Who Opposes GCSD Budget?

There are 21 pages of fluff in the pretty PowerPoint presentation, page 22 starts the numbers.
New school buses (no impact on the 2013-2014 budget...what about after that ?), teacher pensions costs....blah blah blah...

VOTE NO, twice, and then they will have to revert to last years budget number...see page 27$file/April%209%2C%202013%20Budget%20Presentation.pdf

SCATS ~~ For the last several weeks, someone has been religiously reposting the above to Craigslist.

I find it interesting that they have the "Twilight Program" a budget item YET they are asking for parents to volunteer to tutor. If they have money funding it who is getting paid?

The twilight program is a joke. It allows all the lazy kids to come in later in the day because they are too lazy to get up and get to school on time. And of course they get praised for making it to school and will be rewardedby graduating even though they don't do half the work of the kids that actually attend when they are supposed to. Great way to pad the districts graduation rates.

Readers need to look at what is being spent 'this year' and compare that to what the district is asking permission to spend next year. Make sure you are sitting down when you get those figures.

To 9:03; great way to set these kids up for failure when they enter the 'real' world.

I have not voted Yes on a school budget in 20 years. Why? Because the educational outcomes in Greece are and have been in the toilet for the last 20 years.

The idiot Superintendent and school board that approved the 1989Union contract for teachers in Greece helped our downward spiral. We taxpayers ended up with a union contract that cost over a BILLION dollars. Yes, a Billion and had NOTHING of benefit in it for the kids or taxpayers.

Vote NO on the budget! It won't hurt the kids. It will just keep more money from going into the union pockets.

To 6:38AM ~~ It's been almost as long since I started voting NO on everything related to GCSD too.

I wonder how much the expired but still in force GTA contract is costing us. The economy went into the toilet, but GTA still got (and continue to get) their raises!
