Top 10 Things GCSD Needs ...

Does NOT include a diving coach!

This is why school budgets are failing

The Greece Central School District had an ad in yesterday's paper looking for a Varsity diving coach. Hey, if you want to learn how to dive, go get a private coach. Don't rely on the taxpayers of Greece to do it for you. WTF? This has gotten out of control. This is the main reason Irondequoit's budget was shot down twice is a row. Wasteful spending. If your kid wants to learn how to dive, YOU spend the money to teach them, not the taxpayers. Irondequoit will not have modified sports for 7th, 8th and 9th graders for the upcoming school year because of the failed school budget. GOOD!!!!!!!!!! Go join some club and play your sports. Don't rely on the taxpayers to fund your kid.

is currently seeking a Women’s Varsity Diving Coach for the upcoming Fall Season.
Candidates must hold a valid NYS Teaching Certificate or eligibility for a
NYS Temporary Coaching License, valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates, and
willingness to enroll in and complete the Coaching Eligibility Program.
Preferred credentials include two years sport specific upper level coaching
experience and strong leadership skills.

SCATS ~~ As we've said so many times before ... we can no longer afford to be all things to all people! Parents MUST step-up & provide these kinds of opportunities for their own children, because the community can no longer afford to do so!

Oh sure, no diving coach.
How do these people expect our sweet little Beckie to get into Penn State to study for her degree in Homeland Security? Diving is the only thing she's good at.

Now she may have to look at a degree in tow truck from SUNY Alfred.

Shame on Greece Central. You're destroying our daughter's future.

Tom Golisano us a graduate of Alfred He didn't do too bad!

Sorry 3:15 Your lovely daughter @ 250 lbs is a bit large to be diving.
Tow truck or tractor trailer driver may be more appropriate. May the district will hire a "Driving Coach" as well..

To 10:02AM ~~ Or maybe she can sign-up AND PAY FOR Driver's Ed like everyone else.

10:02 for your information her last weighin was 272¼ and she's Greece's main hope for the high cannonball.

Beckie has very high self esteem thanks to GCSD teachers consistently encouraging her to grow.

To 3:52AM ~~ LMAO!!

3:52 I think most of us understand what you meant, how ever your unfortunate choice of words was red meat for the lionesses that maintain this blog. Good luck to Beckie.

To 9:56AM ~~ Lionesses??? Ha ha ha!!!

Hold the red meat. Shrimp will do.

Has there been similar posting for a reading teacher to get our kids up to grade level reading? I, for one, would like to see some focus on academics.

SCATS said...

To 7:44PM ~~ Not that I'm aware.

You do realize the "S" in GCSD stands for SPORTS, don't you?

SCATS said...

Just checked the GCSD website and this position is NOT listed. I wonder why not ...

Wow so much for the name calling rule. Way to show your true colors again SCATS

SCATS said...

To 4:26PM ~~ WHAT "name-calling" are you talking about??

Anonymous said...

7:44- I'm not sure district employees can spell big words like 'academics.'

NHC in nip is like THC in pot.

So now theres something wrong with sports? Wow.

SCATS said...

To 9:49AM ~~ Obviously, you are new here. The issue with sports in Greece Central is that they reign supreme! When the chips are down, they cut textbooks, teachers, electives, cleaning supplies and just about eveything else you can think of ... but they won't cut sports programs, uniforms, equipment or coaches. It's a matter of messed up priorities.

Reallly 10:02,3:52 you yourself laughing at their comments about "over weight beckie". All those comments are rude and uncalled for, yet youre LMAO.. im sure youll find a way to make light of it tho, then cry when someone post a negitive comment to you or one of your lackies.. its a known fact that kids involved in sports are less likely to be running the streets..

Really thats funny, my daughter is in every club, takes all AP classes, is in the NHS, has won a ton of academic awards. She doesnt play any sports. My other daughter takes advantage of the GPD PAL program. I think you just seek out problems to spew your hate for everything that is Greece. If one of my children were gifted in sports, id have no problem paying for lessons etc. My younger daughter played modifid softball this year, and i have to say, her coach was a vollyball coach and clueless.. shell stick with PAL from now on..

No im not new. Ive lived here for 16 years. Have 4 children, 3 of which are still in school. Insted of ragging on sports, why dont you talk about those students who were allowed to grad this year, not because they deserved to, but because mommy made a huge fuss. Lets take about how a student who missed close to a year of school due to their own problems, was aloud to walk with the grads that did the work to get there.. lets talk about that. Or is mommy a friend of yours?

Good Morning, Don (8:02-8:21AM)!

Looks like you've been a VERY busy fellow this AM ;) You certainly DO HOLD GRUDGES, don't you?

PS ~~ Even the kids who take AP classes are REQUIRED to take remedial English and often math classes in college these days.
