Hoover Drive Property Sells For $2.5 Million

Discovery Charter School is moving from the Bishop Kearney building in Irondequoit to Hoover Dr. in Greece.
  • The NYS Board of Regents approved the move to Greece last March.
  • When the doors open on Aug. 19th,  there will be about 200 students in kindergarten through fourth grade.
  • Admissions are granted by lottery, with priority given to children living in poverty.
  • Discovery’s school year is 200 days for students, 210 days for staff, and the school day runs from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with an after-school program from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
  • Discovery will be the first charter school located in Greece.
  • About 95 percent of the school’s students are from Rochester.

I would send my kids to this new school over Pine Brook - at least there would be school personnel who aren't just worried about "how they look" or where they rank.

Pine Brook was great for my kids. However, the clientele has changed from what I hear.....

Achramovitch is getting fired on Tuesday July 2, 2013. Yes, he did try to resign, effective aug 9, but the new board is going to boune his ass early. Go to the hamburg ethics blog and check it out, or go to hamburgschools.org.
