Who's Enforcing The Laws?

Take out the trash in Greece (Greece)
Another example of the trash in Greece....

1...A school bus driver caught buying and using drugs....PAIN PILLS while they are driving YOUR kids to and from school...what a looser...
The school should do a better job screening their drivers.

2....the bus driver trash that smokes on school property... Is that what parents want driving their kids? Bus drivers that smoke ...on school property...

AND a drug user????

SCATS ~~ From what I recall, allowing smoking on district property could result in a loss of federal aid to the district. Where's the enforcement?

What about the trashy parents who allow their underage kids to smoke period. Maybe they should be arrested as well.

To 4:46PM ~~ On district property, it is GCSD's problem, not the parents (directly).

I can't put this together. Am I ignorant or out of the loop on the accusations. Who is using drugs while driving a bus - proof please? And so what if an adult smokes? Adult smokers are not criminals. And smokers aren't bad drivers. And sorry SCAT's, but parents are directly the problem, they don't seem to understand that possession of cigarettes, e-cigs, oil for e-cigs, lighters, and other paraphernalia are illegal for minors - especially on school property. So when they argue, defend, or create hearing issues to debate the topic - they are siphoning the time and energy of school staff trying to enforce the policies of schools and State law!

To 5:47PM ~~ YOU are definitely "out-of-the-loop". It has been illegal for ANYONE to smoke ANYWHERE on school district property for the better part of 20 years.

PS ~~ Sometimes kids obtain contraband when their parents aren't around, shocking I know, but true ;)

This is no different then not vigorously enforcing all policies regarding behavior on school grounds including the hallways and class rooms
Kids being kids will always challenge the rules . I'm OK with that. But once explained to them that that's the way it is, most will comply provided the policy is being seen by them to be evenly applied. That in my opinion is the very root of the policy implementation problems that lead to confusion and lack of respect by them because of unequal application on a building by building enforcement or non enforcement administrative attitudes in this regard.
The blame game aside, until this district to an emplyoee , begin to abide by and enforce ALL district policies to the letter, these kinds of incidents will continue to spiral out of control.
The success of any organization is usually accomplished by strict obedience to rules and regulations. Until this district does likewise, the educational process and success of our students will continue to be compromised.

To 9:37AM ~~ B-I-N-G-O!!!

I do believe you understand children!

Sadly, not even the Greece Board of Education follows the policies they create! Greece Schools lack TRUE LEADERSHIP from DO right on down the line.

Are you reading Babs??

Go back behind odyssey any given afternoon and you will see the bus drivers walking back behind the garage and trees and smoking. Yes that is still district property. I pick my child up and see this go on every time. Obviously the super or the principal care to enforce such behavior. If it were a student I am sure they would be in trouble.

To 9:11PM ~~ When did they build a garage behind Odyssey?? Is there still a paved pathway from the side of the school (near the door to DO) that goes over towards Wegmans? That pathway isn't totally on GCSD property, but belongs to the Town, I think.

It is the small garage that is to the right side when you pill in the back parking lot. It looks like some small equipment is stored in there. The drivers to behind there and smoke daily. The path that used to go to wegmans is no longer there, the constructed a fence blocking any entrance to wegmans property. From what a security guard told me it was done because they were dumping too many cigarette buts in to wegmans parking lot. I think employees should be held to the same rules as students.

To 10:09PM ~~ Oh, OK. I think of it more as a shed, I guess. I thought a fence went up, but I also thought the path went around to the Tim Hortons area. GCSD employees have little respect for other people's property. I blame it on the union influence.

And what about the parents who are smoking in their cars, in the BUS LOOP (it says BUS LOOP for a reason), while waiting to pick up their kids???? And what about the attendees to the sporting events smoking their cigs, cigars, and pipes???? So before you throw the bus drivers under the bus, take a look at what you and your kids are doing first. When you live in a glass house you shouldn't throw stones!!!!!

To 3:12PM ~~ ALL of the things you point out are in addition to the previously mentioned problems and are due to a complete AND total FAILURE BY GCSD TO ENFORCE THEIR POLICIES!!!! It IS a school district problem, NOT a community issue.
