Is A Charter School Coming To Greece?

I'm hearing word from several different quarters over the last few months that the sale of the Hoover Drive school property just might result in some healthy competition for the Greece Central School District. Plans for a charter school may be in the works. We can only hope!

A school makes sense just reading the sales agreement you posted here way back when - the school was sold including all the academic equipment, from desks to Bunsen burners. That stuff is trash to anyone intending a different use, but capital to anyone intending to run a school.

To 11:38PM ~~ That's true. The bigger question about the building contents (in my mind) is why those items weren't moved for use at Apollo. There's more students there & at Olympia HS now than previously.

This is much needed. Perhaps GCSD teachers will shape up.

Wishful thinking.

And speaking of which--you would not believe the way some teachers talk to students at OHS and Arcadia HS. It's absurd.

To 1:36PM ~~ Actually, I would believe it.

Perhaps a Charter School could be the Dr Martin Luther King Jr. School. This would be a school that values, like Dr. King, education. Why do we honor a man who went as far as a PhD by giving the kids a day OFF FROM SCHOOL? Why don;t we honor his memory by having the kids in school studying the things he thought were important: social issues, social problems, social responsibility, and learning to read and write and think?

To 6:37PM ~~ Good questions! The answers are contained in union contracts your school board negotiated & approved.

Umm, 6:37, you might just want to recheck Mike King's degrees and the actions the granting schools were bringing for plagiarizm to revoke those degrees.

For the record I do recall Mike from being alive when he was running his dog & pony show. I didn't learn about what Mike did from Public School, I watched it happen.

Boy I bet ol Babsie is running scared this charter operation will steal her best teacher, all ONE of her best teachers.

It's just another chapter in the ongoing saga of As the Maggot Gags, and that ain't about the lunch room.
