Reilich Speaks About 390 Shootings

“It is hard to say. There have been some incidents there on 390. I would avoid it, but we really don't know what we are up against at this point.” ~~ Bill Reilich, Greece Supervisor

Our Greece supervisor sounds better than the Gates supervisor. Assini from Gates says it was debris from the hard winter somehow falling on a truck. So it fell from the sky on its own from Buffalo Rd? Even if it was not a bullet as he says (since he is smarter than the state police and the sheriff and the FBI), debris from a pothole on Buffalo Rd could not levitate and then drop on the lower 390 to accurately hit the area of a rear track cab window. So with his theory of "debris" a human would have to help the "debris" over the side of the overpass.
I think Reilich gave us good advice when he said "I would avoid it". There is no destination in Monroe County that is not accessible using non-expressway routes. It is inconvenient and there are more intersections and lights but we are still able to use other routes. And realize that if this is a crazy sniper/spree type, he will adapt and could use other overpasses that are on regular roads. Of course people will still take a chance and use the expressways. Let's hope that law enforcement is monitoring possible future crime areas.

I hope the Supv's comment means that the GPD is now investigating again and that the case is still open. It seems that if he believes there is reason not to drive the expressway, there needs to be some increased patrols or observation at overpasses or some proactive police work underway.

In a few months he will be saying "I don't recall."

To 6:48AM ~~ I'm STILL trying to find reason to hope it's NOT a shooter, but that's gotten tough when people are coming forth with holes THROUGH THEIR FENDER!

To 7:29AM ~~ It seems to me that somewhere law enforcement SHOULD BE TALKING TO US! State cops, FBI, MCSO & local agencies are ALL involved. I would like to hear what THEY THINK!

To 10:25AM ~~ ONLY if he has to testify ;)

Scats I must have missed something. I don't recall hearing anything about bullet holes in fenders being reported. If this is true, the caliber of the bullet could be determined .

To 3:07PM ~~ It's like the whole "if a tree falls in the forest ..." situation. Just because you or someone else didn't hear it, doesn't mean it didn't happen, right.

Ch 10 reported on Friday evening about a guy on Dewey who had pics of his broken windshield from a couple weeks ago (he feels he is sure it was a bullet, and they also reported that: "Police in Greece say they did receive a call from a person after Thursday's incident, which had damage to their fender a few weeks ago and wondered if it might have been from a bullet. Police were unable to determine what caused it."

Nonsense , A bullet hole leaves a specific finger print when penetrating sheet metal.

6:01pm And you know this because you watch CSI! Do you have you secret decoder ring on today as well?

To 10:43AM regarding 6:01PM ~~ First of all, not all fenders are made of "sheet metal" and second, I've never heard of "road debris" puncturing an auto body before, have you??

Anonymous said...

No, you just have to observe a demonstration or have personal knowledge of what metallurgical effects take place when a projectile such as a bullet penetrates a fender of an automobile . FYI, I have had both experiences. So places your sarcastic uniformed comments in this regard where the sun don't shine.
Scats, that's a pretty weak argument on your part . And yes, given the quality of the metals and composites used to manufacture today's cars, it is very possible this could happen BTW be careful not to lean too hard on your car door or fender. As it could result in serious damage to the shape of either.

To 2:17PM ~~ A "weak argument" according to whom? You?? lol You can barely construct any argument at all in the written form.

By the way, a "weak argument" doesn't make it an impossibility. AND I heard on the noon news today that the MCSO investigation is ongoing, so THEY MUST BELIEVE THERE'S SOME CAUSE FOR CONCERN ... ;)

Is anyone else here noticing that all the brouhaha has ceased. No more road closures, no more claims of assassins on bridges or hiding in knolls, no more claims of irrefutable bullet holes confirmed by CSI, and no more hallucinatory please look at what happened to my car stories?
Maybe this extremely illusive Zaytsev, Mawhinney, Furlong, or Hatchcock has moved on? Or really never existed! OOH, I know, another episode for TWILIGHT ZONE!!!

To 6:37PM ~~ Perhaps you should read my previous remark.

" AND I heard on the noon news today that the MCSO investigation is ongoing, so THEY MUST BELIEVE THERE'S SOME CAUSE FOR CONCERN ... ;)"

Perhaps your rumors and innuendo are as meaningless as what you make mine to be and have no bearing on the truth.
I repeat, no new occurrences, no hard evidence, no witnesses, and if as you claim - pictures of the purported bullet holes in metal? Oh none? Just glass fractures from all that's in evidence so far. That makes this guy a magician, not just a sniper!

To 5:55PM ~~ Believe whatever you like. It's NOT my job to change your narrow mind.

PS ~~ There are pics of the H-O-L-E through the window for the driver on Dewey Ave. WHERE are the results of the tests State cops were having done on the semi? Where is the CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT for the fellow whose car plowed into the garbage truck on 104?? Do YOU believe they would tell us IF THEY KNEW it was a shooter??

Is your definition of narrow minded the definition of someone like you, who believes without evidence, their single opinion, that happens to be framed by a personal bias against all public employees? Or someone like me who simply asks for proof and logic - i.e. the pictures I requested? The repaired pics of the dewey ave vehicle show mouldings damaged. How does a single projectile do all that damage? It looks more like tree branches or other more significant extraneous impact than a single projectile. Why do you quote the MCSO as your source while maligning Greece's finest - don't both have equally sordid and honorable histories? What criteria do you use to debase one dept. while honoring the other? I believe that if there is physical evidence of a shooter, the recovered bullet fragments would have been matched to the ballistic sample taken at manufacture of the firearm used.

To 8:51PM ~~ First of all, YOU FAILED TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS.

Secondly, you say "without evidence" yet YOU HAVE NO EVIDENCE that it's road debris.

Thirdly, I have NO IDEA what you are referring to when you wrote this jibberish: "The repaired pics of the dewey ave vehicle show mouldings damaged. How does a single projectile do all that damage?" WHAT is a "repaired pic"? They showed the CELL PHONE PICS OF THE DAMAGE TAKEN BEFORE REPAIR!

Fourthly, YOU are using YOUR OPINION instead of ANY EVIDENCE at all.

Fifthly, your perception that I am honoring anyone is entirely misconstrued by YOU!

I believe that if there is physical evidence of "road debris", the recovered pavement/stones/etc. would have been matched to the damaged vehicles. Oh wait! There is NO recovered debris!! Nevermind ... ;)
