This bum is old news. Bury it . Two bimbos trying to cash in is not new Besides, he's broke. Why ain't they suing the town as well, they got the money but their lawyers don't want to go there because of the burden of proof and the publicity generated by taking action against the town.
If PIGnato acted under color of law , the town could be held liable for his action whether on or off duty.

To 2:30PM ~~ They ARE suing the town! Try reading for meaning ;)

Oh , never read it. Just responding the your head line. Just proves what I said, two bimbos and two scumbag lawyers looking for a quick go- away settlement. Never make it to court or trial. Town moves for dismissal and Judge throws it out as frivolous .

To 4:23PM ~~ You are entitled to your opinion, as unfounded as it is.

Those women were violated and the town deserves to be punished. The only way the civil court can do that is with damages. We allowed Auberger to get elected. He did the bidding of a strong arm in the community and pushed Pignato forward to Rahn who caved. Even after we knew about this he got re-elected. And how did this man get away with his actions and attitude without his fellow officers knowing. We should all be ashamed.

Shame on the DA for not prosecuting this as what it was RAPE instead of coercion. Pignato is a predator who should be forced to register as a sex offender. How many more Pignato's still remain on the Greece Police force should be the question.

Hi SCATS,

Regardless of what these 2 women had/have done, it appears they were coerced into sex in lieu of going to jail. Dare I say they were raped.

I don't think they're "bimbos". A uniformed, armed police officer is at your house and says "sex or jail, you pick".

I think if the town attorney is smart, they will suggest a settlement quickly.

As far as Rahn and Pignato, maybe just the satisfaction of a judgement will be enough to help these 2 women. I'm sure neither one is in good financial shape.

SCATS, can you tell my why Auberger was not named in the suit? He may no longer be Supervisor, but it was under his direction that Rahn hired Pignato.

Thanks again! :)

To 8:43PM ~~ It never occured to me that he doesn't have to. Good point!

To 8:46PM ~~ You ask the million dollar question!

They had a choice. They made bad ones. If your not guilty, tell it to the judge and what options they were given.
If there was a reason to go to jail, you must be guilty or at least the presumption of guilt exists, right? They chose to take the easy way out . Hey, they didn't go to jail did they? It's called a CIVIL COMPROMISE.
This is not so as to defend this sicko but there was an alternative. Just say NO and do what you gotta do creep and deal with the alledged situation that compromised them in the first place.
This the reason the DA chose not to prosecute in the first place. Nothing available in the form of evidence to prove a rape or for that matter that there was evidence of intercourse recorded at the time the alledged rape occurred . All they had was SHE SAID HE SAID to work with not enough for successful prosecution let alone get an indictment.
As for Auburger, again he slips the noose. He should be charged as an accomplice if this was a crime because he and ony he hired this barn yard animal inspite of his record in the city PD. No hire, no incidents that disgraced this town by this low life.

To 1:17PM ~~ When it came to "MAKING BAD CHOICES" nobody did it better than Pignato himself! And he was supposed to be upholding the law, what a HUGE joke!! I'm sorry, but cops should be held to a HIGHER STANDARD than the others. It's not like he didn't ABUSE/MISUSE the power of his authority/badge!

Besides, the definition I found for "CIVIL COMPROMISE" doesn't fit this situation at all!

"A civil compromise is a method for which those charged with misdemeanors can potentially have their cases dismissed. Common crimes that are most often compromised include theft and assault."

I think when police or public officials accept a bribe or worse solicit and accept the bribe, that is even another crime. So he extorted them into sex, he supposedly knew they were in violation of parole etc and covered it up, he trespassed in that woman's apartment, he solicited them to give him sex in exchange for covering up their supposed infractions? The Pignato guilty verdict shows that he and the town are responsible for all of this. They will probably settle. There will never be the satisfaction for the community to hear the public officials squirm on the stand.

In an organization of about 75 members at the time that this predator was doing his dirty work it is incomprehensible to me that no one had any idea what he was up to. I think that the sad reality is that the "Good Guys" looked the other way. All of you boys in blue need to look in the mirror and have an introspective moment of self examination. The next time one of your"Brothers" gets out of line what are YOU going to do? The right thing is the only thing to do. If that is not the way you think take off the uni quit living a lie and go be a plumber or something.

To 3:10PM ~~ Very well stated! And triple the introspection time by adding in Schammerhorn, Ball & Joseph!
