DPW - It's 11:45PM - Do You Know ...

WHERE your plow is??

It just plowed our side street ...

... TWICE !

With barely a dusting of new snow on the ground and no school this week, how is this fiscally responsible?

GPS from King Willy says your street gets plowed the dam street gets plowed. The King knows all and his computer sees all.
Just wait till spring when the pavement blows.
I'm enjoying hitting manholes hard tonight.
I just hold the steering wheel and follow the Magic Box with the King's instructions.

I love my job. Prince MoreAss passes on the Kings desires and I fill them.
All hail the King.

Next trip thru I can blow the air horn so you wake up and see me then too.

We didn't have snow plugged roads like this when Auberger was Supervisor.

I just heard the Gates Supervisor on Loonieberry and Bello from Irondequoit, both of them are out in Town vehicles HELPING taxpayers the best they can.

WHERE IS KING WILLIAM??
Is he locked in his secure command office yelling at Commander MoreAss to bring pizza while he monitors the coffee pot in the Senior Center on TV?

WHY is King Willy too good to help the mere subjects?

Did those Town guys get the ice skating rink cleared off so we can go skating tonight?

I can't find any information on the skating rink on the Town web page.
That is important and should be on the Town Page so I can find it.

SCATS said...

To 2:45PM ~~ I hate to say it, but I agree! The roads were at least nominally better under Auggie. Damn, that hurt saying it :(

To 3:32PM ~~ Hell no! They sent everyone home so they could close the Geezer & community Center.

Anonymous said...

The king must be sitting on his throne...... Where the hell are the sidewalk plows? it is after 6:00 PM and none in sight! As I recall, we do pay the highest property taxes in the country!

Anonymous said...

TO 3:32 The lights are on at the rink tonight, does that mean it is open ?
I am sure they can pull some workers from street snow removal to clear the rink.
If there IS info on the rink it is on Bill's Facebook page. Then the Town and Community Center will copy his posts. Don't bother looking at the Web page. There's never much of anything on the Town web page !

SCATS said...

To 6:26PM ~~ Info about the rink used to be on the town website, but not today! LOL

What a bunch of losers we have running the town & county.

I just don't understand how people do not use common sense. People complain about things they don't even understand. You complain if the town is out and you complain that the town is not out plowing. If you sat back and thought about how long it took you to clear your own driveway, then you would realize that the roads were just as tough to clear. It makes matters worse when people are stuck in the road and these guys help to get them un stuck when they really don't have, but they do. The snow was coming down way too fast to keep up with it today. By the time the first roads were cleared they were covered by the time they came back around. Why doesn't everyone just appreciate the job these guys are doing. Working long hours, dealing with complaining residents, and going on no sleep to make the roads passable for emergency vehicles and residents. Wouldn't you want that same respect. Unless you suck at your job and receive complaints all the time about how you perform, that you feel you must pass off your miserableness off on anyone you can. I live in Greece and feel Greece has the clearest roads around. Appreciate and respect, it goes a long way....

SCATS said...

To 8:16PM ~~ EXCUSE ME, but my complaint was that they PLOWED BEFORE ANY SNOW FELL! At the time they did their run in my neighborhood, there was BARELY a trace coating the pavement! THAT is a waste of $$$!!

Lowly PlowDriver said...

Don't worry folks, we're rapidly getting back to the days when an incompetent Highway Superintendent let roads plug up because he blew the budget repainting trucks.
Back then Poppa Chief put the Popo on Latta Road blocking people from driving North of Latta. Hey, to hell with the North end of Town, nobody IMPORTANT lives there.

Just wait till Field Marshall Kirk's computer can't make our second hand Town Plows hand picked from the auction by the King run. King Bill and his Command Structure got rid of the people who made Highway run regardless who got the big check for pretending to be in charge.

People North of Latta road better stock up and buy snowmobiles so they can get to Wegmans when MeChief blocks roads.

When I heard them, they were salting at 2:30 am. Do you know if they were plowing or just salting, preparing for tge storm. If you dont know, then the negativity can stop. I live in Greece and enjoy it. But every social media outlet bashes Greece for this or that. Stop complaining and live life happy. Everyone finds the bad in everything. Find the good, less wasted energy. I have never heard anything but negativity on this site. Why don't you posted positive things as well. Then there would be an even balance. Give credit when credit is due. Not just negative comments. You must be someone who was fired from the town and has a grudge or you are a person who likes to stir the pot!

Anonymous said...

You really need to stop blindly listening to people who have absolutely no idea what they are talking about or blatantly lie to you.

There were no "plow trucks" on the road last night. There was however a sidewalk plow that went through my neighborhood. FYI to the original poster, it's loud but a little bit smaller than a plow truck if you look real close. I assume clearing walks before today's blast of snow. It's been all over the news tonight that they didn't even come in until 2:00AM to get ready for the snowstorm this morning.

It's now obvious that those claiming to be town highway workers on this site are anything but. All the employees over there don't deserve the unfounded trashing they get from some of the goofballs here.

Enjoy your nice clean roads from your warm and cozy sofa as you type your lies on your laptop computer.

Scats, please don't be so quick to believe the liars just because you don't like town leaders. Honest and fair criticism is fine but unfounded trashing and false accusations hurt your credibility. You're usually better than this.

Thanks for the "good" information you share.

@8:16 Some people are just MISERABLE and love to criticize without offering an alternative solution or constructive suggestion.

SCATS said...

To 9:14PM ~~ Believe me when I say, this was GOOD info! I saw it with my own eyes.

To 10:01PM ~~ I thought the constructive suggestion was obvious: Do NOT plow clean pavement!

For the record, no plow has been through here since early afternoon, even though it snowed until dinner hour.

Anonymous said...

10:01 you want an alternative solution?
How about Greece goes back to having an ELECTED Highway Superintendent instead of an appointed "administrator"?

Been a lot of problems over at highway ever since we went to an appointed yes man.
I recall one that got himself Indicted by the Grand Jury for spending practices.
I recall another one who spent a ton of money painting trucks orange and then 3 color paint jobs.

Funny thing, Greece brought Dave back after Dave retired as Clarkson Highway Super (elected) to fill in until King Willie could put his munchkin in. Things ran damn well when Dave was there because he knew the job.
Parma = ELECTED Super
Clarkson = ELECTED Super
Hamlin = ELECTED Super
Sweeden = ELECTED Super
All 4 of them do a very good job at lower cost because ELECTED Highway Supers have to ANSWER to their voters. Just try talking to Morris. Get in his face about your road and you'll get called in to Greece PD for INTIMIDATION!

Anonymous said...

Scats I'm the 8:16 poster. I see you only post certain things. If you want a true debate and to be fair, everything should be posted. I used no foul language. So, now I see you just post to instigate. You did not have good info because only salting was going on at that time. Really get the info right or don't post it at all. Let's make our town great by pointing out the positives,as well as what can be fixed. If you don't like the leaders say that, but let's not trash talk the workers who are working hard and being told what to do.

Anonymous said...

Dear Disgruntled Gov't Worker (aka 11:16pm):

Ok, I love dumping on the town as much as the next person but even I have to call a foul on this one.

What idiot would actually compare Greece Highway to the four smallest towns in the county!?! I think some of those towns still have dirt roads! And the lower cost is maybe due to the fact that they only have about 15 employees compared to 90 in Greece. And I'm pretty sure Greece has more trucks (duh!). SeethroughNY also shows Greece highway guys making between $50k and $90k and those other towns averaging $35k a year.

The management may suck in Greece but you cannot compare Greece to a teeny-tiny town.

SCATS said...

To 8:10AM ~~ I don't understand your beef. Your post from 8:16 was posted AND responded to. The only comment not posted was the one ranting about "idiots" and that definitely doesn't make the cut. Like I said, I had "the right info." I witnessed it myself. It was PLOW. They do not ever salt here.

To 9:36AM ~~ I think you missed the BIGGER POINT which was to have an elected highway Supt.

Anonymous said...

Only DIRT ROAD I know of in Monroe County is a gravel & oil road in Riga, where they have an ELECTED Highway Super, and well maintained roads.

Greece Highway used to be good, then we got a New King. I sure miss Auggie, he knew enough to let the Highway guys do their job, and understood they knew more about roads than he did.

For GCSD Graduates, ELECTED Highway Supers WORK to have the best possible roads. They want to get elected again.

Highway Departments tend to be staffed (GCSD- that means number of employees) according to need, employees per mile of roads.
Sweeden for instance has around 10 trucks, an ELECTED Highway Super, and they have good roads and keep them plowed because the Super of Sweeden Highway knows his job. He can even drive the BIG GREEN Autocar, un,like Mr Suit in Greece.
Maybe that's why Greece Supervisor KING BILL located his HotRod Ranch in Sweeden.

Let 's give the guys that do the actual plowing a thumbs up. They have the experience and dedication to do the best they can dispite the managment with 2 years experience

When Hillary was our Senator we never had snow pile up at all. Our town roads were always freshly paved and everything was good. When Dick BeBeBe was our county legislator the ice in the rink froze like it should we had cold weather for those that enjoy winter activities. I'm afraid now that our great President leaves it won't be sunny everyday anymore. It's all King William's fault. Darn it. Bad Republicans, bad, bad.

Small towns have elected Highway Superintendents larger communities do not. Greece is the 11 largest town in the state and larger in population than more than half the Counties in New York. Same reason cities don't have elected Highway supers. Just the way it is in NY. As a matter of fact anyone that traversed the city will tell you our roads were better than there's. Little town generally have roads that do not include many residential tracts they have people going out when they should stay home blocking the roads. If you don't like it call the Governor.

To 4:07PM ~~ You mean despite the MISmanagement, right? THUMBS UP!

To 4:36PM ~~ You started Happy Hour early again!

To 6:28PM ~~ Anyone watching Ch. 10's news tonight would know full well that people in the city were mad as hornets about yesterday's problems. For many, it carried well into today, as well.

Why was the community center open but all activities canceled? It was open but no one could use it ! The County announced no unnecessary travel yet the Greece library was open till 5:00. I am sure the library would not be considered necessary. Even the mall was closed

Maggie Brooks bus belched a big black smokefart on the TroopHowell bridge today and caused another wreck even though the pavement was clean.

All the wrecks there are caused by Bill Johnson's fake arches reflecting sunshine into drivers eyes when they ain't Maggie's fault. Cheryl Dinolfo should chain prisoners from the jail and march them to the SuziFred bridge and have them deshine the fake arches.

Ch 10 can't find it's tower on the hill with both eyes.

To 11:08PM ~~ Interestingly, Dinolfo has gone AWOL today, nobody at the county level is available to answer questions AND Ch 13 has joined the fray emphatically stating that THEIR meteorologists called it exactly as it happened, too.

Bet 5 bucks against a sack of catnip Cheryl ain't over on Richmond Street polishing a bar stool like a few infobabes are.

Cheryl Dinolfo is shopping for an ergonamic snow shovel for Judge Dinolfo so he doesn't sustain a back injury that might take him off the Bench. She's also picking up a LARGE bag of KittyLitter, the crystal kind that retains liquid to drop off at SCATS KittyCondo so SCATS will quit pissin on Cheryl's shoes and go pee on Commendant MoreAss at Greece DPW for failing to do the job he gets paid to do. Cheryl is using her personal vehicle not the County Owned car assigned to her. She also took work home in her briefcase and will be up late pounding on her laptop linked to the County Computer. Her Judge husband is training a dog adopted from the City Shelter to attack anyone with a TV Station jacket showing up at the Dinolfo home. They will have a family meeting later on the subject of teaching the dog to chase cats.

Made a phone call to the highway department yesterday morning about the sidewalk plows that had pushed vary large snow boulders into my driveway. I know my contractor should not be putting the snow onto the sidewalk and have told them several times to put the snow into the yard, they just refuse.
I will not have a plow contract with them next year, going back to my original contractor they did it the right way.
I was just looking for some help because the contractor told he it's not his problem and to call the town.
The person that answered the phone was so rude, and sounded like a vary poor attitude.
When I was telling him the issue I heard him mumble something but what I heard was not vary nice. I don't want to repeat what he said but if if he was my child I would have slapped him across the face and stuck a bar of soap in his mouth.
If you have a problem hearing issues and taking calls then you should look for another job.
Told my neighbor about the issue and what was said from the contractor and the town, he said he will help me and he came over with the kids and they shoveled everything off the driveway.
Thanking my neighbor for helping.
As for the person at the town, you need some real help.

To 8:08AM ~~ Rude town employees is pretty much the status quo & has been for years. I think it's a training ground BEFORE they get jobs at the DMV. TY for telling us about your experience.

Lowly PlowDriver said...

I'm not a rude town employee.
I'm just a simple snow plow driver.
It's a dummy job.
My Great Leader tells me that once a week.
All I gotta do is turn the wheel according to the instructions the Magic Box gives.

I do not normally verbally interface with taxpayers.
That isn't part of my job description.
If and when it becomes necessary to interface with a taxpayer I must do so in a manner
consistent with the Rules & Guidelines spelled out in the manual for flunkeys.
I must also attempt to redirect the taxpayer's conversation to a qualified Town employee. There are a truckload of college grads sitting on their asses in offices who are far better qualified to interface with taxpayers than I am.
Thank you for your comments and assessment of my pathetic attempt to push white crap up your driveway.
I am sorry you are not satisfied.
I appreciate hearing what you pay in taxes, and I fully understand I work for you!

I am a lowlife!
I will attend all meetings and training sessions.
I will follow all instructions from the runt in a suit.

Again, thanks for my magnificent truck and the opportunity to have this job.

The culture of any organization starts and ends at the top. Recently I purchased a membership at our newest big box store. My experience with them has been that to a person whenever I needed assistance had a question or other problem I was treated as a valued customer and while every situation was not resolved in my favor I was treated with respect and dignity. In one instance I was speaking ( found out later) with a corporate vice president who was from out of town and was making an inspection of the operation he treated me as a valued member of the organization and that my opinions were important to them. I researched the company and found that the core values come from the top and every employee is aware of company policy and that public perception is everything in brand protection and development of their business model. Why you ask, they have competition. When elected officials do not respect the people that they are supposed to be serving there is a real disconnect and problem. Our town hall has emblazoned on one of the entrances "Service Mall". Try going to the assessors office and making an appointment to see him. Try taking the elevator to the second floor and making an appointment to see the Supervisor. As you will probably find out Service Mall is a gross misrepresentation in my opinion not only is my input unwanted and not valued I am treated as an annoyance the only exception is when I am there to pay my property tax bill. The culture of any organization starts and ends at the top. If you really want to make a good town great again how about making yourself your staff and other managers available your constituents after all we are your customer base.

I was at Town Hall service mall this afternoon, and the ladies working both the Clerk's Counter and Assessors Counter were friendly and as helpful as they could be. Even the poor lady who sits at the INFORMATION counter by the door where she gets blasted by cold air every time the door opens was nice and helpful. The gang over at the Code Compliance counter must have been having a party, there was a woman in a knit hat dancing around and laughing trying to get some goob in a blue uniform with a badge to look at something funny on her computer while 2 male employees sat behind the counter simulating frogs waiting for a fly to come in range.

There were even taxpayers growing blisters on the ancient folding chairs waiting for something. Some Town Employees do care and are helpful. Some are even charming.

SCATS said...

To 8:33PM ~~ Thank you for mentioning "the gang over at the Code Compliance counter." From my many visits to that part of Town Hall, it is TYPICAL to find a group of employees sitting around shooting the breeze behind that particular counter! It is one of my pet peeves. They should be out doing inspections, following up on complaints, maybe even LOOKING FOR OBVIOUS VIOLATIONS!!

The raccoon is joke. A story teller and everyone knows it and laughs at what he says when he walks away. He tells everyone he is a special FBI agent! He always says he has the inside scoop on who is being investigated yet year after year none of those scoops ever come true. He just tells stories to try and ruin everyone's reputation. Truth is everyone knows him to be a liar and shady one.
