'Slide The City' Fraught With Problems

WHEC-TV reports: "Many people are looking forward to cooling off on the giant water slide when it comes to Greece later this month but Slide the City has had a bumpy road as it tours the country.

Our affiliate in Hampton, Virginia reports the event was delayed because chlorine levels were too high. The lines were so long, firefighters say 20 people were treated for heat exhaustion. Syracuse.com says there were also issues in Pittsburgh where some participants were injured."

SCATS ~~ The only thing more ridiculous than bringing this to Greece would be setting it up on the 104 median! This is a catastrophe waiting to happen.

Prepare for "the city" to ascend on the town, ruining yet another attempt at a family friendly event.

Can ANYONE tell us WHY this was a good idea? It seems to me that it will cost us dearly in security/police/traffic control. To what end? Lawsuits for injuries?

Unless something about this company (and how these events are staffed) has changed, this is a disaster waiting to happen. The reviews and comments related to other places this has been attempted paint a picture of near riots.

Couldn't we just slick up that giant snow sliding hill behind the big golf tent out there at Ridge and Manitou and run water down that sucker? My boy Wrangler and his girlfriend slipped in there one night when it was raining good and Wrangler says it was a fast ride but his voice went up a couple notches cause his Wranglers tightened up on his crotch. He said nobody even came out of that big balloon tent and chased em or anything.
