Will Greece PD Add A SWAT Team?

http://www.9-1-1magazine.com/FTF-Virginia-MCC-Rally-2011

On June 4th, a "Special Meeting" of the Greece Town Board was quietly called. Only three items were on the agenda, and they don't appear to be the kind of business that couldn't wait for a Regular Meeting. Two related to grant applications for Badgerow & Braddock's Bay Parks.

The third item though, is eye-catching:
Grant authorization to purchase via an on-line auction a police mobile command vehicle not to exceed $20,000.00. Payment for such vehicle will be sourced from drug seizure funds. Further authorize the Supervisor to execute all related documents.

WHY does Greece PD need a mobile command vehicle?

WHY are we purchasing a used one "via online auction"??

WHAT will it be used for?

WILL GPD be developing a SWAT team?

Isn't MCSO's vehicle satisfactory?

Greece leaders need a swat but no the vehicle kind. Why so many hush hush special meetings. Is that the new protocol for dirty deeds.

To 9:35PM ~~ It does appear to be a new habit forming.

WHY does Greece PD need a mobile command vehicle?

Because DaDa Chief had one and MeChief wants his own

WHY are we purchasing a used one "via online auction"??
Because it's a bargain. It's a no sale in a previous auction, and can be had cheap

WHAT will it be used for?
To drive over to Gates and shoot some poor dope out of a house just like DaDa Chief did.

WILL GPD be developing a SWAT team?
Most definitely!
It allows MeChief to distribute tons of overtime bucks to his close in team who can be so kool in their SWAT suits.

Isn't MCSO's vehicle satisfactory?
Absolutely NOT.
MeChief will be the MAN with his Bigger Better SWATmobile.
Image baby, IMAGE.

This monster dwarfs the City's Armored Car in photo op chances. The SWAT commander can take it to schools, carnivals and Churchs and show off.
Naturally MeChief will paint his name on the side, maybe the Stupicvisor too. Car shows baby, it can go to car shows and make the Stupidvisor really hot S*!^.

Did I mention sex appeal to holster sniffers?

AND, when we get bored playing "Preventing Canadian Invasion" we can sell the supertruck and give all the machine guns to the Sheriff, just like last time.

Coming Attractions
The New Police Boat.
Just as soon as a GPD command officer gets a salesman job with a boat dealer, unless we buy the one in a current online auction.

We are the PD, the mighty mighty PD. Move along, nothing to see here!

There may be a need for a mobile command vehicle. If I recall correctly, there used to be an old panel van that was used for that purpose.

They could use it for periods of disaster (ice storms, blizzards), large events (festivals, carnivals, etc), as well as police incidents. Also, the online auction route seems wise if they're really only spending 20,000. I'm pretty sure vehicles like this cost upwards of

Hey! You never know . We might have another Holiday Inn type situation and they won't have to borrow a motor home for a command CRT like then.
BTW The way things are turning over in this town both the vehicle and Swat Team will be needed, The department did have a SWAT Team in the seventies.

Any type if hostage situation would necessitate the establishment of a command center to coordinate operations. A mobile one would be of enormous value. Why buy new when a used won bought in the manner prescribed will be adequate.
To :8:46 Your signature style used to post along with the substance is a testament to your insistence in continuing to try to impressing us with what you think you know about the past is most telling. You seem to be stuck in reverse. Try joining the world of today instead of bringing up vague shadows of the happenings of 40 years ago.
Trust me, nobody cares or is interested in your rants other than yourself. So sad.

Will we still call 911 to have the SWAT team come and murder our flys or will there be a special number.

Maybe it will be employed to enforce parking and dress at GCSD facilities.

Obviously the MCSO and State PoPo SWAT units are overworked already and won't be able to protect us from the invasion of Canadians in canoes.

It obviously hasn't entered the brains of Greece politicians another town is dumping this turd due to operating costs.

To 4:03PM ~~ They always used MCSO's in the past. Just like the K-9 unit, I think this a territorial acquisition largely for show, more so than actual "need."

To 5:25PM ~~ Reilich dumped GPAS, stopped some of the senior bus services, hiked fees to use park facilities, etc. These guys will live like kings while the rest of us suffer & struggle. Same ole, same ole ...

Why on earth would we need a SWAT Team if we are a town without crime????

SKATS 5:25 Wrong again. The county cut bus service for the community center. Reilich bought a new bus to keep it going. He restored the service. Oh by the way he located a 80,000 new bus that the town was able to purchase with a grant for 38,000. Now try and fault him for that!

You can tell Jason Helpless or Hank is posting (8:46AM) is posting. It is clear Phelan #2 has daddy issues, he will never live up to his old man no matter what he does. He can bring back the red stripe and white shirts, SWAT, command vehicle and pct 3 he is still a disappointment in his fathers eyes. on top of that little Phelan has no experience in the department, which shows in his CID. They could not turn a light on in a dark room. Bill will be wishing he still had Baxter when this guy is of probation. Another poor choice for a chief! 2;49AM was on target, vote them out.

To 10:29PM ~~ Do you mean RTS service? Whatever, you are talking about a COMPLETELY different issue. Nice try though. Seniors have been left out. Heard it directly from head of a senior group.

OK Folks, I'm going to interject here. I'm really not liking the kinds or quantity of comments I'm getting about a certain police chief & his father. Let's try to keep it to the PRESENT and NOT get into personality or appearances or other issues from long ago. If you want to complain about something the current chief has done, fine. But daddy's habits from 20+ yrs. back, not so much. It's just not relevant.

I found an online auction with a Fire Department selling a Zodiak boat.
The boat is still under $1000-.

Should we alert MeChief?
He could use it on Round Pond and Braddocks Bay. He could use it in the Canal too.

Bring back GPD Marine Division.
