I think it's great that there will be some GPD presence in the schools. However, is there anyone else that's disgusted with the current GPD presence on Ridge Road. The number of idiots riding crotch rockets with illegal exhaust, speeding, recklessly weaving lanes, and wheel-standing light to light is absolutely terrifying. Perhaps the GPD ought to focus more closely on Ridge first. And only after they have that situation under control - remove road patrol to place into schools!

ONLY if they get paid overtime to do it. The sro jobs pay a lot better with less work.

When the patrol cars are doing 60 mph on our streets they should have lights and/or sirens on. Or will Chief Todd look into this after some kid gets killed or some poor soul pulling out of their driveway expecting the traffic to be going 35.

To 6:24AM ~~ I'm not sure the OT will continue. We haven't been told any details of what "deal" GCSD made with the Town, but they had stated months ago they didn't want to be paying top $$.

To 6:29AM ~~ Those patrol cars should have lights AND sirens anytime they are SPEEDING DOWN THE ROAD! I nearly hit one on Maiden Ln a couple weeks ago that came out of nowhere alongside my car as I was about to change lanes to turn into Tops plaza!! I don't see cops in other towns speeding through intersections the way Greece cops love to do.

I agree with the Ridge Rd comments. Once the cars hit the light at North Avenue, they jam their foot to the floor and usually make the entrance to Sam's Club/Walmart doing about 60. With a good team of traffic cops, we could offer everyone in Greece a nice Property Tax rebate!
