MEMO from BDW
To: Scats

WE will NOT be talking about this matter.
Ya got that Mr Litterbox?

Remember, I am a paid PROFESSIONAL.

Would the kitty like a nice Pounce?

Maybe he's sick. Maybe he has had a family emergency. Maybe it's none of your damn business.

To 9:12AM ~~ Since "WE THE PEOPLE" are paying his salary AND since the posting says the position won't be filled until July 1, it DAMNED WELL IS EVERYONE'S BUSINESS ... but then you ALREADY knew that ;)

I have it on good authority that the Board has pushed him out with all their demands. They keep saying he's not Lou, he doesn't do it like Lou, we love Lou and want him back and yet they drove him away as well. He was tired of all their drama and crap. They have made this very experienced person run for the hills.

By the way Scats why didn't you jump on the news that the Board drove thier Clerk out. That job was posted and you didn't have anything to say about that. But I do know it was the same situation. The person that has performed the job for 10 years had enough and took another position in the district just to get away from them and all their petty crap. Why would anyone want to deal with the three witchy women on that Board. They know everything and can do everything better then anyone else.

Until we get rid of this Board good people will continue to leave in droves. Until this board learns that their job is oversight not getting involved in the day to day operations of the district we won't get any good to come here or anyone good to stay.

To 11:17AM ~~ Pushed him out? To where? Again, the job posting seeks someone to fill his spot as of JULY 1. Where the heck is he now???

Regarding the BOE clerk's position, what I've been told is slightly different than what you seem to be saying. The "other position" taken in the district, as I understand it, means the BOE has likely bent the law until it broke. Since when is it OK for the Board of Education clerk to assume ANY duties of the glorified sec'y of the supt. while still being paid as the district clerk?

Besides that, if they were filling that position appropriately & transparently, then the job opening for District Clerk should have been ADVERTISED ELSEWHERE since that is the BOE's own employee and not a "district employee" per se. But hey, I agree with you ... THIS BOE group is hellbent on ruining anything & everything GCSD ever had going for it.

Scats, I think if you check Education Law you will find that the only employee of the Board of Education is the Superintendent. Everyone else in the district works for the district. In many, if not most district's the District Clerk and the Superintendent's Assistant are one in the same. That is not a conflict of interest.

The board clerk is not an employee of the board. She is a district employee assigned to that post. The boards only employee is the Superintendant .

To 4:28PM ~~ Technically, yes. But in the interests of transparency & appropriateness they should have filled it using some oitside resources. I believe Hubbard Moscato & Oberg did that when they hired a new clerk. As I recall, at least two outside newspapers were advertised in during the search which was TOTALLY DONE IN THE OPEN. It kept us from inbreeding employees who are privy to all of the BOE's "secrets."

Of course, the BOE could always go beyond the minimum requirements ... but they are too spineless for that ;)

BTW, if the "Board has pushed her out with all their demands" then why wouldn't she complain to Babs about their poor treatment, since she doesn't "work for them?"

The current clerk was not hired by HMO. She has been in the position for 10 years and was hired by Walts. She had been Keller-Cogans assistant, it was part of the set up when Walts was leaving and they already knew they were appointing Meg as Superintendent. There was nothing transparent about that hiring at all.

Looks like the rats are leaving a sinking ship.

To 7:21PM ~~ I'm looking back in various files to try to establish her hiring date or at least the year. At this point, I can find reference to her only as far back as the fall of 2007 ... which would have made her an HMO hire.

To 7:36PM ~~ This is Greece where plenty of rats always remain to infest any new attempt to make serious changes ;)

Scats is wrong again, all you need to do is check the december 14, 2004 minutes and you'll see that the current clerk was appointed at that evening's meeting. Love finding you wrong.

To 8:07PM ~~ I'm well aware that you "love finding me wrong"! In fact, I am so familiar with your obsession (i.e. dysfunction) to do so that your predictability is better than that of my alarm clock!

Long ago, I realized that you sit there WAITING for an error ... then you sit there waiting some more, waiting to respond to my response!

So every now and then, I drop the ball just to keep your interest! Besides, YOU are one of my top fans. YOU make the pageview counter spin!!

It's too bad that you have NOTHING more urgent to attend to at either work or home. But keep watching ... I'll throw you a bone again ... several weeks down the road :D

Scats, how do you KNOW it's the same guy? (I have a theory.)

Definition of Irony: Scats saying "It's too bad that you have NOTHING more urgent to attend to at either work or home."

I've heard that the district is covering up for some sex scandal at Pine Brook. What gives scats?

SCATS said...

To 4:35PM ~~ Is that the one who was sending the "inappropriate" communications? Or is this a new one? So many predators, so little time ...

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure, but I would think the person be gone.

SCATS said...

To 6:52PM ~~ It's Greece & it's union business. Taken together, it usually means there's a long, drawn out legal battle until we can either buy the person off (out), make them uncomfortable enough to leave the district (pass-the-trash) or actually get a conviction (almost never). Until any of those happen, we continue paying salary & benefits.

Well I listened to the board meeting this evening and Julia and her group of witches got their way. They got rid of the current clerk and replaced her with one of their PTA buddies. Now she has a mole at district office who can spy on everyone and report back. Be on alert D/O employees keep it all on the down low there's going to be a mole in your presence. Of course you'll always know where she is because she has Voice that will grate on you. One can only imagine what there going to pay her can't wait for the minutes to come out. Good luck board you have a clerk with no district office experience and I'll bet you've pissed off the person you want to train her.

As a former board member I warned the clerk many time to watch her back that those woman were out to get her. They don't like anyone that makes more money then they do, have more brains then they do and can do a better job then they could and Lynne is all those things and more. But Lynne actually ended up on a better situation.

It takes time, but once again "the truth" has come out about Hoot's sudden departure. The hints were in the defensiveness shown by 2/25/2013 9:12 AM and by 2/25/2013 2:26 AM's point, which was totally on target.
