"One Bad Day" Caused Amber Alert

WHEC-TV reports: "Cassidy Geffert appeared in court Thursday and was told by a judge that she will no longer have to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet. However, she will still be monitored under supervision and has to abide by a curfew.

Representatives from pre-trial services say Geffert has been 100 percent compliant with her monitoring and has undergone a mental health evaluation. The teen's attorney says Geffert has received a number of letters from the community supporting her.
Sarah Wesley, Geffert’s attorney, said, “She's smart, she's talented, she's kind and she's typically responsible. I think what this comes down to is one bad day. We are all entitled to have a bad day here and there. Thankfully, nothing more serious came out of it.”
Police say Geffert say she stole a gun from her home and left a fake abduction note with blood on it. That set off a massive search. Police found Geffert unharmed hours later at a motel in Brockport.
The judge also is allowing Geffert to go on vacation with her family."

SCATS ~~ Imagine what might happen if this girl ever has a bad week!!! As expected, she gets a mere slap on the wrist. We can thank Judge Schiano for being lenient.

Let us not blame Judge Schiano for the sheer stupidity of our GPD specifically the investigative unit, which is led by a juvenile himself who needs some serious training in basic investigative work. He should go back to the police academy. This character doesn't even bother to interview key witnesses.

To 7:52PM ~~ Here's the deal ... it took the cops HOURS to declare an Amber Alert. I place the responsibility for that decision squarely on their laps. However, this girl did author and bloody a note to create lots of concern & confusion while she was "missing." She stole a gun, a car and hours of services from public safety personnel. For THAT the judge should hold HER accountable.

Those investigators were working really hard, from the looks of those d and c photos. They did not look very concerned. They were laughing and smirking.

To 8:23PM ~~ Maybe they were mentored by the professionals at DPW lol ;)

Rich kids buying their way out of crime. Sounds familiar in the Town of Greece.

Similar to a case in PA where a friend of yours son was caught selling drugs in his dorm room and fled the state. He was later apprehended and returned and rich daddy has now filed a civil law suit while criminal charges are going forward. Son facing prison time.

What difference does it makke at this point? I mean really. Show me a teenager that is not full of drama. Why is it that the writers of this blog never have anything good to say about anything? Seems like a total waste of time and life to sit around and nit pick about everything under the sun. No town is perfect and nobody is perfect. Move to another town, and i bet within a matter of weeks youll be blogging about that towns problems also. Jezzz!! I mean really? You must be the pic of perfection, the way you blast everyone else. The police did their job. Get over it and move on! Heres an idea, try "reporting" on something positive. What a concept that would be.

God forbid the police crack a smile. Y'all read to much into everything. They do a job NONE of us would have the guts to do, and all you people can do is criticize. Shame on you. If you can do better, by all means have at it.

To 3:04 & 3:09PM ~~ I am pretty sure you wrote both comments. The "difference it makes" is the message sent to OTHER TEENS about what this community will tolerate!

My family & I have a LOT invested in this community, so as I've said to the RIDICULOUS notion we should move if we don't like it, I decided to stay and push the powers that be to FIX WHAT'S BROKEN. I know that will annoy you even more, but it's our perogative :)

As for the cops "cracking a smile" it puzzles me WHAT would be so amusing about a stolen car, a stolen gun, a missing teen, a bloodied note and a frantic parent that all put together required an AMBER ALERT!

So yes, they are criticized, because the rest of us just don't get the joke.

To 4:12PM ~~ Not to me. I never heard of it until now.

Once again, I think someone "thinks" they know me. Obviously, they don't.

If I sent you the police report and link it would take away the game of cat and mouse that you yourself so clearly like to play. Let's just say the apple doesn't fall too fall from the tree with regard to this kids dad no matter how hard you try to spin it. Selling drugs in his dorm room where the tuition is similar to u of r. Truth always comes out. It just takes time.

To 4:39PM ~~ By all means PLEASE send the link.

Again, I have NO IDEA WHO you are referring to. In fact, I really wish I knew some "rich daddys" ... I could use a loan.
