

In the struggle to get the first dog off of Missy the second large dog ended up joining the attack.

"Once the second dog snapped her neck it was over, they [the dogs] got up and walked out like it was an everyday occurrence to them."

Missy's injuries were so severe she had to be put down the same day.

Greece Animal Control is investigating. According to Greece Police, the dog owner is expected to be cited for various town and state violations related to the case.
Cimo said the dogs' owner contacted them on Friday, paid for their vet bills and surrendered the two dogs that attacked Missy."

SCATS ~~ We hope they sue and win. Too many dog owners are out of control.

"As Sharon tried to help her dog, a teenager and a second pit bull showed up in her living room. The second dog joined in on the attack. It was over in a matter of seconds.

"Both dogs just whoosh, calmed down like they were just okay, turned around and walked out the door," says Cimo.

The teenager followed."

Somebody needed shooting in that living room!
