Just what we need. Not.

I do feel bad for children in any type situation where their housing/living conditions are less than ideal.

To 6:51AM ~~ We're already the THIRD POOREST CITY in the US! I think we're #1 or #2 for impoverished children besides. This will only be adding insult to injury. I wonder WHOSE idea this was? Will Lovely be onboard?

This is what Washington wants - now shut up and do what they say.

If the Center is in Greece, why would the Mayor of Rochester have anything to say about it? Also, I wonder if anyone in Greece will have anything to say about it, either to "reject" or "accept". Sad as it is, it would be interesting to see the town officials to get a taste of their own medicine. They can be rather deaf to the community's voice when deciding where to put new buildings, new businesses, etc.

To 10:51AM ~~ I was just wondering out loud ...

Reilich already gave his 2 cents worth by saying the building is 90% occupied currently.

Greece is a federal dumping ground to wit, English Village, White Swan etc, although in the case of the village, the town sued and lost in an effort to stop the project, They deven dismissed our building codes and built it their way. So public input? FOGETABOT IT. These projects never happen on the East side of the county, Ever wonder why? In the eyes if the Feds, we are expendable and irrelevant and lacking in political clout to make them think twice about dumping on Greece.

Watched news at noon, so within 24 hours of everyone learning about this Reilich heard from residents and responded by telling the people involved "no" and stopped it from happening. Hooray!

And now a new PROJECT just north of Athena, listed as over 55 but intended to house the CITY CRAP, living with Sh!t family members at extreme additional cost to GCSD. Educating miscreant RCSD transplants who falsely declare homelessness, have no jobs, tons of entitlements, and no willingness to address their Children, Grandchildren, or other relatives status as assh)l# students that detract from our "Good" and "Proper" suburban students, whose families buy houses, pay taxes, and choose a good public education. Gotta hate what the Liberals brung us 20 years ago!!!

To 5:18PM ~~ I really don't think Reilich is all that.

Schumer says he doubts the Feds were seriously considering Greece since he hadn't been told.

To 6:18PM ~~ Isn't that the one that caused outrage when it first came to the Town a couple years ago??

Apparently feds were touring the facility only hours ago. Reilich wasn't in attendance.

PLease tell us more about the "over 55 project". Is this the one on Latta Rd east of Long Pond?

To 9:36PM ~~ Apparently, he was out of the loop. I heard the feds toured on Friday & Reilich was asked about it by media on Sunday.

The one being built on Latta is for people waaaay over 55. And they have to be of limited income which isn't too hard around here after they suck us dry with taxes. And you are right about children. Even though the main tenant has to be over 70 they can have occupants of any age according to the NYS law. If the occupants have a child that child gets to go to Greece schools. That would be Paddy Hill .

Call the town building dept. They will confirm age requirement of 55 and available section 8 subsidy. That means with the "mckinney-vento" act, any qualifying parent or grandparent can house a child from RCSD as homeless, get entitlements, and register said miscreants into GCSD - elementary and Athena!

To 4:14PM ~~ I find it MOST odd that Greece is HELPLESS when it comes to homeless kids, BUT other districts SUCCESSFULLY fight against the onslaught as admitted to by one Greece BOE member!

I do NOT believe GCSD cares about the quality of education they deliver nor the cost to the residents ... unlike certain other better performing schools. GCSD loves to play victim!

5:18pm Oh really Chuck! From today's D&C - According to an email released by U.S. Rep. Louise Slaughter's office, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislation Fatima A. Cuevas said the site in Lexington Commerce Center was inspected and "would not meet our requirements for the unaccompanied children effort. Consequently, we will not pursue that site further."

To 9:38AM ~~ It's obvious that Reilich was blindsided by this entire affair! He's obviously on the outside when it comes to FEDERAL issues lol
