Mother Advocates Against Abuse Of Autistic Son By GCSD

Sam Maloney ~~ A Gifted Photographer & An Autistic 14 yr. Old Greece School Student.

Last night, Sam's mother complained to the Greece Board of Education that she wants an IEP for him and she wants the abuse he suffers in school (restraints/seclusion) stopped.

Five allegations of abuse have been lodged against the district. (See photo of injury HERE)

SHARE Sam's Facebook page ~~ "Sam was restrained on May 13, 2014. The school uses abusive tactics to hold down our kids. They are called Take Downs and they did a three person take down on this day. After the take down they held him on the ground for 13 minutes. I am doing everything I can to take Sam out of this school for a different placement and the District won't release Sam from the constant abuse that happens in this school. I will not stop until the abuse stops."

My heart goes out to this mother! How awful to have to endure such abuse when your child needs help and understanding. God speed to you both!

Shame on the GCSB for not releasing this child to another, more appropriate educational situation! Why won't they do it? Any answers from the official spokesperson?

To 3:32PM ~~ The only thing the new Bobblehead Prez. would say was "Mrs. Graupman is working on this."

OK... Not to sound cruel or uncompassionate but...
What behavior requires that school staff "go hands on" to protect this child from injury to self or others? And if lawful techniques from certified TCI or CPI trained individuals are performed? What is the complaint?

Why is he enrolled in public setting if Mom is uncomfortable with that? She has a choice and cannot be mandated by GCSD as to which school he attends. Unless of course, Mom wants some sort of free ride, with special accommodations, which are outside Public Education policy.

If Public Facility is inappropriate, other agencies will intervene and place him as necessary, unless need is unproven!

To 4:52PM ~~ Of the complaints I heard last night, mom wants an IEP which her son deserves to have. Also, there is NO "lawful" reason for her kid to sustain visible injuries after a day with adults in school! That's just the tip of the iceberg, capisce?

HA! What a joke. In my experience, she works on nothing but rambling on and on about how great the *leadership* is throughout the GCSD. There's lots of head nodding and promises of following up. In the end, it's a bunch of crap. Challenge her and there's nothing but silence. This mother will get nowhere with that.

To 6:47AM ~~ I am SURE you are correct. If Graupman were doing what needs to be done there would be no need for mom's adventure into the board room.
