Wow! Huber must feel like a real dirt bag after complaining about being ousted only to have "his" team go all the way and not win only a Section V title but go on to win States. He led his team for all those years and never did they get where they got this year with a first year coach. Julia must be on cloud 9 after leading that charge. This just solidifies the action taken against him. One kid said "he was an OK guy but he was a terrible coach, always played his favorites"

To 8:03PM ~~ TY Julia for writing in lol :)

PS ~~ What coach DOESN'T play their favorites??

He always played his favorites not the best. This I have heard as I talked to many parents and this win validates it.

To 11:55PM ~~ In what way did he "favor" them? Maybe HE thought they were the best ;)

All I know is that I am happy that he is gone and the the kids were able to enjoy something that has eluded this team since the beginning. All coach Butler did was he coached to the players' strength and he was able to get the most out of every individual player. This showed in the games where it just wasn't one player that stepped up but multiple players. I don't know what the information the BOE of education had but in hindsight it was the best decision for the team and winning everything is just the "cherry on the cake". To the parents that objected vehemently to his ouster, you can now sit back and enjoy the fruits of that ouster.

BTW, I am not Julia but someone who agreed that the decision was in the best interest of GCSD and the students. Let's just say I am a happy parent today because of that decision. :):):):):):)

BTW 11/18/2014 8:03 PM, Butler is NOT a "first year coach." He's been around Greece for a long time.

To 6:04PM ~~ I'd be happy if Greece could find a way to come in first in NY State in academics. That's what matters most, or should. Over the last 30 years, we've won various titles, but never for EDUCATING the kids. Sad!!

The judgment of the athletic director at Athena should be questioned.

Based on whst? What did she do?

To 2:29PM ~~ I suspect it's more like what wasn't done.

Isn't she the past Odyssey AD became a defacto DO supervisor of AD's who was then demoted into her current position?
