To 7:49AM ~~ Blame Auberger for raising our taxes.

Blame the Republicans for their "Trickle dowm ecomonic" lies that we have been told for 30 years that was to produce all those jobs. The rich got richer and the middle class got eliminated.

If cuting taxes for the rich and trickle down was effective where are the Jobs?

This is the United States of America and look at the food lines. It is an embarassment on the Republican party. Add to it the lost lives of the men and women in the Armed Services. The trillion and trillon of debt dollars wasted on two wars over a decade long for what reason?

Shame on the American decision makers.

Does anyone really believe all those people were actually starving and desperately needed the hand out. No way. It was free food. Any time you offer anything for free, people will show up to get theirs. It is just human nature, nothing more. Since most of these people probably live in the complex, high taxes was not a factor. The operative word here is FREE!! this was the only relevant factor.

Oh yes I noticed the crowd they were certainly the top 2% crowd in their fur coats and fancy cars. The middle class and the rich, not the needy, would wait hours in the line for 40lbs of "free" food.

As a previous post stated, the word free fosters somewhat strange behavior in the human race.
Publically offering any commodity for free will trigger an automatic and predictable response among us humans.
People will wait in long lines to take advantage of the
"freebie". History tells us that we will wait in long lines to spend our money on perceived reduced prices advertised as a money saving sale. In this regard"BLACK FRIDAY" comes to mind when some of us camp out overnight to be first in line to save a few bucks on a particular item cleverly marketed by the Mfg as an item that is in short supply. Some of us actually get into physical altercations with others seeking to purchased the hyped item. An example of human nature returning to our primal instincts .Thus, my point is just this. If we are willing to wait in " bread lines" and even engage in violence to spend money, I see no reason to be surprised by long lines for items that cost nothing but our time.

To 9:49AM ~~ Actually, under Obama we've got RECORD NUMBERS on food stamps right now. In fact, the number just again just as elections were held. Let's blame it ALL on Bush, right? I don't think sooooo!!

To 12:48PM ~~ They didn't look all shabby either.

I did not blame anything on Bush. Don't change the subject!! You are just repeating the standard Repulbican defense "Your blaming Bush".

I am asking where are the jobs? If we had full employment, as we were promised with "trickle down economics" we would not have RECORD NUMBERS on food stamps. That is not Obama's fault.

We can't increase or return to the normal rate of 39.6% tax for those earning above $250,000 per year because they are the job producers. They have had the REDUCED taxes since 2000. WHERE ARE THE JOBS FROM THE JOB PRODUCERS? THEY HAVE HAD TAX ADVANTAGES. WHERE ARE THE PRODUCED JOBS FROM THEIR TAX ADVANTAGES OF 15 YEARS.

I wasn't even getting into politics. You made it a Bush issue. If you want Bush was losing 800,000 jobs a month at the end of his term. Fact not opinion.Obama is creating private sector jobs at about 150,000 a month. Fact not opinion. Almost a 1,000,000 jobs a month turn around.

The only president in modern history even going back 50 years with a balance budget, a budget surplus and payment of debt was Clinton. This was been the 2% were paying 39.6%.

Even the Republican God, the Great Communicator Pres. Reagan double the National debt.

To 3:38PM ~~ I don't know if you are 9:49AM, but if you are, your comment began with: "Blame the Republicans ... " In reality, you have such a short memory. You need to go back & review the campaign promises Barry made before he got elected to his first term. He promised unemployment below 6% ;) We're not even close. And adding insult to injury is the fact we have MORE people on welfare, food stamps etc. than ever before! As for those jobs Barry "created" the bulk of them are low paying jobs with few to no benefits. As for Clinton, the bottom began falling out of his record BEFORE he left office. The stock market was already heading south and Clinton policies paved the way for the banking/housing debacle which Alan Greenspan admitted "they never saw coming".

Find where Obama promised unemployment below 6%. You'll be looking for awhile because it never happened. Typical Republican lie. I know where the 6% number came from, but I'll let you look for it instead. Maybe you'll gain some wisdom.

SCATS said...

To 7:45PM ~~ There are numerous sources for this, all very easily found! Here's one:
"Today’s news that the unemployment rate moved up to 8.3 percent is as good of a time as time as any to revisit the promises the then-incoming administration made in 2009 regarding the economic stimulus bill. Back then they said the stimulus would have unemployment below 6 percent by now."

SCATS said...

I forgot to add this one which actually promises us it will be DOWN TO 5.3%% ;)

"Back in February 2009, the Obama Administration promised the American public that after their nearly trillion dollar stimulus too effect, the unemployment rate would drop down to 5.3% at the end of his first term."

9:49 seems to forget that Obama has been President for almost 4 years and unemployment has gotten worse, not better. People like him/her like to excuse Obama for his failures in many areas. Four years from now, will it still be someone else's fault when nothing changes?

Anonymous said...

7:45 is right and SCATS is once again wrong. Obama never PROMISED that unemployment would be below 6%, his economic advisors merely PROJECTED that it would be with the stimulus (while citing great caution that it is an estimate with huge uncertainties).

SCATS said...

To 11:45AM ~~ I must assume you are a politician to rely upon that sort of political double-speak in an effort to show a campaign pledge wasn't broken! Show me where Obama ever said "I project ... if you elect me" and feel free to fill in the blank with data about taxes, jobs, balancing the budget or whatever. Candidates don't talk in terms of "projections" they talk in terms of what they can do for you ;)

So far Obama has failed to do most anything he ever PROMISED starting with his infamous PROMISE of closing Guantanamo prison.

SCATS said...

Guess I really struck a nerve (based upon the juvenile responses which won't be posted). Just shows how much the truth hurts.

Anonymous said...

Truth or no truth... this ain't the place to discuss NATIONAL politics! Local stuff? Sure.

SCATS said...

To 9:49AM ~~ I'd say it's up to the person/s in charge here. Today, that would be ME ;)

Anonymous said...

Surprise, surprise! [grin] How about setting up one of your infamous "polls" asking "Should I be discussing NATIONAL politics on this blog?" You might be surprised at the results. (Note: If *I* am surprised, I'll be the first to apologize.)

SCATS said...

To 1:42PM ~~ It's not an issue of what YOU want. It never has been. Feel free to start a BLOG of your own. I don't get paid enough (and my helpers get paid even less) to put up with pandering to individuals with complaints. In fact, I don't get paid AT ALL (and neither do they, it's a labor of love) :) This BLOG, its contributors, artists etc. are all into it for community service. Feel free to not read any/all topics that rub you the wrong way.

Anyone sign an "Impeach Obama" petition? How about a "NY secession" petition?

Anonymous said...

Yeah, I didn't think you'd be interested in what WE might want to see discussed on this blog!

SCATS said...

To 3:55PM ~~ Believe it or not, nearly every request to cover a specific topic or ask a certain question has been fulfilled on this BLOG. The ones that weren't (only a couple) were about named individuals that had little to do with anything impacting the masses ;)

So instead of b*tching about what you don't like, suggest something! Leave the b*tching to us. We do it better lol

Anonymous said...

OK, I'll suggest something: Put up one of your infamous "polls" and ask: "Should we discuss national politics on this blog?" Will you accept my suggestion?

SCATS said...

To 9:11PM ~~ That suggestion was made earlier and responded to. As I'm sure you know, any poll asking what this BLOG should do will result in a negative result since the powers that be are beside themselves over the longevity of this medium.

Hmmmm, must be a Democratic conspiracy, huh?

To 4:29PM ~~ Doubtful.
