Happy 'Labor' Day'!

Father: Do you know, most people don't have to work today, because it's Labor Day.

Son: If people are not working, shouldn't we call today 'No-Labor Day?'

NOTE, not a single UNION teacher will do a damn thing today that might be considered work.

It's pretty much like what they will do on the 180+ days they get paid to drive to school.

To 12:44AM ~~ Come on now. There are a few decent teachers who care ...

More than a few - there are whole schools of teachers who care.

To 9:54AM ~~ You are probably correct. They just aren't in Greece ... unlikely they are in NY state.

I feel sorry for all you bitter people, I know MANY Greece teachers who care. Are there some who don't?. Sure, but I also know retail clerks, truck drivers, mailmen, doctors, secretaries and more who also don't care. Not caring isn't limited to just teachers.

They are definitely in Greece and everywhere else.

To 2:11PM ~~ No need to feel sorry, because you are confused. There's a difference between those who have experienced the problem time & time & time again ... and being "bitter." I think they call it being jaded ;)

To 6PM ~~ Where's the proof?

I work with them everyday - and I can see how much the kids benefit from interacting with all the school staff. Never once have I seen any staff member act in a way that shows they don't care. That's my proof.

To 7:50PM ~~ Of course, you yourself are an employee - automatically jading your opinion. My experience has been totally different. And I am not alone, based upon the private messages that start landing in my email by mid-Sept. and continue until late June every year. THAT'S MY PROOF! ;)

Oh WOWIE.
Just after Labor Day we learn we can all apply to join the Greece Wannabe PD.

Just think, join up and you get to sit in an air conditioned fake police car pretending you're important, and you won't get paid for doing it. You get to block roads and piss off drivers, because you aren't as good as the North Greece Fire Police, but you'll get a uniform and a genuine 2 way radio with speaker microphone to clip on your shirt.

The Greece Special Police Department is looking for new recruits.

The Greece Special Police are certified by the state as part-time peace officers after training is complete. Duties of this department include assisting with traffic and crowd control during emergencies and special events and patrolling parks and schools to ensure grounds and buildings are secure.

All candidates will undergo a thorough screening and background investigation process. To be considered, applicants must:

Be at least 21 years of age
Possess a High school Diploma or the equivalent
Be a resident of the Town of Greece
Possess a valid New York State Driver’s License
Be able to volunteer a minimum of 12 hours per month

If you are interested, you need to send a letter of interest to:
Greece Special Police Department
Attention Recruitment
647 Long Pond Road
Rochester, NY 14612

To 3:40PM ~~ I saw that "ad" on the noon news. I resisted the urge to post it ... but you wrote the editorial commentary so here it is. TY ;)

Wasn't Pretend PD pretty much run and owned by 1st Bible through the Hairburger administration?

What happened?
Did the Pretenders get their asses kicked when they got rented to the Hilton Carnival?

To 1:43AM ~~ I heard they tried to convince the people they got corraled into the Citizens Police Academy that they could be helpful by volunteering with the pretend cops for a next step. I never saw the logic in it.
