Does Greece Need More Section 8 Housing?

What? No comments on the upcoming Apple Annie section 8 housing spectacular? I'm shocked.

For the newcomers, Apple Annie Giborski's son was once very high up in Greece Republican politics. He is also related to the mother of the current Popo Chief. Sec 8 housing on the former apple farm will save Diesel fule for Greece Central Sports District providing local housing for students who otherwise would have to ride from the City. Reduced taxes on the sec8 project will enable taxpayers to make up for the loss. A traffic light already exists on Latta Road, so money will be saved on the project by aligning the driveway. English Village crapped out, so new hovels need to be built to attract better athletes. It's a short run from 2 NGFD Firepalaces so response times should be short for IAFF Members once they get the call from 911. This is a POSITIVE for Greece. It may even increase the number of Registered Democrats in Greece.    1/19/2016 6:02 PM

Please excuse my ignorance about this but is this whole project to be subsidized housing. You know herding poorer people into ghetto like public housing is an idea that was rejected sometime ago. It is bad for the people who live there who get labeled as substandard just like the housing and bad for the community.

Anybody can choose to rent in English Village or Crack House Commons.
Oddly, people who pay their own rent generally choose to not move into complexes largely filled with Sec 8 tenants.

A total mis truth to enflame residents. This is not section 8 housing. I live in the neighborhood and followed this closely. This is high end senior housing. Get your fact straight!

This is news to me about the housing going up there. Try to keep up with current events but did not hear a thing about this. I guess her son being involved in town politics at one time explains why that property looked like a dump for so many years and the town did nothing to get them to clean it up. I don't think you or I would get the same pass. It's amazing what money and politics can buy you.

To 8:50PM ~~ Wed. is NOT the 18th.

To 8:59PM ~~ "High end" as in ASTRONOMICAL RENTS??

To 11:48PM ~~ In Greece, it's not so much about what you know, but WHO ;)

8:59 wasn't Creek House Commons supposed to be senior housing when it was built? I hope to god it is senior housing because we need more sec 8 housing like we need holes in our heads. I would actually recommend removing all section 8 housing but that will never happen.

To 8:59 Didn't they just build that a quarter mile east of Long Pond last year? I remember seeing flyers at the Mc Donalds down the road claiming that those upcoming apartments were going to be subsidized housing. Sometime later, I hear they were changed to Senior living.

So what's the truth? The amount of ground they have already cleared is massive compared to the one down the road.

My generation has a whole different definition of "Section 8"!

11:48 you need to read the Town Code.
Farms are largely exempt from all the silly lawn and fence rules, and can sidestep building rules as well.

Long live farms in Greece, preferably manure spreading farms that plow and harvest around the clock!

To 2:57PM ~~ I do not believe it is senior housing and don't think it ever was.

To 7:12PM ~~ You are correct. Rat infestations are only out-of-order in residential areas, not agricultural.

Rats are a legitimate Ag product Kittycat.

How you think the China Bufslop all you can eat restaurant keeps price low?

Where you think Greece Horsie People keep their big pets?
A good manure pile keeps ugly houses out of a neighborhood.

to 8:59 I've heard there's been a lot of problems at Creek House Commons from someone who lives near there. I have no actually first hand knowledge of this.

To 9:15PM ~~ I enjoy a plate of Moo Goo Gai Rat every now and again, don't you?

To 9:26PM ~~ There are lots of police calls to that area. I know this BLOG has carried stories about past criminal activities in that area of town.
