Wasn't this the same meeting where they disappeared into executive session for hours and hours?

To 1:25PM ~~ Yup!! It sure was. What a surprise, huh? Julia has her own distinctive brand of "transparency" lol

This might not be so distasteful if it wasn't the boe's only indiscretion. But it's not........

Scats What happened to 1 thru 8 and possibly 10 and beyond. It would appear that at least 8 more were hired. Eight? Could it be possible that the other eight
were related to the other board members? Naw! If so, you would have had a field day. As usual nothing to see here or maybe, just maybe, this is a bit of IN YOUR FACE SCATS. LOL

To 2:55PM ~~ You asked a great question, actually. The other 8 are in a separate section on page 8of the minutes titled: "Substitutes."

None of the others are cleaners and none are BOE member's kids, except Zach, whose position was crossed out.

It appears that the BOE separated out Zach to approve him, so mom could vote to "abstain" and pretend to be on the up-and-up ;)

I believe one of the assistant supers sons is also working there in technology, being in charge of hiring has its perks. Funny how that works.

Oh puhlease.....if any of you had connections to a job for one of your cherubs, you'd jump on it in a heartbeat. Even if, GASP, the connection happened to share DNA with your little angel. Get over yourselves.

SCATS said...

To 8:32PM ~~ Julia isn't "working" ... she's a VOLUNTEER who got ELECTED. Big difference. And no, I wouldn't be using my connections for the very reason that Julia should not have.

Anonymous said...

Bahahaha, SCATS. Ok, right. Let's say your brother-in-law is an ELECTED official and your sweet son has aspirations for a career in politics. By chance, there is an opportunity for a paid internship at your brother-in-law's place of employment and your son expresses interest and, hopefully, is qualified to assume the internship. I'm quite sure your would encourage said sweet son to work at Applebee's instead because you wouldn't want to chance any perception of impropriety. Ok, I gotcha.

By the way, this is an ANALOGY. I don't know who you are (nor do I care) so, of course, I have no way of knowing if you even have a brother-in-law or a sweet (or not so sweet, for that matter) son. Just want to be sure you lose the opportunity to deflect my point by misdirecting your response to the mundane and banal curiosity others have in your identity.

So 8:32......, you see nothing wrong with the head of HR plopping her son right in to a job no questions asked when others who would have wanted it weren't even offered the opportunity. This isn't a family run business where it is ok.

SCATS said...

To 10:24PM ~~ I would encourage my child to go after whatever job he/she wanted, but I would not use my personal connections to aid in the task. Let them compete for the job, just as the rest must in real life, learning to fill out applications, maybe writing a resume, going for an interview. The overall experience of doing those things is PRICELESS! Zack lost out since his mom used the silver spoon approach ;)

And you know this....how? Perhaps she did exactly what you say you would do. She can't help it if her kid applied for a job with the district. Perhaps he did exactly what you would do with your child.... The fact remains that you are speculating (as usual) on how Van Orman's child actually secured a position with the district. You don't really know. Right?
And 8:32 - same question to you. Provide proof that he was "plopped into a job with no questions asked while others weren't even offered an opportunity" -- Oh yeah, you can't (unless, of course, you were dying to be a cleaner and were passed over).

SCATS said...

To 9:27AM ~~ I'll bet you also believe her kid went straight to DO himself to arrange for his private tutoring lessons, right? What a joke!!

Anonymous said...

9:27. ..in all of your infinite wisdom the other kid didn't wind up being a cleaner as stated earlier, he is in technology. I highly doubt that both of these positions were posted and BOTH kids were the most qualified. Keep drinking that tainted kook aide.

Well by damn I'm sure glad to learn all that special tutoring worked well for Julia's baby boy the Texting expert.

Who says there is no future for GCSD Graduates? He's in the fast lane now!

2 or 3 months from now that boy will be, wait a minute,
How's the boy going to be able to afford a home and family on the chump money GCSD pays him? Will he be given a raise to a living wage? Can Julia swing that move?

Over heard at the water cooler. Julia seeks another term as the Prez. Did you
ever notice how hard it is to keep good leaders down?

SCATS said...

To 7:12PM ~~ Julia is needed to help cover another "leader's" tracks, one whose life is in shambles and getting worse almost daily. Some things just won't get better by taking a cruise ;)

Hey 2:50: In all YOUR infinite wisdom did you bother to read the action from the board that is posted on the front page of this blog? No, OK - I saved you the trouble and copy/pasted it for you here:
Name Title Rate Effective Date Comments/Location
9. VanOrman, Zachary Substitute Cleaner $7.95

THIS is the position that people have their panties in a bunch about currently. This is what I am responding to.

SCATS - I wasn't talking about the tutoring arrangement and since I presume Zachary wasn't getting paid for attending tutoring, you are mixing apples and oranges. But if it helps you feel better about attempting to make your point....then, by all means, go ahead. It is you blog, after all, as you so frequently remind all of us.

SCATS said...

To 7AM ~~ No, I am NOT mixing anything. If you are going to believe in the fairy tale you proposed about Zack getting the job on his own merits, then you MUST also believe the other kid got tutoring without mom's divine intervention as well. Kool-aid doesn't discriminate, once you've begun sipping ;)

Anonymous said...

Why don't you present evidence that he DIDN'T get the job on his own merits???!!

SCATS said...

To 5:46PM ~~ We did!!! Mom is BOE Prez & this is Greece. What more need be said??? It's worked this way for decades!

Ever watch Law and Order? This would be circumstantial at best, but I suppose people have been executed for less. See the similarities? Wow. Do you REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY care that much about this issue?! I surely do hope, SCATS, that your paws are clean -- because sooner or later the jig will be up on who you are (I'm certain you don't keep that Cheshire-cat "all knowing" grin at bay too often when folks discuss this blog). Then let's see then what your back porch holds.

SCATS said...

To 7:53AM ~~ Nope, I don't watch it.

My paws are spotless, thanks for asking :D

PS ~ I don't have a "back porch"

I will get some friends and track down who is SKATS on the computer. Oh wait OBAMA has already done that for us!

To 10:18PM ~~ I'm already in Venezuela ;)
