Teacher and Adminstrator pay does not get us better educated kids! I look at some of the salaries these public employees are making and it is ridiculous considering our educational outcomes. Once the unions got a hold of our educational system we have gotten nothing but a downward spiral of dumb ass kids coming out of our schools in this state.

To 7:14AM ~~ I have received no comments other than the two you see here. If you wrote the first comment, then you need to realize that they get held until I have the time to review and post them. Otherwise, this BLOG would be filled with SPAM, vulgarities and other nuisance postings. If your comment is not the first one, then something must have gone awry. Please try again.

Do you have a job, SCATS? You sound an awful lot like a scorned former public employee.

To 11:25AM ~~ Really?? Which words did I write that gave you that impression??

BTW, if you've been reading this BLOG for any length of time, then you already know that my personal life isn't open for discussion, since I am not the topic here ;)

Worth remembering when reviewing public employee salaries: public employees get many other forms of supplemental income, allowances, etc that add to their take-home.

It's not like private industry where your salary is what you get paid and additional duties are assigned as needed by the organization without extra pay.

To 12:42PM ~~ AND these salaries are for 10 months of working 6 hr. days with a liberal number of holidays and vacation weeks intermingled (for teachers).

To 1:26PM ~~ Her Tweets still use Williams ;)

6:42 The unions have nothing to do with low performing students. Let's place the blame were it really belongs
Government bureaucrats interfering with the educational process and pretty much dictating how are children are taught
Lack of adequate parental support. A 50% factor of our students coming from one parent some times totally dysfunctional situations.
For the record, I'm not a teacher. Never before have out teachers been asked. To perform duties in the class room usually done at home early on in their children's life. Family values and the big one, basic respect.. That is not their job but unfortunately, some lazy parents expect teachers to perform those functions as well
As for me, you couldn't pay me enough to teach under the conditions that exist in our class rooms today. If anything, teachers should receive hazard pay for teaching in the dangerous environment that exist in some of our modern day class rooms of which Greece is no exception.
ITS EASY TO PLAY THE BLAME GAME AND DEFLECT RESPONSIBILITY TO OTHERS That seems to be the norm these days.
If you want to see a reflection of this statement, I SUGGEST YOU LOOK IN THE NEAREST MIRROR.

Tweets are one thing but official documentation is another as in Tax filing etc.

To 7:13AM ~~ REALLY!?!? In REALITY, the GOVT got involved on a deeper lever because SCHOOLS WEREN'T PRODUCING EDUCATED GRADUATES!!

Parental "support" is only one factor, and likely not as significant as you would like us believe, based upon your other remarks where YOU ARE PLAYING THE "BLAME GAME."

When you say that "basic respect" is not the teacher's job, you are insinuating that a 5 yr. old entering kindergarten is a little adult in children's clothing! THAT'S A BIG PART OF THE PROBLEM!

Children learn throughout childhood! It takes years to instill respect, manners, teach them "right from wrong" etc. There are so many things that teachers say "it's not my job" that I wonder WHAT IS their job ... Oddly, Greece teachers have lengthy lists of what the parents are supposed to teach the kids, but then turn around and profess that NO ONE ELSE could EVER do what they do! What a crock ... look in the mirror, indeed!

To 9:57AM ~~ I'm pretty sure that neither of us are privy to that info ;)

Maybe the question would be better asked
"How much SHOULD teachers earn?"

This blog is right, it's all the teachers fault. The state assessment grades that the schools get should be tied directly to teachers salaries. Then we'd certainly see change!

If Greece were able to trade teachers with the Pittsford school district then the Greece central school district would get the same test results that Pittsford has in the past! Problem solved!

Oh, and teachers only work 6 hr days and NEVER work over any of the holidays or vacation weeks! They also don't hold masters degrees or have to attend continued professional development in order to keep their license. HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA

To 6:26AM ~~ I hope you had a second cup of Joe before taking on your students after a 9 day break!

If SCATS is SO jealous of a teachers 9 day "break", "6 hour" work day, and the amount of money that they make, and find fault with everything that they do, then why don't you just become a teacher yourself and fix the issue?

To 9:12AM ~~ I'm guessing that it just might be for the same reason that you don't become a BLOGGER and recognize the trouble when it smacks you in the face ;)
