The results of this survey have not changed much in 20 years. I remember Ray Page getting all excited at a school board meeting because 50 percent of the parents were satisfied with our school district. I could not believe my ears.

If you had customer satisfaction at only 50 percent of any business you would be out of business within a year. Of course the public school system is a monopoly so the people who work with in it and manage it could really care less. What are parents to do?

And the PTA has been usless for decades. This group is made up of a bunch of kiss ass parents who would never stand up to the system regardless of how many kids are getting hurt educationally.

Fundraisers........really???? I pay enough in school taxes. I refuse to give money when kids come to my door for handouts for soccer, football, cheerleading, baseball uniforms, equipement and out of town tournements. Parents are fed up too. If it is not covered in the budget I guess the little darlings will have to do without!

To 6PM ~~ Your comment about 50% causes me to wonder if they (BOE, admin.) think that survey results measure the same as votes counted at the polls - one more "yes" than "no" wins the budget battle for another year. Maybe they think 51% shows approval??

I agree about fundraisers! If you can't afford it in the budget and get it approved, then it's time to axe it! We can no longer afford to be all things to all students/families.
