Slaughter Endorses Dick Beebe

Congresswoman Louise Slaughter officially announced her endorsement of Dick Beebe to be the next Supervisor of Greece, Saturday morning at Beebe’s campaign headquarters, 2888 Dewey Avenue.

“Greece needs Dick Beebe’s Brand of Open Government,” said Congresswoman Slaughter. “I’ve known Dick for years. He is dedicated, hard-working, and honest. He is exactly the person Greece needs in the Supervisor’s office at Town Hall.”

He's honest... except for when he lies.

I love politicians.

To 11:29AM ~~ That's like the old joke: "How can you tell a politician is lying?"

And this will help Dick how?

Yes, but does he utter untruths at the rate of Republicans in this twon who are running for office? Let's be sure we need a change in goverment in Greece and Reilich does not represent change!

To 6PM ~~ Doubtful. They've got years of double-speak practice in!

Sorry, but most citizens of Greece don't care what the congresswoman thinks. In fact it might prove detrimental to a candidate. It's not like Matt Damon and Sean Penn came by to endorse.

The Dems already gave us "change" in the white house. No thank you, not again.

Will there be valet parking? I hate to leave the manure truck just parked on the street, especially Dewey Av.
That neighborhood is so downhill lately people might gather around the truck thinking it's Louise.

Her endorsement ought to get at least 200 Democrats to vote for Reilich.

Is Louise bringing a teleprompter to read her spontaneous remarks from?

Have we reached bottom yet with Slaughter coming to Greece, or is there farther to sink?

Wait a minute. A Louise Slaughter siting in Greece NY? No way. Gotta be a mistake.

She doesn't even know where Greece is. Well, she did say... in Europe?... one time.

Close enough.

I guess that's the best we can hope for from her.

Actually Slaughter has been at a number of events in Greece in the last couple of years.

Say what what you want but as I remember she kicked the crap out of your Miss Brooks recently. An example of class over no class what so ever.Maggie couldn't win even after they gerrymandered Her district to favor Three Chins.

Isn't Slaughter one of the intellectuals in congress who voted for obamacare so we could find out what was in it?

Anonymous said...

12:40 yes she has been at a number of events over the last 12 years. I've counted and that number would be 2.

To be fair most of the time during the last 12years the period the poster cites, Slaughter's district has only covered a very small swath of Greece. Recently she was at a meeting with Kathy Hochul at town Hall to met with seniors, at a fundraiser for her campaign and at a dinner honoring her with the Greece Dems at Barnard Exempts. I think there may have been more but I can't say for sure

Slaughter makes her way around her district only when she's campaigning.

What was her big claim to fame last year?

Oh ya, she passed a law that federal government employees cant do insider trading. Big freakin deal! That's the best the old lady has?

Oh ya, she was a fast train to run for 50 miles of so to run in between nothing!

Oh we're so lucky to have her.

I almost forgot!

She's friends with Richard Giere!!!

Well shut my mouth and slap your grandma... I'm sold!

We have own very own Strom Thurmond right here in Rochester.

WARNING ~ I'm receiving a large number of ridiculous, juvenile and meaningless comments. They will NOT be posted.

The Republicans in Greece should be ashamed ... VERY ASHAMED!!

Just a dang minute SCATTS.
Greece Republicans sent Fred Eckert to Congress, and Fred enabled Louise to get elected.

Don't go blaming Republicans for Louise. Just watch her on Cspan and remember she was in Public Education before politics.

Louise proves things started downhill long ago.

To 12:58PM ~~ I wasn't blaming the Republicans for Louise, just for their bad behavior on this BLOG.

So often reps and politicos say they will get to the bottom of something. Then the corrupt people they are about to expose find something vulnerable in the past of the crusader. Everyone has something or someone they want to protect. The more corrupt find these achilles heels and strike. That could explain Louise's apparent inaction on correcting the cloud of corruption systemic to Greece.
This has been around since before we all were born. It started with Sheriff Skinner from what I've heard from many now gone. He ran Greece as well as the county. He held court like a mafia don. He did favors for people. He mediated solutions to neighbor problems. Like a driveway dispute put to rest with the town putting a little cement barrier between the neighbors. He was in charge. The police were even more bullies then.
Who is in charge now? Is it a fire chief that spends the day in a coffee shop receiving fans? Is it a hairdresser/barber that receives the chosen few in his establishment? Do we want him to have all our property information at the ready? Is the recently paroled chief back to being the "godfather" in someone's testimony. And yet we still can't seem to bother to pull the lever for the other candidates. I'm sure there is a skeleton in everyone's past, dem and republican alike, but let's get someone else from an opposing party on that town board. All it will take is one. And then we have to make sure they don't intimidate him or her after election.

To 9:17AM ~~ I'd be much more comfortable with two.

If Beebe wins and does not bring along at least one more democrats, he will be rendered impotent by the four republicans who will stifle any attempt by him to bring about change in the way business has been done in this town forever. Even with one new board member, they will be out voted at meetings. The only thing two democrats on the board would change is the fact that a second to one of their motions will require the motion to come to the floor for discussion. Now each member will have to go on the record prior to the calling of the vote. Only three democrats will make changes possible.

SCATS said...

To 10:50AM ~~ I disagree! Even one Dem on the board will be able to get topics heard by the public that are now totally hidden & kept secret.

Agree with scats. And especially if that one is the supervisor. He can set the tone. He will know everything that is being brought before the board. He can make sure that the meetings are posted and open. He can promote discussion.
