Special BOE Meeting, Tues.

Executive Session - It is anticipated that the BOE will go into Exec. Session  @4:45 pm to discuss matters made exempt under federal law, the Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), & the employment history of particular person(s).

NOTE ~~ No time is given for the expected start of the Open BOE Meeting, another violation of the Open Meetings Laws.

Agenda Topics of Note
Non-Unit Rates (Retired cops)
Summer School Program Report
Enrollment Projections - Are they priming us so they can ask us to BUILD another school??

Why does the Office of School Safety & Security really want us to pay $20/hour - an "events rate" - so Steve Chatteron's retired cop/buddies can work for GCSD? What's in it for taxpayers?

Why do we pay disc jockeys $10-35/hour, but a "security worker sub" gets just $9/hour?

Because that's twice what a retired doughnut munching cop is worth.

With the number of the useless comedians available we should be able to get them at a more realistic price.
They won't even kick in campaign donations!

Because DJ's can do the Nae Nae, and cops can't?

I repost your statement

"Why does the Office of School Safety & Security really want us to pay $20/hour - an "events rate" - so Steve Chatteron's retired cop/buddies can work for GCSD? What's in it for taxpayers?"

And I now explain!

It's $22 per hour and 3 hr. minimum for non PD retirees!

But if you are a retired PD pensioner, making outside union scale - it becomes time and a half... meaning it can be up to $30 per hour for seniors and special hires!!! Who by the way are the only hires used for Patrol Car, District summer employment, and preferentially selected for those special events by their PD supervisors (nepotism)!

Didn't they just budget and we are now paying for 4 each noon to 8 p.m. security guards at each high school.

Why aren't those minimum wage hires covering events, sports and whatever other non school horse$h!/ we taxpayers pay for at their earned rate of $9.75 per hour?

To 5:29PM ~~ I learned long ago that "logic" & politics, especially politics involving nepotism, rarely mix.

We're Proud of our Schools at Hilton Central.

We got a new Stupidintendent so the old one can retire at $100,000 a year. (how will he make it)

Today Hilton proudly announces;
Created: 10/27/2015 5:39 PM WHEC.com

The former Hilton middle school teacher accused of trying to entice a young girl he met online pleaded guilty to charges on Tuesday.

He faces a minimum of ten years in prison and a maximum of life.

Prosecutors say Charles Kane was arrested in April when he attempted to meet up with someone he believed to be a 14-year-old girl that he met online. However, that person turned out to be a federal agent.

Officials said Kane had posted ads on Craigslist looking to start a relationship with an underage girl.

We're told Kane was a music teacher in the Hilton Central School District.

Kane will be sentenced in January 2016.

Beat That Greece Central!
Hilton is so good nobody who isn't already on School Board dares to run for the Bored.

Isn't Rob Linton a DJ on the side

To 9:15AM ~~ I believe he is, or was. Must be nice! Does everyone get to double-dip these days??

Can anyone at GCSD BOE explain the ratio of stupidvisors to security guards?

It seems that there are 7 Black shirts for 35 guards who are all supervised by a Head of security and also directly reporting to 6 building principals... 14 Supervisory personnel for 35 employees? Isn't that 1 supervisor with 2 reporting employees? SEEMS OVER MANAGED!!!

Anonymous said...

5"07 that ratio is recommended by Lawyers to provide the best Defense case when the Athletic District gets the 50E notification another Lawsuit is on the way.

Check the ratio of bosses to doughnut munchers at Greece PD.

But three of those supervisors have no direct reports! Why are they paid supervisory wages if they aren't supervising?

AUDIT Please?! Oh wait, isn't that happening now?

Hey SCATS Just because a person works a part time job, in this case a DJ, why do you call that double dipping. According to your rationale any one who works a second job is double dipping. REDICULOUS. I m sure you are aware of the number of people are working 2 and 3 jobs just to get by these days. Lint on is no different. If he can pick up a few bucks as a part time DJ SO WHAT. That's his choice and right to do so like any one else. By the way, he is quite good in that role.

To 11:01AM ~~ The ONLY thing that's "REDICULOUS" here is your inability to either spell, or use spell checker!

Addenda to 10/28 5:07

Apparently after a meeting occurring today, there are now two additional supervisors added to the Greece security staff... SRO's are now in the chain of command and all guards must respond to those requests (orders?).

Is it lawful for a Police Officer to order a School District employee on school property if no Police emergency exists?

I guess that's what happens when you hire an entire supervisory staff of ex cops to run basic security in a public school!

I'd like to believe that the new Superintendent, BOE, and Admin staff would be looking very closely at how taxpayers(many of whom are employees) perceive the structural policies of the District and how those policies impact annual operating and legacy finances!

SCATS said...

To 5:23PM ~~ That's a very good question! I'd love to watch them squirm trying to respond to it at a PUBLIC meeting. Oops! Sorry. I sometimes drift off into fantasy ...

Put Greece Athletic District "Security" up against the "Student Assistant (goon) Squad" retired Deputy Steve Lemon built in Hilton Central if you want to see a nightmare. Hilton's Goons have pretty costumes, but even with $350,000 of TV equipment and an environmentally friendly clown cart, they didn't know fire extinguishers were blown off in the auditorium till the janitor told them.

Lemon even put together a for credit class for stoopddents on how to interact with the Popo when they got BUSTED, and the Bored Forever approved it.

It's a damn joke trying to hide a combat zone folks, and it will get nastier when busloads of city darlings arrive in Spencerport, Greece and Hilton to occupy desks that would sit empty without them. Fear not, even the income coming with the City Gangstas will be insufficient, grades will drop, and your taxes will rise.

To 3:01AM ~~ It's already taken that turn ... sadly.

Here's a little tidbit that is sure to bring smiles to the loyal followers of this blog
Nationwide
. 1 Applications for Police Recruits down 47%
2. Applications for teaching positions down 31 %

To 7:37AM ~~ I can't find sources to confirm your stats. I do see that the declines are wide ranging & widely variable. MAYBE it's a good thing in the long run. MAYBE we'll get only those who are truly dedicated to their chosen career path. MAYBE union jobs are on the way out ;)

It was on CNN orMSNBC NOT SURE WHICH. I HAVE A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT TAKE ON THE SINGNIFICANT OF THESE NUMBERS.EVEN THOUGH THESE ARE RELATIVELY HIGHER PAYING JOBS, QUALIFIED CANDIDATES ARE WALKING AWAY BECAUSE OF THE OBVIOUS MEDIA WAR ON COPS AND TEACHERS. ITS JUST NOT WORTH PUTTING IT ALL ON THE LINE FOR FOR A HOSTILE XATTITUDE AND LACK OF COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR THESE POSITIONS. I BELIEVE THE STANDARDS FOR COPS WILL HAVE TO BE LOWERED TO FILL THE REQUIRED NUMBERS. THE ESCALATIING VIOLENCE IN OUR SCHOOLS HAS MADE IT A DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT TO TRY TO TEACH IN LET ALONE THE SURVIVE THE VIRTUAL WAR ZONES.THEY MUST WORK IN, in my opinion, good teachers are an endangered species that is following the nationwide decline in General Practice Doctors

To 11:02AM ~~ On the issue of teachers, we were MASS PRODUCING them, as teacher factories like SUNY Geneseo and other similar local institutions churned them out by the 100's every spring!

You'd be hard-pressed to find any other subject area where a Masters degree is so easily obtained, or where the employment offered such great perks.
