Knock it off George!
Greece Central has spent a fortune teaching people math skills that leave them too dumb to make change, to say nothing of Government classes that condition the suckers to think I do a good job.

I have more expensive ties than you have, and I'm an elected official who can make your life miserable. Pay the taxes and shut your pie hole!

If Greece budgets 29 vacant positions, but doesn’t spend the money, what’s wrong with that?

The money is still there isn't it?

How do we know if money is still there (unspent)... or spent on something else?

george hubbard said...

To: 10:12pm

Unused money from 2015 remains as end-of-year Fund Balance (FB)... and can be appropriated for following year as revenue... as 10:12 implies.

2016 Budget shows $0 APPROPRIATED FROM FUND BALANCE of 2015.

2016 Budget Book does not disclose dollar amount (estimated) as 2015 FB.

Good thing the water park, puckel ball courts and Releich pavilion didn't cost anything to build and maintain

If I wanted to tell you where the money was, I'd tell you.
I Bill Roadblock am in charge of the Town, and I along with my lackeys, flunkies and asskissers will run the Town as we see fit.
You don't like how things are being done feel free to stop in to my office on the second floor of Town Hall and tell me about it.
You'll get a full and complete explanation of all your rights from one of my staff.
Now quit bothering me I got my very own car museum to play with and I have to figure out where I'm going to display some Greece items I just scored.
I am the GREATEST there has ever been!
Augie comes by to shine my shoes on the way to his Funeral Home job.

I went on the NYS web site and it shows the towns levy is less than last years. I also asked questions and got an education. The town actually eliminated over forty full and part time positions. They are no longer budgeted and the job has been eliminated. I found out that is one element that went into cutting spending and shrinking the budget by 1.5 million. Sorry I mis spoke.
George

PS I am not impersonating any one any more than the 6:04pm post is and since that is still up I look forward to seeing this!

To 7:51PM ~~ 6:04PM made it obvious he/she is not "real." Now you have, too.

To 5:07PM ~~ Isn't our Supervisor amazing?? New items magically appear, costing us nothing, while employee positios get eliminated without ever cutting services??? LMAO!!! We're such a bunch of suckers ;)

To: 7:51pm Thanks for posting... can we reduce possibile confusion.?

1a. You say, ”I went on the NYS web site and it shows the towns levy is less than last years.”

1b. I ask, “Last year levy was for year= 20??”
1c. "This year levy is for year= 20??”

11:07PM The town is over $200,000.00 under the Levy that the state would allow to raise it and still get the rebate check.

Eliminated 40+ positions – when?

And created how many new positions?

Like cut 2 police Captains and created 2 Deputy Chiefs. Yup they cut 2!

Anonymous said...

No in Jan. 2014 403 employees, today 360, nice try it is what it is. Accept it! Eliminating Captains and adding Deputy chiefs net gain zero in numbers but dollar saving to the town. At least criticise from knowledge not ignorance.

Will the Luvlee Boat come to Rochester, or can Bill Reilich throw his weight around and get it moved to the new improved Braddocks Bay?

Created: 11/27/2015 9:12 PM WHEC.com

Tax dollars may soon be used on a project to bring a cruise ship to the Port of Rochester.

The bill calls for money in order to fund a study, which will determine if a cruise ship could be used at the harbor.

This proposed hundred-thousand dollar study would receive some funding from the city, as well as the Army Corps of Engineers.

There is set to be a vote on the project in December.

Maybe it can cruise to Toronto & back.

To 9:38PM ~~ Eliminating Captains and adding Deputy chiefs DESTROYS THE COMMAND STRUCTURE BAXTER PUT INTO PLACE!!! It was intended to PREVENT another Rahn-type scandal from EVER happening. Remember the $1,000,000 investigation by Loszynski???

To 11:13PM ~~ OMG!! Maybe they can finally find a use for the liquor sitting in that warehouse!

1. You say, “No in Jan. 2014 403 employees, today 360,..”

1a. I say, you’ve offered information I’ve not seen before.

1b. Staffing levels are not shown in 2016 Budget.

1c. I ask, are these figures available in documents of public record?

9:38pm

So Greece employment went down from 403 to 360 – down 10.3%. Amazing!

Why would Town Board members let employment get so high if not needed?

What is dollar savings?

Anonymous said...

Gee, if they can still find the liquor and sell the liquor a retired Town Official might get some of his brilliant investment back.

The Luvlee boat has a romantic ring too.

Singles cruises for thugs might help some to find the right path. Didn't that work for the Maya's husband?

Just ignore the names of some of the people opening new restaurants in the Grady Memorial Building in Charlotte.

SCATS said...

To 7:24PM ~~ If you believe that many jobs were eliminated without impacting services, could I interest you in building a cruise line for the Port at Charlotte???

Anonymous said...

9:04pm Got rid of dead weight. Heck if employees were added everyone would say "Hiring all his friends" If you shrink the numbers "the services will suffer" How many times have we heard on this page "employees sleeping or 3 watch as one works" Just can't win because you always find fault. I'm out of here and I enjoy this town, non are perfect but most don't have a "tear down page"

Are you selling stock puttitat, or renting dock space?

I'd have thought a feline of your stature would avoid near water experiences.

Will SCATS sponsor a contest to name the new Luvless Cruise ship?

To 10:19PM ~~ LOOK AGAIN! They still have plenty watching while one guy works. But I bet your side street won't get plowed as much as it used to ;)

To 10:51PM ~~ Titanic is already taken ...

1. You say, “I'm out of here and I enjoy this town, non are perfect but most don't have a "tear down page"

1a. I say, call the page a “tear down page” if you must, but not all posts are “tear down posts”.

1b. Overall, SCATS provides a unique communication service to residents.

1c. My letter to the editor (GP 11/26) used as the lead to this thread was a serious rebuttal to a guest essay “The 2016 proposed budget – No tax increase for residents”, (GP 11/12) by Supervisor Bill Reilich and Greece Town Board.

1d. The essay played fast and loose with budget facts.

1e. Since the thread started days ago, there have been NO VERIFIABLE FACTS posted that refute the four points of my rebuttal.

1f. I ask, who’s interests are served with exaggerations, ambiguities, and half-truths?

1g. Sorry 10:19, but for now, Greece with SCATS... is better than Greece without!

I read you to say the Greece Post 11/12 essay was written by Supervisor Bill Reilich and Greece Town Board.

Are you sure? I thought Greece Town Board was made up of Supervisor and 4 Councilmen/women.

So, Supervisor counts twice?

george hubbard said...

To: 1:28 Thanks for posting.

1. I wondered same... checked and found Town Greece website shows Town Board as 5 members – Supervisor plus 4 councilman/woman.

2. Your point raises interesting question.
2a. Notice, Council people did not sign individually as authors.

3. Did GTB vote to approve content of guest essay 11/12?
3a. If no, who has authority to speak for GTB... if GTB did not speak as a body, i.e. by vote.

SCATS: Do you agree?
4a Supervisor can speak for himself...

4b. has authority to speak for Town of Greece as elected executive

4c. prwsides over GTB, but can only speak for GTB in instances where GTB is on record as having taken action as governing body.

George ~~ Since the Greece Town Board NEVER EVER disagrees with, discusses in public, questions or votes "no" on what the Supervisor wants, then it seems safe to assume he speaks for them whenever he opens his mouth. I don't think the technicalities matter.

Well just darn. It looks like Maya Loveless missed the recent Bankruptcy filing of the only cruise line operating on the Great Lakes.
It seems they had to file Chp 11 after they crashed their rented boat into a lock on the Seaway, shades of the Edmond FitzJohnson a few years back, and they might not be able to float fools on the Lake in 2016.

Maybe Maya Loveless is going to have the City of Rochester lease the boat and put Uncle Cedrick in charge of driving it. He can go real fast in a City car, just think what he can do with a boat.

In other Maratime News, Super Bill still nursing chafing from his water slide experiment is looking for a Zodiak boat or even a rubber raft he can use to conduct tours of the new improved Braddocks Bay right up to the Parkway and over to where Russel Station once sat.

Stand by for a Summer of floating joy folks.

New Topic: District Website. Why is Doug Pacelli still listed as principal of Lakeshore on the list of all schools on the district website? Oops! Also, was looking for email addresses for superintendent and secretary, district office administrators and assistants. All have been removed except for the Finance Department. Why? Most schools do not have email addresses for principal and secretary either. Why the secrecy?

To 9:32PM ~~ I'm sure they are much too busy raising test scores & graduation rates to be bothered with peons like ... er, I mean parents and other people like you.

Just drive over to Shady Pine Lane and knock on her door.

At least she didn't have to buy a house to comply with her contract.
Granted it ain't much but she & Kurt pay Greece taxes.

Speaking of new web sites....has anyone tried to find info on the new towns web site ? But there is a nice photo of a tee pee
