Greece Police Investigating Teacher

Greece Police are investigating inappropriate communications between a male teacher and female student. Text messages and emails had been traded between the two and meetings were arranged in public locations. The teacher has been reassigned to a non-instructional position since December, awaiting the outcome of the investigation.

On one other note, there's a teacher at OHS who has been suspended for striking a student, physically dragging the student from the classroom. A 280 pound teacher and a 100 pound student.

This too is at Athena. The student denies it and the teacher in question had socialized with the family of said student before the student was in the teachers class. It has been said that an ex boyfriend had made the initial allegation.

What are your thoughts on teachers interacting with their students on Facebook? Inappropriate?

To 7:20PM ~~ I think that ANY teacher who opts to make that choice is likely playing with fire. Same thing for using Twitter, email, texting, meeting outside of school, etc. If you value your career, why risk it? A handwritten note is a much better option ... or a call to the parents.

This would not be in the news if radio didn't ask chief todd about it directly and your blog didn't address it firsthand. Sad but true. Welcome to Greece.
