At least there are four candidates and two are not attached to GTA. Melore is running again to keep GTA happy, she's on all their committees and does their bidding for the board. We need to get her off. O'toole is not running again, which is a blessing no more of her long winded explainations, that no one can understand. Do the district a favor only vote for the two new candidates...get rid of Melore, we don't need a GTA patsy on the Board.

To 11:36AM ~~ So it's OK to keep the other GTA patsy on the BOE?? I think it's time to make sure Oberg spends plenty of time with his bride. He's been on the BOE long enough.

I'm not impressed by the other candidates based upon their resumes. Parents can't effect meaningful change in a public school. Their children will pay the price should they try.

Let me see, I bet GTA comes out and endorses her as their candidate. And you have to know Olympia will be all about voting for Melore. Her daughter works there and makes sure everyone knows shes the board members daughter. The board has become a jumping point for everyones kid to work in the district. Julia's kids got summer jobs and Melore's daughter has a full time job. Must be nice. We need new blood. Only vote for 1&2.

To 7:42AM ~~ I suggest everyone vote NO on the budget and bus Prop. Show them no support for BOE.

Because a no vote is what is best, yea right.. that will fix what exactly? Kind of like Trump is going to make America great again. He and is no plan just a good stump speech I'm going to build a wall and make America great and people like you are going to follow right along with the same fools that bought hope and change. A no vote accomplishes nothing except Greece becomes a laughing stock again. All the Districts in the county are going to be very similar in there budget increases, but Greece will be the only one where the vote is close. The housing market is starting to take off again as the Y generation is starting to buy and Greece homes will be left out because our District is in limelight over a budget that is comparable to all others. People will buy in Hilton, Spencerport, Gates etc to avoid issues of Greece community that you perpetuate.

You guys are still chumming about Julia LOL. Hasn't it been almost 2 years now since she has been gone?

12;22 have you had your eyes open the last 10 years?

Even in the Hilton and Spencerport School District portions of Greece, new homes are NOT being built. Cross Manitou Road into Parma and homes went up. Greece side, only a fool will build.
Greece is the home of abandoned developments with 2 houses, sidewalks and WEEDS. Take a look at Hawks Landing off N Greece Rd, the Developer can't even dump the model on a sucker. Town won't enforce WeedMowing either. That mess is 8 or 9 years old, Hilton Schools.

Greece is a Money Pit!

To 12:22PM ~~ Do you think anyone on the BOE is there "to fix" what's broken?? I have yet to see that since Anne Miller ran in the early '90's! A "NO" vote shows lack of support for the status quo. BTW, Greece hasn't stopped being a laughing stock. It's the one thing they excel at. Because of that, home sales will never be what you claim.

To 2:22PM ~~ She was such a trend-setter lol

Greece housing taking off get real. Did you read the article about zombie homes? Take a ride down Stone Rd and the streets that run off of it. Take a ride up and down Dewey Ave. You sound like one of the Real Estate BS artists that serve on the Assessment Review Board. Greece Schools are the result of decades of Union Control. Costs keep going up enrollment keeps going down and the Union whining gets louder and louder. As far as I am concerned the GTA and it's officers should be prosecuted under the federal RICO Statute. The assessment review board should have all of its positions vacated and staffed with ordinary citizens not real estate "professionals" whatever that is ( really kind of like used car salesmen).

To 2:22 pm, Melore has taken Julia's place, sticks her nose every where it doesn't belong, shows up at schools for every event, hob nobs with all the administrators. She just wants to be seen and be with "important" people. Little or no regard for students unless they are in the chorus or a play. Vote 1,2 only.

SCATS said...

To 11:56AM ~~ There are THREE seats up for election, so there will be THREE "winners." Why endorse any of them? What makes 1 & 2 worthy of support?

Anonymous said...

11:56 AM You hit the nail right on the head. She is super important in her own head. Needs to know everything and have nose in everything. No longer an employee but walks around Arcadia like she is, thinks she should be included in all the Arcadia events. No more Melore, get her off the board, go away!

Haven't seen any BOE members visit Olympia. Used to, and even got asked questions about "how things were going, and what could be done to improve things". Sadly no more. Even more sad, daughters momma only showed up to tout her daughters new $5K food shelf for those thieving Welfare scammers we already sustain with FREE OR REDUCED LUNCHES THAT THE SCURVY TURDS THROW OUT!

SCATS said...

To 5:18PM ~~ HUH?? What new food shelf?

Momma Melore is always around for a photo op or if her daughter is involved so she can make sure she is protected, or if an administrator is involved. Why should she be asking how things in a school can be improved. Leave the schools alone, mind your own business and stay away. Vote 1&2.

Board Candidates is Monday night, 6:30 pm. Go check out these people and decide who is the best of the worst.

To 10:02AM ~~ Listening to Candidates' Night is like listening to Charlie Brown's teacher ... " mwhah mwhah mwah ..." Do what a friend does. Print out the candidates pics. Tape them together in a circle. Use darts. Do while blindfolded. Easier yet, don't bother with candidates since they really don't matter anyway.

We have all been frustrated with the changes and challenges our Greece schools face. We feel discouraged, humiliated when we read and see only the negative in our community. Greece residents often feel concerned for their children's education and are looking for real change to happen. We look to the Board for answers, solutions. Calling attention to a valued Greece employee is wasting time we don't have. So what if her mother is a Board member? That means she doesn't have the right to work in our schools? This individual is one of the most caring, genuine individuals we have. There is a need for a food pantry at Olympia and she is one of the people who decided to make it happen. By the way, several schools are considering or have done the same. I'm proud that our Greece schools are stepping up to the plate and proving what a caring community does when faced with a challenge. These are the people we need in our schools- caring for our students- many times more than their own parents. You may have a problem with the Board but don't start attacking employees who come to work everyday taking care of children who may be abused, broken and have, sometimes, given up. We're not solving problems we're wasting time we don't have.

To 7:16PM ~~ How liberal-minded of you! So it's NOT enough to feed them "free/reduced" cost breakfasts & lunches, we need to feed the rest of the family, too? ? It might not be so bad IF any of us knew that the admin was ousting the FREELOADERS who don't belong in Greece to start with! Maybe we should adopt these "poor" waifs out to better homes and let the community see to ALL of their needs. Oh wait!! We've stopped just short of that anyway!

As for the BOE member's daughter: It is a CONFLICT OF INTEREST to have mom on the BOE determining the details of her employment contract, her pay & benefits, too. But hey, all our BOE members have UNION CONNECTIONS now. Is it any wonder the taxes/assessments keep rising, but the sale prices of homes don't come close to what the Town says they are worth?
