'Security Film' Slows Entry To Schools

"Security Film is like thick plastic bonded to the glass, making it tough like rubber. It takes a few minutes to break through and there’s the risk of getting cut."

STORY

SCATS ~~ This is a MUCH BETTER security investment than the one for keeping Registered Sex Offenders out of schools. This film will deter vandals, too, a better application, but less "newsworthy" than keeping an armed intruder out ;)

Realistically, it's just another product with limited usefulness. Do you think an intruder with a gun will give up & go away when firing at the glass doesn't gain him entry? Or do you suppose he just MIGHT turn his attention to shooting at the door lock? Maybe it depends on whether he had a public education and let the Common Core curriculum keep him from advancing ... ;)

WHO is promoting this crapola?
The Reilich Group perhaps?

Somebody needs to read some FACTS on the film product. I'd suggest the 3M Company's web site.

One of the big reasons for film on the windows of occupied commercial space is to assure the broken glass leaves the window frame as a unit rather than 1000 shards.

Who is dumb enough to believe any window unit installed in a Crista built building is secure to begin with?

To 1:43PM ~~ They often do commit suicide, in the end.

To 3:35PM ~~ Good point about Crista!

I suppose its better moey spent than whats spent on the joke of the security force GCSD employs....

To 3:36PM ~~ As I've stated many times in the past, those who "served" under Rahn and said nothing are suspect as far as I'm concerned. Here's a perfect example, right?

to 3:36 and 4:12
Whatcha gonna get for $9.50 an hour? Mickey D employees?
How about handcuffs, pepper spray, and tasers to make the little inner city cop killers at least believe the guards can defend themselves!!!
Prolly better than scanning a scammed or out of state false ID!!!

To 5:43PM ~~ I guarantee you Chatterton gets a lucrative salary from GCSD.

He's not security... He's in charge of security under Nelms and the Super.
Therefore his salary has no bearing on the real staffing, nor the ability of his guards.
How about he gets fired, Nelms is put fully in charge(thereby earning his salary), and the district hires an equivalent number of capable additional guards using Chatterboxes salary savings!!!

To 5PM ~~ I believe EVERY expense has a bearing on staffing.

As for Nelms, he's much TOO busy moonlighting to help save East High.
