Home Invasion Victim Dies ...

Anonymous said...
From TV 10

October 31, 2016 06:23 PM

An 86-year-old Greece man has died after his home was broken into on Maiden Lane earlier this month.

Greece police say Charles Fields was injured during the home invasion on October 8. Officers were called to Fields' home for a welfare check and found Fields injured and the home had been burglarized.

Officers did not say if Fields died as a result of those injuries. He was taken to the hospital for treatment after the break-in. Police could not say, at this time, if someone was in custody for the break-in or if the suspect would face additional charges. However, they did say the investigation into the break-in is ongoing.

The following day, police recovered Fields' vehicle, which had been stolen during the home invasion, in the City of Rochester.

At the time, investigators said they believed the break-in was not a random act.

Right Under Their Noses

A Greece man was sent to the hospital today following a home invasion/burglary at 515 Maiden Ln.

Police don't know when it happened, or what was stolen.

"A lot of these criminals aren't very bright and to do it right across from the police station, well that just gives us an upper hand. We're investigating this and have reason to believe that we'll get to the bottom of this and that's kind of what keeps us in business." ~~ Sgt. Jared Renee, GPD

SCATS ~~ Obviously, these criminals had NOTHING to fear from Greece police ... or they'd have been caught in the act!

Former County Clerk Didn't Waive Fees

Former Monroe County Clerk, Patricia Lamb McCarthy: “I would like to set the record straight, and unequivocally state waiving fees for certain individuals was not a practice we engaged in during my nine years (1985-1993) as Monroe County Clerk."

SCATS ~~ Looks like Cheryl Dinolfo & Maggie Brooks (rhymes with "crooks") are the ONLY ONES to illegally run this operation! Reading the handbooks for the job must have been too much to expect! IMHO, this PROVES these folks had no business becoming County Clerks - They were woefully unprepared to perform the duties of their jobs!

Bus Monitor Assaulted in Greece

UPDATE ~~ TEEN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT IN THE THIRD DEGREE. She is living in Greece "temporarily."

Greece Police Investigating

13WHAM news reports: The monitor was taken away in an ambulance and treated at the hospital after the incident Tuesday. Wednesday, she gave a statement to police in Greece, where the incident happened. 13WHAM has learned that there is video of the attack, and that charges could be filed soon in the matter.
Shannon Casey said she was blindsided and beaten by a 15-year-old girl on the bus Tuesday afternoon while others watched and laughed.
Casey said there were five other people on the bus at the time – four students and the bus driver. She said she approached the 15-year-old before leaving school because she was late, something Casey said happened often.
She said, when they finally got to Greece, she heard the girl tell her brother to get the camera ready. That was when she said she was attacked.
Casey met with police Wednesday night. They are investigating the incident.
The Pittsford Central School District confirms it is aware of the incident and the video. The district said it is cooperating with Greece Police.

Adam Bello was correct and we're NOT surprised!

"The law does not provide any exemption from the execution fee when a new application is executed before a state official." ~~  State Department's director of legal affairs (See letter)

Dinolfo calls this "a clarification."

SCATS ~~ Cheryl, the only thing that's NOT clear is how you ever became County Clerk to begin with!

Monroe County Clerk on Nov. 8th.

Bring In The Clowns!!

No, that's not a call for our local politicians to show up.

Someone took a video of a "creepy clown" walking down Ridge Rd. & waving at cars near the mall Sunday night.

Our police chief, Patrick Phelan, says he's not worried, and that the activity isn't illegal.

“I don't think the very fact that someone is dressed as a clown is in and of itself sinister in any way."

See 13WHAM for the story & video.

SCATS ~~ What if a person who has always feared clowns spots one? Does that make it "sinister" and "illegal?"

POPPYCOCK !! = Dinolfo On Waiving Fees

Cheryl Dinolfo

Former Monroe County Clerk & current County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo said some fees were waived for what she called "good customer service," describing the clerk's office as a business.

She further claimed the clerk's office was "competing with the Post Office and DMV" and that customers who had a "good experience" would return to do business in the future.

She says her staff had discretion to waive fees if someone returned multiple times for the same transaction or endured a long wait or implementation of a new procedure.

SCATS ~~ When was the last time any of you received free shipping or postage from the PO because you had a long wait in line? How about getting a waiver of any sort on your DMV transaction because you had to return multiple times? NEVER?? We thought so!
Dinolfo has lost touch with reality by comparing govt run offices to any real world "business."

Bello Uncovers Another Scandal In Clerk's Office

Adam Bello, the current Monroe County Clerk, uncovered another scandal involving the previous administration's oversight.

Bello has ordered that all waivers be halted. Records show 15 individuals in one family received waivers on passport application fees.

Dear Abby ...

To say we are disappointed by your recent revelations & behaviors would be understating reality. For many years, we actually believed that you were a true role model, a relative rarity among today's athletes. Over that time, you repeatedly positioned yourself as the voice of reason within the world of sports which is too often out-of-control in multiple ways. Sadly, we bought your phony image hook, line & sinker!

Of course, we know you are "only human" and as such are entitled to make mistakes. However, it has always been our position that those like you who drink & then drive have consciously chosen to BREAK THE LAW & POTENTIALLY ENDANGERING THE LIVES OF OTHERS they share the road with. Anyone who has EVER studied NYS traffic laws, taken driver's education or any written driver's test in this state is well aware of the laws regarding driving under the influence. THERE IS NO EXCUSE, EVER.

Worse yet, you waited until today to "come clean" about your lengthy history as a drug and alcohol abuser via the media. How opportunistic for you to time the release of this news just before you begin signing books in the city you used to call "home!" We couldn't expect you to gracefully admit to and apologize for the wrongs you've done and the false image you portrayed and then quietly cancel your self-promotional schedule without filling your wallet off your loyal fan base, now could we?

We're sorry, but we're not buying what you are selling any more. As they say, "Fool me once, shame on you ... "

There They Go Again!

Greece Police Chief Apologizes
For GPD Vehicle
Parked In Handicapped Space

TWC News

Recently a photo was published on facebook depicting a Greece Police car parked in a handicapped spot. This is obviously unacceptable. I can assure you that our officers are repeatedly reminded that Integrity, Professionalism and Service are of the utmost importance. This action is not in line with those values. While I understand that posting things on facebook and blogs are what people consider to be taking action in this day and age, it would be far more effective to contact my office, our Internal Affairs office, or an on duty supervisor to report this act. If we had specifics like date, time, and location we could investigate the matter and correct the actions of this single officer. We have provided many ways to contact our office, you can also email our internal affairs office at gpdinternalaffairs@greeceny.gov or submit a confidential anonymous tip from our website http://www.greecepolice.org/ . On behalf of our police department I apologize to the community and assure you that I will take measures to ensure that this does not happen again.

SCATS ~~ Hey Chief, can you GUARANTEE there won't be retaliation on the person who reports one of your guys for this sort of problem? No? We didn't think so!

Where's The Justice? Where Are The Answers?

So let me get this straight ...

A 15 yr. old boy has been arrested & got a plea deal charged with just 2 misdemeanors* after originally being charged with 10 different counts. This was after running from half a dozen police agencies, plus the SWAT team & a helicopter and causing Durand beach, the park, the golf course and at least one street to be shutdown with adjacent neighbors locked down. There was a second neighborhood lock down the day this felon was finally arrested.

  • What happened to the home burglary that was initially reported?
  • What happened to the theft of TWO different vehicles?
  • What happened to the other five suspects (3 men, 2 women) the cops were seeking?
  • What happened to the gun & reports by police that shots were fired?
  • What happened to the destruction of property during the high speed chase through the golf course where turf and fencing was destroyed?
  • What happened to the huge cost in time, manpower & other resources to bring this little miscreant to court?
  • How is this plea deal in the interests of the public?

*first-degree reckless endangerment & fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen weapons

Town of Greece Settles PIGnato Suit

TWC News reports: The Town of Greece and its insurance company have settled a row over a civil suit regarding Gary Pignato, a former Greece Police officer who first made headlines more than eight years ago.
Pignato was convicted of bribery for using his position to coerce women into having sex with him.
The town sued Lloyd's of London after the insurer initially refused to cover all of the costs related to a civil suit filed by two women.
In Feb. 2015, the town authorized the settlement of the lawsuits for what sources tell us was a total of $900,000. That suit named John Auberger, the former town supervisor and Merritt Rahn, the former police chief, as well as Pignato.
Pignato was released from state prison in the summer of 2013 after serving nearly three years and nine months behind bars.
