Why The Dems Won't Ever Win In Greece

This "invitation" to Reilich's re-election pricey fundraiser ($250 minimun!) recently arrived in a neighbor's mailbox. Notice that he just took office on 1/1/14, but is already planning to run again and working to fill his re-election coffers several years in advance.

In comparison, the Greece Democrats will wait to name their candidates in the April-June time frame in the year of the election. They will have little to no funding!

It's interesting to note the envelope for the RSV & the money is addressed to:

Bill Reilich for Supervisor
232 Torrey Pine Drive
Rochester, NY 14612

That address is where Reilich's Chief of Staff, Michele Marini, lives.

Thanks for posting this Scats. I didn't get an invitation but want to support our new Supervisor who I believe is doing a great job so far.

It might be nice if the dems offered some ideas.

To 6:36AM ~~ Please tell us what he's done that's "a great job?"
NOTHING comes to my mind aside from making Greece govt even more closed than it already was.

To 7:10AM ~~ Or better yet, STARTED PLANNING!!!

6:36 If you are that pleased you should be able to have lunch with him for the price of the food. He could be your friend.
Since this is news to you you obviously weren't invited.

What is not written on these invitations meant for select people is ATTENDANCE IS NOT NECESSARY. HOWEVER YOUR CHECK IS REQUIRED IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REMAIN A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY IN GOOD STANDING.

To 1:10PM ~~ And town employees especially ;)

This fund raiser is not for his reelection coffers. It's meant to replace the 20K paid to the woman whose car was demolished by his drunken son while driving a town plow.,
Which was taken out of the Monroe County Political Action Committee or PAC Highly illegal by the way. She was supposed to keep her mouth shut for this amount. Something she neglected to do as she told her friends and you know what usually happens when that happens.
What's that old saying, if you tell someone a secret, you have to kill them to keep them quiet Maybe next time, they will opt for this method instead .

To 1:44PM ~~ You and the others need to find something new to talk about. Even if it's true, this story is getting old.

1:44 PM Total fabrication. GPD investigated it when the rumor was floated and then again the FBI. Their was no truth and just a vicious rumor to try and damage someone. Keep spreading the bull.

SCATS said...

To 4:30PM ~~ How would they investigate something that was only ever reported here? Ask big Bill: "Did you do it??" No other names were ever given, as I recall. lmao

Anonymous said...

They talked to people that worked around the time the rumor states it occurred and anyone that might of been in a position to be aware of something. All came back negative. Again to separate investigations by two agency's all came up with zero. Nothing more than a fabrication in an attempt to blemish someone. I agree with you Skats, its a 12 year old rumor, move on.

To 5:46PM ~~ Of course it all came back negative! In this town they protect each other and the skeletons in the closets remain. One thing I've learned FOR SURE ABOUT GREECE in doing this BLOG: If there's a rumor, the BASIS for it is most likely true, even if the details are off.

To 6:19PM ~~ He doesn't have to lift a finger, because Babs is seeing to that all by herself.

Look, everyone knows the union boss at the highway department has it out for Reilich because his son was given a job there. The union doesn't like when certain people are given jobs besides their own friends and family.

IT HAPPENED, I WAS THERE !! Everyone questioned took the equivalent of the fifth as did I " don't recall" after all we all had our jobs to protect .

SCATS said...

To 1:08PM ~~ I'm sure you did.

1:08 PM You are right I was their as well that night and it did happen. It just wasn't the person driving that everyone here is talking about. It was another DPW worker lesser know to the public but protected by the former County Chair not the current one.

Morelle has apparently found someone to run for Reilich's seat. Is it Dave or his wife????

SCATS said...

To 8:11PM ~~ Your feeble attempt to try to confuse people won't work.

To 9:49PM ~~ I doubt it would be either of them. The Mr. is recovering from some serious health issues.

The word around Democratic circles is that its gonna be former cop and current liberal rabble-rouser Gary Pudup. Great news for the GOP as they'll now retain this seat. Bad news for the Dem party and folks looking for change. SCATS is right, when will the local democratic party EVER LEARN!

The Dems need a a new party with new leadership, The current bunch of confirmed loosers need to be kicked out after over 20 yrs of incompetent leadership. Until they do, I can see no reason why Reilich and his party need to raise money for the next election
As for Morrelle, the only person he ever raised money for was himself. Everyone knows that and thats why.the county Dems are broke. He has to go as well if they are ever to compete in county and local elections.
Rita has lost twice in a heavily democratic ward. It makes no sense to run her for supervisor or for that matter any other elected office in Greece.

SCATS said...

To 8:39AM ~~ I'd vote for a rabble-rouser in Greece, especially him :)

To 10:58AM ~~ Yuuuup!!!

Anonymous said...

Looks like it is Gary P. I think any dem could win this seat if they find the right message.

Anonymous said...

What do you mean by "rabble-rouser?" He's a retired cop, for crying out loud.

Anonymous said...

He was head of the local ACLU and holds positions that are clearly NOT in line with the voters in this district. Watching the town boatd meetings on tv, i noticed he's finally going to meetings. Just like Dave and Rita Garretson, and any democrat candidate, they dont "care" about the community until they're running for office. Gary gets pounded in this race. Once again, the democrats blow a chance to win something around here.

SCATS said...

To 7:54AM ~~ You're amusing. The position that's "clearly in line with Greece voters" is to tell them you aren't raising their taxes ... then you let the assessor raise their assessments, let Maggie slap on some extra "fees" and let the BOE do their number magic ... after all of that, you run again and say "See? I didn't raise your taxes!!"

PS ~~ He's Reilich's neighbor. Maybe they "share" the scoop lol

I don't recall seeing Reilich at the Town Board meetings either ;)

Anonymous said...

Silly Skats he sits in the middle and is at every meeting. I know you don't mean before he became Supervisor as we all know he was the New York State Assemblyman and in Albany Monday - Wednesday. Point being made is every Dem that wants to run for office in Greece starts attending town board meetings in January until the election, then they loose in November and we never see them again. As Einstein said doing the same thing over and over again.

SCATS said...

To 7:01PM ~~ Relic did NOT bother attending Greece Town Board meetings BEFORE running for Supervisor, SO WHAT MADE HIM AN APPROPRIATE CHOICE???

Anonymous said...

Scats you know very well the answer to that question. Thet don't have to attend meetings to be qualified. Just have the R-C- I designation attached makes them qualified. On the other hand the Dems don't have that luxury along with name recognition and believe exposure at meetings , talking at the public forum will get it done.
When I was a member of that group some years back, I kept preaching that any potential candidate needs to get actively involved in community functions to be a serious candidate worthy if placing his or her name in play. Of course I was p-------g into the wind as the inept leadership thought that was not necessary. Although Garretson got involved in the Northgate Group after most members quit after the Walnart defeat . Too little too late as usual.
A two party system does not exist in this town as it once did 20 or so years ago under aggressive, politically smart leaders. Ironically, most of them left the reservation all together and became Reps. All who did were elected to public office as such.

SCATS said...

To 11:12AM ~~ Since the others changed party, then ran & won, MAYBE the Dems should do it too. As far as I can tell, changing your party doesn't change your philosophy. The proof is in the fact that Greece has had some of the most LIBERAL Republicans I've ever seen!

Why not ask Mr. Lawrence, Gary's opponent, if he has any positions that differ with Bill and the G.O.P. leadership in Monroe County. Press him for examples. My guess is that he is a rubber stamp just like the rest of the caucus.

If you have an original idea or approach that differs from Monroe County GOP orthodoxy, expect to be taken to the woodshed by Principal Bill, with double-secret probation to follow...
