Greece Police: "SHOP IN GROUPS"

13WHAM: "With the holiday shopping season around the corner, police anticipate thieves taking advantage of crimes of opportunity.

“The basic common sense is the best thing. If you're out and something doesn't seem right, don't put yourself in that situation,” Lt. Casey Voelkl with the Greece Police Department said.

Lt. Voelkl urges shoppers to keep their personal belongings out of sight. And shop in groups if you can."

SCATS ~~ Who knew that we've gone from locking your car & trunk to parking in lighted areas to shopping in groups to stay safe shopping in Greece? Why not just go to Eastview Mall instead?

And this would be so whole groups of shoppers could be mugged, thus improving the efficiency of the mugging industry?

To Ben ~~ I hadn't thought about it in that context! You may have a good point ;)

Flock of vulnerable shoppers. Like a "Sam's Club" or Value Pack for thieves and predators.
Safari. Only the strong survive as the weaker slower ones are apprehended by the villains.

I prefer Eastview by far. Much less monkey business among the crowds there.

Anon: I know one thing. You got to watch hitting the key remote to blink the lights or beep the horn to help you find your car in a sprawling public lot.

The muggers can get to your car ahead of you and wait for you while hide behind or next to it.

The best thing to drive them away is to wear a huge Barry Manelow pin on your coat or put one of his CD's on the dashboard. They will totally leave you alone - like unto a cross to a vampire.

Or maybe on-line shopping?

Ben...I have found the easiest way to find my car is to have the oldest car in the lot with an outdated color. I never have to blink. Anyone remember the 70's when cars had different colors? Now they are all just different shades of pale. Probably lots of fans on this site that remember that. Not speaking to the lurkers from Town Hall or the GPD or FD or the Greece Schools administration.

Gotta love the GPD telling you how to stay safe, because they sure are not going to do it. Maybe, instead of parking in empty parking lots around the town they could patrol the parking lots of the mall, and other shopping centers.

To 8:11AM ~~ Agreed! They have returned to the same behavior they showed when Rahn was around. Maybe because Baxter has become MIA??

SCATS: You are correct, MIA is his middle name. No direction from the top. He loves the spot light and not the one on the cruiser.
