Reilich Returns $90,400 To Monroe County In LDC Case

From 2006 to 2013, Republican political committees received tens of thousands of dollars in donations from people and companies later connected to a criminal bid-rigging case.

According to Reilich the party received about $150,000 in donations "tainted" by connection to Lynch and others involved in the local development corporation (LDC) case.

The GOP already returned a $50,000 donation from Brooks' campaign committee out of an abundance of caution, Reilich said last week.

Reilich Tackles Zombie Homes

13WHAM reports: Proposes amendment to require any bank or lender foreclosing on a property in the Town of Greece to give immediate notice and provide a cash bond of $10,000 minimum. This will secure the continued maintenance and safety of the property.
Failure to comply with the proposed amendment would be punishable by a fine of $5,000.
Reilich said the newly proposed amendment would effectively be the strongest effort by a local municipality in Monroe County to combat the problems associated with vacant structures or zombie properties.
SCATS ~~ How widespread is this problem in Greece?
PLEASE, TELL US if there is a zombie home near you! Provide the address and we can compile a list to get a handle on the issue.
According to Ch. 8 news: Greece has 170 foreclosed homes and another 92 facing foreclosure.

My understanding is that board members still do not have a copy of the latest Teacher's contract, nor do they know how much the cost will be over the life of the contract. It is still being "negotiated." How can that be if the board voted to approve it? And, how will the board adopt a budget if they don't know the cost of this union contract? Since union contracts about 75% of the cost of our annual budget, why doesn't the board know the cost??? If the board is limited to a .12% budget increase over last year how do they think the taxpayers are going to pay for it????

Greece vs. Henrietta ...

When a home explodes due to natural gas in Greece, as happened in October of 2010*, the community is given lip service, often in the form of: "The investigation is ongoing" ... or some other excuse ... and NEVER GIVEN AN EXPLANATION/CAUSE FOR THE INCIDENT!

When a home explodes due to natural gas in Henrietta, as happened yesterday, an investigation begins immediately, the cause is determined and the Fire Chief holds a press conference OPENLY EXPLAINING THE ENTIRE SITUATION IN LAYMAN'S TERMS THAT MAKE SENSE, so everyone else can feel safe in their homes.
