GCSD Prelim. Budget Hearing*

Mar 19, 2013 @6:30PM

It is anticipated that the BOE will go into an Exec. Session at 6:00PM to discuss getting sued up the ying-yang ... yet again.

To get up to speed on GCSD's budget propaganda: BUDGET INFO  (Note Scott Hoot's "resignation" effective March 23.)

* The offering of this"hearing" in no way implies that you will get ANY response to any question asked ... especially NOT a response that will go on the record!

Those who are unhappy... the budget one-pager at the link also gives a POC for getting yourself elected to the BOE. You can be the change you are waiting for !

To 12:55AM ~~ You did not tell the WHOLE truth ;)

The reality is that it takes FIVE (5) votes to accomplish anything on the BOE!! Even if you were able to run with two other like-minded folks, it will be 3 elections into the future before anything gets changed.

Perhaps I missed it - taxpayers gave more money last year and received a better product where? How about the year before? And on and on.
I did not see the figure for the 'cost per student'
Is it wrong for taxpayers to ask what they are getting for MORE $$ over and over? I read the article in the d+c this am and frankly it would match up with a budget proposal 2-3-4-5 years ago.

I have said for along time the public education monopoly is incapible of accountability improvement. Is anyone asking WHY? Obviously the board is not. Just shut-up and send us more $$. Sad!!

To Charlie ~~ They want MORE $$ to tend to fewer students with a reduced staff in fewer buildings.

I think it's called "New Math." No one in the "real world" can comprehend it!

I can tell you nothing improved last year with MORE money and next year all of my children will be in private school. I know of 3 other families that are leaving as well. More money more problems less learning!

What is the story with Hoot?

Why are the BOE minutes for January and February not posted on Board docs yet???

SCATS said...

To 4:20PM ~~ I have heard from many who plan similarly ... this district is on a downhill slide that our BOE & Bab's appear to be ignoring.

To 4:26PM ~~ LOTS of rumors about him. My belief is he can't stand being accountable (cough, cough) to the overbearing females running the BOE & DO.

To 5:45PM ~~ Because Lynne Armstrong was too busy becoming Bab's right hand sidekick to do her duties before Julia's gal pal took over (with no experience).

The January minutes are posted in the February agenda and the February minuted are posted with the March agenda in BoardDocs.

To 7:31PM ~~ NONE of the posted Meeting Minutes are "Approved Minutes." There ough to be a place on the GCSD website for the APPROVED MINUTES. There ought to also be an update made to the "District Policies" posted in one tab. What's there is ancient!
