Why Did Town Replace Roof?

According to the document linked here, the Town of Greece sought bids to replace the roof on the Dewey library branch in Oct. of 2013.

WHY WOULD WE DO THIS IF WE DIDN'T OWN THE BUILDING??

WAS A NEW ROOF ACTUALLY INSTALLED??

WHY WOULD WE DO THIS IF OUR LEASE WAS ALMOST UP??

WHY WOULD WE DO THIS IF WE DIDN'T INTEND TO STAY??

The current location of the branch library is a bad lease. Town is responsible for all building repairs. This is why the new administration is ending this lease and not renewing it.

Did I miss something? Where did it say it was for the library branch roof?

To 11:39PM ~~ Thank God we have Reilich to save us!

To 11:47PM ~~ Yup, you missed it. It's in the link, pg. 2 under "Intention."

GCSD also spent millions renovating the Hoover drive building two years before the school moved. Then it was sold for less than what was spend on the most recent renovations.

To 11:15AM ~~ GCSD spent $$ on buildings they closed! Don't try to make logical sense of ANYTHING GCSD does! They've all got "advanced degrees" are so much smarter than everyone else ;)

I do not believe Augie ever executed the contract for a new roof on the branch library and Reilic never did.

To 5:48PM ~~ What about the other buildings?

What do you base your "belief" upon?

To Scats at 12:06 and the previous poster. GCSD spends money freely as anyone would spend money freely if they didn't have to earn the money and didn't have to stay in a budget. They waste money when they upgrade a building that will be sold and then sell it for less than the true value. They don't care because it isn't coming out of their pockets. Maybe the administration lives in Greece and maybe they don't. Yes they pay school taxes but they are partying with our tax money. They are spendthrifts and we can't do anything about it. It is a game to them. "Let's see how generous we can be with the Greece residents' money." Promoting giving raises to themselves along with perpetual medical benefits. Let's spruce up buildings and then let other school entities buy the buildings for far less than they are worth. Will we get a special thank you note from the schools that bought those buildings? All the deals are made in back rooms by people that get off on power.

To 6:58PM ~~ You are 100% correct, but our BOE who must approve all of this LIVES IN GREECE. But as you say, they get off on the power ... and the camaraderie ... and the parties at Babs' lake house ...

Does this mean the Welcome to the Town of Greece sign moves too? Ultimately the borderline which has become basically invisible because you no longer see Greece Police anywhere in the vicinity of the Dewey Stone area period.

To 3:38AM ~~ Are you saying that Me Chief doesn't cater to the Dewey Neighbors Group the way Baxter did? Hmm ...
