The parcel(s) they are talking about shows no taxes paid so I assume it belongs to the Greece. Last record shows ownership by Woodcreek Development on 6/10/2003 with 3 payments paid for the land, the last being $90,769. The neighbors were told that the land was going to remain green-space as part of the selling feature of the adjacent subdivision. Now,greedy Greece sees $$$$$ additional property taxes flashing in front of them and I expect they will not be an avid participant on the side of the residents.

Former NYC RR Property that was also RG^E right of way for a Transmission line from the former Russel Station. The dirt is contaminated from the RR days.

Town may or may not be hip deep in this, but they damn sure will ignore the soil contamination just as they did over at the Island Cottage end.

The land was supposed to be part of a trail system, but with RG&E no longer running Russel, that trail may have gone noplace or hit a dead end.

20 years out the Taxpayers of Greece will bite the S#!t sammich for this deal when a 2headed kid is born and the parents sue. There is prescient from Monoxide Meadows on Kirk Road back in the Boiley days.

Not owned by Greece, I attended the meeting. The project is DOA. not gonna do it! Zoned for residential single family homes so that is what will go there not the proposed project.

SCATS said...

To 8:52PM ~~ So the idea of "ever green" is DOA as well. Typical.

Anonymous said...

Why was this not on the Town's website calendar?

Anonymous said...

Forever green/ forever wild is COMPLIANCE with a Federal Dictate.

It's why the Town bought farm land in Northwest Greece in the last few years on Hogan Point and N Greece Roads. Same thing is going on in other Towns as well.

Greece managed to get ahead of the curve on this, unlike Brighton where the taxpayers bled to buy the old cow farm on Westphal Rd.

Ever Green? One thing that was explained tonight, the biggest lie many Realtors tell time and time again is "forever wild" There is no such term and it is NEVER true. Only time is if you live next to a park. The only way to have forever wild is to buy the land yourself. None of us have the right to tell someone else what they can do nothing with their own property. On that note the town has added over 35 acres in the last two years of green space and Greece has more green space land than any other town in the county. That sums it up.

SCATS said...

To 9:36PM ~~ Because we do not live in a town that respects the Open Meetings/Open Govt laws.

To 9:38 & 10:36PM ~~ I meant to say FOREVER WILD. According to the report on the 11PM news tonight, the land is CURRENTLY ZONED FOR SINGLE FAMILY HOUSING ... obviously NOT "forever wild."

To 8:52PM ~~ Not so fast with your DOA label. The fellow who presented tonight stated it is NOW UP TO THE DEVELOPER (who didn't attend this meeting) to decide if he wants to proceed.

To follow-up on my 12:56 PM post: I still can't figure out what happened to the property after 6/10/2003 as the town's on line record shows no activity, ownership or property tax collected after 6/10/2003. There is no assessed value stated as well! What is going on with these town records? I asked the town's Director of Development, Gary Tajkowski at last night's meeting and he said he knows nothing about that aspect of the property....

These people should feel lucky they were able to express their views on the project. They lived near the Town Hall where there is absolutely NO public input at all when things are built near their homes. Even the planning board has no input on what go on at Bill's Town Hall Campus.

Anonymous said...

A packed, standing room crowd last night. Why couldn't we have used the big room across the hall ?

Anonymous said...

It was not on the web site because it was not an official town meeting. It was a meeting the developer had not at all to do with town government as there has not been an application. The Eastman room is not rented out it is for official town business only. They could of rented the gym in the community center but they must not anticipated that many.

SCATS said...

To 11:13AM ~~ LACK OF COMMON SENSE.

To 1:49PM ~~ The Eastman Room is NOT "for official town business only." It is used for a variety of events from AARP meetings to flu clinics.

Anonymous said...

TO: 2:09: A variety is usually more the two! BTW AARP now meets at Bethaney Church on Dewey and the Flu clinics have always been in the community room A or B. Maybe there were a few chairs available for people to wait for their flu shots but it was not use for the shots themselves. It am sure it is the only town hall in the county that restricts public use!!!

SCATS said...

To 4:16PM ~~ Let's see ... 1:49PM made a false claim, so I named two off the top of my head. There are others. AARP has had ONE meeting at Bethany. The flu clinics use the Eastman Room to sit folks while they fill out the paperwork & wait for their turn across the hallway.

Anonymous said...

To 4:38: WOW he lets people SIT in the Eastman room ! Now name a group that actually meets in that room.

SCATS said...

To 5:42PM ~~ I've said it twice already. AARP HOLDS THEIR MONTHLY MEETINGS THERE.

Anonymous said...

6:13PM SCATS no they don't! Get with the program.

Historical Society got thrown out of Town Hall by King Willie. Now they have sardine packing sessions in the Library.
His Majesty don't like the carpet getting worn out in the Throne Room.

Oddly before King Willie the Town Hall citizens paid for was open and available for taxpayer use. Now you gotta be special just to go on the second floor, and the Throne Room is off limits. He has cost figures on running lights and air conditioning for every room in Town Hall.

SCATS said...

To 11:31PM ~~ As I said before, ONE meeting was held at Bethany. JUST ONE.

To 12:31AM ~~ It sounds like he's OCD. Is he?

Anonymous said...

Not sure on the OCD, but if you are watching you see every one of his moves is backed by some obscure State Law or Regulation (chickenshit) that every other Town Supervisor and School Superintendent has the sense to ignore.

Historicly, every one of the Town Halls and schools has been sold to the public from Square Jump as a PUBLIC facility where Community Groups will be able to use the facility for meetings etc. That use may not follow the letter of the Law, but it has become the norm over the last 50 years. The King threw the lowly masses out of the Town Throne Room Citing a State Law forbidding community use of that particular room. He will NOT allow the unwashed into his Throne Room or the second floor now.

It is very odd given that I can walk into the Supervisor's office in any other Town without prior permission, and every other Town extends itself to its Citizens to facilitate community use of Town Facilities, be it Hamlin or Pittsford. Under Auggie and every prior Supervisor Greece had the same policy.

Today the King anointed Schiano to run this November for Supreme Court. The media release is very interesting to those who know Schiano and his track record. His legal practice and writings won't let me vote for him. The question is, does the King carry sufficient weight (don't go there) to shove Schiano down the throats of the other County Chairmen in the 7th District to make Schiano the candidate?
Your father being Lonesome Charlie, the lone Republican on City Council will only carry you so far.

All King Willie does is try to save tax payer money. Never mind letting groups from the city use it (like AARP that only does taxes for free in Greece and Webster). If lights are left on in a room no one is using he does not like it. After all AARP just wanted to use it once a month for meetings and everyday from January until April and have the town provide a phone line for free. Really! This is free tax service provided by AARP. It's not like AARP is a million dollar organization. If people spill pop and grind food into the carpet like pizza, it then needs to be cleaned and some stains did not come out. I say we paid for the room if I want to drop sauce on the floor I can. If we leave all the lights on and no one is in the room whats the problem? My taxes are high enough. When Hairberger was their he did not care about saving money, come on.

SCATS said...

To 12:42PM ~~ I agree that almost any other town/school district operates in a much more OPEN way than Greece does. Thus the NEED for a BLOG.

To 6:01PM ~~ Regarding AARP - they are mostly from Greece. Most of the other local AARP groups have folded. FYI, they only operated the tax program Wed-Fri afternoons by appt. King Relic moved them to the NEWER library a year ago. There was NEVER any "sauce" to be spilled. Your rant about lights on in an empty room certainly doesn't pertain to AARP. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.

I heard HRM Wilhelm was really pissed because some lowlife Citizen sat in his throne for some event and made peepe on the carped floor up their on the stage where the throne is. I can understand how that would annoy His Royal HighAssness.

Anonymous said...

To 8:23 Regarding 6:01's comment about food . I think the reference was about the new "no food at meetings in TH or CSC community rooms" policy. BTW what do you think of the new Pottery Barn colors in the Throne Room ?

SCATS said...

To 8:44PM ~~ i can not tell a lie. It was I who couldn't control my leaky bladder after feeling the jolt of excitement that came when my tushy hit that cushy seat with the indentation of his highassness impressed upon it. It's a moment I won't soon forget!

To 8:55PM ~~ Did they have Antelli consult on the decorator colors??

Anonymous said...

To SCATS 6:13 PM, 2/25/2016 Just got an AARP Newsletter. The Northwest AARP meetings have permanently moved to Bethany! They will no longer be meeting at the Town Hall.

Anonymous said...

I see that the Greece Chamber of Commercce is ditching the Community Center for their annual health fair. I guess if it is not an "official" town event it's not going to happen at the tax payer paid for Town Hall or Community Center

SCATS said...

To 6:03PM ~~ Were they booted out?

To 6:51PM ~~ Well I applaud that and sincerely hope that events like Taste of the Town are also relocated off taxpayer funded property :) We'll be watching!

Anonymous said...

To 9:58 I guess the geezers can't have their cookies and meeting too.

SCATS said...

To 10:10PM ~~ Maybe one of them leaked on His throne ... ? lol

Anonymous said...

What the hell did taxsuckers pay for a "Community Center" for if the community doesn't get to use the place?

HRM Wee Willie is watching the crappy coffee in Geezer Gulch on CCTV, and the Greece Gestapo Pretend Poleece are probably hiding in the ceiling waiting to drop on Ethyl and Sally for grabbing a second cup free.

I mean come on, where will we be able to meet and organize the Community Revolt?
We should have a piss in at the Ice puddle to show dissatisfaction. Maybe dump some veggie die in there to annoy the King.

We'll be able to group up over at Parma Town Hall, Parma is even dog friendly.
Maybe Auggie can hook us up with meeting rooms at the funeral parlor.

In Greece dictators are elected not born. Auburger became absolute rising from the depths of obscurity thanks to the stupidity of town residents Pluse the failure of the other party to become relevant and start recruiting quality individuals to join their Committe and run qualified persons to oppose the dictators who run this town. Relic had a head start on Auburger with political power. That's why he is absolute in his first shot at his position.
In the final analysis it is our fault as owners of this town for allowing these demagogues to run this town for their pleasure and convenience .WE JUST DONT CARE AND THEY KNOW IT.Complaining won't get it done,Only positive action will make a difference.

SCATS said...

To 9:24AM ~~ Scandal and embarrassment work, too ;)

Greece might best be described as a 43 sq mi sheep farm under the control of a Shepherd and his kennel of loyal sheep hearding dogs. Little Bopeep is his name.

Anonymous said...

Greece Democrats have not been relevant or even present since the Depression in the 30s.

The last election of a Democrat to Town Board was the goob Antelli replaced. He, as Antelli behind him was a complete waste of the seat up there next to the throne.

Antelli was wormed into Town Board via Greece Summerfest where the little hairdresser established name recognition and illusion of experience by his father, an experienced R politician from Lyell Ave. Today Antelli is playing the same game with his boy via the Museum.

Greece politicians are akin to parasitic maggots. They burrow in as larva and suck on the taxpayer for food and support. As long as they don't screw up too bad, they are in for life. You mess with an established politician or the anointed child of a politician, you get hit back hard with a concrete block.

Hell, the taxpayers are screwed because the taxpayers are ready, willing and able to be screwed.

SCATS said...

To 2:44PM ~~ Or ostrich farm where their heads are in the sand!

To 3:02PM ~~ I don't see the Town Board as "relevant" either. All they do is utter "yea" after Relic reads the item up for approval!

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know when the last time a Greece council member voted NO or even questioned a proposal made by the supervisor?

Anonymous said...

To 12:51 AM: I wonder when Willy will charge rent to the Kiwanis Club for putting a play ground on his campus ?

SCATS said...

To 6:02PM ~~ My best guess is before Auggie got elected as Super. As I recall, a FOIL request was made when Maloney ran to try to pinpoint that exact question.

Anonymous said...

To 6:02PM: As far as I know - Know one ever votes "NO" on anything! Everyone in this club agrees unanimously, 100% of the time..... What a sorry bunch of cowards! Same goes for the supposedly independent Board of Assessment Review (BAR) review members.
This is what they state "Your form will be reviewed by the Board of Assessment Review (BAR), an objective body of officers empowered to hear and determine complaints in relation to assessments". What a laugh! Believe me, their superficial reviews are all smoke and mirror and they never disagree on anything that the head king pin says.....

SCATS said...

To 10:50PM ~~ You forgot one important detail. Not only do they always agree, they NEVER have anything to ask or discuss! They must be geniuses, all of them.

Anonymous said...

To SCATS 10:50PM: You are 100% correct! They pretend to be geniuses but that is far from the truth. Their superiority complex is further emboldened by the corrupt system the hind behind.....You can never, and I mean never have a meaningful dialog to review objective evidence and substantiate facts as they are not required to discuss or be transparent regarding how they reach backroom decisions!!

SCATS said...

To 8:57AM ~~ Just like the school board - NO DIALOG!!!! It always strikes me as odd when they say they are having a "forum", because the communication is ONE-WAY only. It's all part of what makes Greece CLOSED, CLUBBY & CORRUPT.
