Off topic. If you haven't heard by now, one candidate, a woman of color, turned in a petition with less than the required 87 signatures. I always thought the
board should have more diversity on it given the demographics of the town, but geeze, we don't need one more member that can't count. Also, the petitions are line numbered which adds to the question of competence as well as consciousness. Let's hope she
gets some competition as a write in, or an already bad situation will be further compounded.

To 10:14AM ~~ Nope, I haven't heard. We're at an all time high for apathy about GCSD. Would this parent's initials be LA by chance?

How many petitions were turned in? Who is running? Any current BOE members seeking re-election?

If a petition doesn't have the minimum number of required VALID signatures, that person can't run anyway.

To be honest, I was hoping that fewer than 3 petitions would be returned. Then what would they do?? lol

Actually only three made the dead line including the deficient one. O'Toole will return along with a woman who ran last year and lost. SED Law provides two
remedies for the third seat. A write in candidate or if there is none, the BOE can appoint a person of their choosing for a one year term. The candidate
without the required signatures may still run as a write-in and serve a 3yr term. Interesting twist to a continuing saga. My take is that the African American lady will be a write-in and if not challenged, will win the seat with as little as one vote, easily beating out Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Clarabell and Jack Auburger to name a few of the clowns in the running.

It is easy to meet the goals of a technology plan when that plan lacks instructional goals.

Plan: Buy stuff.
Goal: Met.
