Greece Cop Bought Teen Drinks

WHEC -TV reports: "The court paper outlining the charges against Greece Police Officer Sam Ross is filed at Irondequoit Town Court. The "accusatory instrument" (as it's called) says Officer Ross gave alcohol to the teenager at at least three locations in the month of August.

Ross is facing the misdemeanor charge of "unlawfully dealing with a child."

According to the paper work, Officer Ross gave the teen "two drinks containing Diet Coke and Crown Royal Whiskey... while at an undetermined location in Irondequoit Bay."

(***Note: the teenager's name is redacted on the court document***)

Five days later, the paper work says Ross gave the teen "two drinks containing Citron Vodka" at Tilt Night Club on Central Avenue in Rochester.

Two days after that, the court document says Ross gave the teen "two drinks containing grape Vodka" while at "Shumway Marina."

The same document says Officer Ross had a "personal relationship" with the teenager.

Officer Ross is suspended with pay while the Greece Police Department conducts an internal investigation. He has been a police officer for seven years and has run the Greece Police's K9 unit for the last year.

Ross is scheduled to appear in Irondequoit Town Court October 23rd."

What is a "personal relationship?" that could be anything from a family friend to well . . . you know (potential groomee)

To 8:06PM ~~ How many family friends have you (or your family members) made by meeting someone on social media?? lol

Social media + personal relationship = potential disaster for a young cop's career.

Especially at the TILT (gay) nightclub...

To 3:03PM ~~ Call me psychic, but as soon as I heard about a "social media meeting" that was non-Facebook and knew booze was involved, I just knew it would be some sort of gay or bi-sexual relationship/attraction involved. Oddly, Sam claimed to have a girlfriend he was dating last year. Wonder if she is the one who complained ... you know what they say about a woman scorned ... ;)

Looks like time for Baxter to man up and do his dirty work. Keeping this young cop will be a liability and nothing more. We don't need more headline news of the torrid kind. We need cops that rise above

This story is beginning to take on a nasty tilt.
Has a guardian been appointed for Officer H Phydeaux?
What will Hunter's woof be on this whole issue?
Has Hunter been interviewed? Surely the FBI has an agent who can interview canines.

Will Greece become the first Department to hire a Canine Shrink to get Hunter over the tough times?
Is there Woofman's Compensation available for Hunter, or did Auberger forget to buy that coverage?

How long till poor Officer Hunter is assigned to hydrant sniffing to ticket dogs violating the Dog Law?

Will Hunter turn into a cat chaser?

clap for the woofman

Howard Handupme here with all the news Greece residents are fit to know, brought to you by a closed massage parlor.

Folks, really do you think this is the first Cop on Greece's payroll who is alleged to be light in the uniform shoes? It's nothing new, the last one is drawing a fat pension, and unless you knew cops you never knew he was different.

OK, so it's a little embarrassing for Canine Hunter, he can always go to Ellison Park where he isn't known and play with other dogs. Fact is other lifestyles are now acceptable under Civil Service Law, and if Hunter's driver is different, so what.
So he bought a few drinks for an 18 year old, no big thing really.

How many GCSD teachers did the same this week?

1:39 I agree no big deal and not a dismissal situation.Only convictions on felony charges would trigger an automatic dismissal . I expect a deal will be worked out with theDA by way of a conditional discharge. As a result of a internal investigation he would still be subject to summary discipline by Chief Baxter.

To 10:51AM ~~ I think the person you responded to meant what they said to be SARCASTIC ;)

As for the DA, Baxter has already involved her. She stated he can go to class & have his record kept squeeky clean. Baxter already framed this from the gitgo as "a mistake." I don't expect it will result in any harsh punishment at all since the Chief & DA both decided it was NBD before either of their investigations ended.

I was aware of the nature of his comment and in my comment I used his words to make my point . Thanks for the clarification .As you state it's a done deal as I knew it would be. Ross made a stupid mistake and is deserving of some kind of corrective action by Baxter.

All about Dollars & not upsetting a certain highly vocal subculture KittyCat.

here are one hell of a lot of tax dollars invsted in the dog Hunter, and they go down the drain if Hunter can't work. Hunter only works with Sam! That buys Sam latitude.

Then we gotta look at the 18 year old. Does he look like he might be 21? A bartender or 2 thought he did.

Finally we gotta factor in the homosexual community reaction. Sandy Baby considers them a support group for her next campaign, and damn sure has a few in her employ.
Special people get special treatment. Always have & always will!

This will go ACD with stipulation Sam gets counciling. GPD will slap Sam's paw.
EVERYBODY WINS, and it's a long time to Sandy's next campaign.

To 2:16PM ~~ Subculture!? LOL

As for the dog, let's not forget it was "donated" to the lucky men of GPD/Town of Greece. It's the training, food, vet bills, etc. we've "invested" in for a year or so.

Regarding the 18 yr. old ~ It is NOT the bartender's issue at this point, is it? If Sam is gonna hook-up with strangers from Grinderz or other such sleazey sites, then he best determine what's what & who's who BEFORE he goes bar-hopping, clubbing or whatever else he does to show-off his love trophy. He used poor judgement dealing with this kid, not a good trait for a seasoned cop! Aren't cops supposed to be able to size up people, their character, etc. after so many years on the job? Maybe he was too distracted by other "body language" to notice he was lied to.

If Baxter enjoys embarrassment, he let's this go. If he says what he means & means what he says about best trained & most professional PD, then this kid should be MADE AN EXAMPLE. His credibility as chief is on the line here.

Sandy and Baxter have a special relationship.

Baxter's biggest problem is finding out who blew Sam in (if he doesn't know yet) and silencing them. That's how we do things in Greece NY. Ask Hairberger.

They already know who the snitch is at GPD. There is more than one trying to earn brownie points. Sour grapes because he is constantly passed over when it comes to promotions. Scorned cops can be detrimental to society.

Anonymous said...

Ross knows who did him. It was a comrade looking to score points toward the next available promotion. It has worked before in this strange new world of law enforcement especially in Greece.Tts just the way it in theGPD.

SCATS said...

To 4:14PM ~~ What's THAT supposed to mean?

To 9:21 & 9:39AM ~~ So another cop snitched? Wouldn't this person have to witness him buying the kid the drinks? Obviously someone did since we know exactly what those drinks were. Wouldn't Ross have seen the other cop in the bar?

Anonymous said...

No. This cop would only need to have been told by a third party to get the ball rolling. This is an example of when hearsay will be given special attention especially in police related matters. as a whistle blower he would be protected.

9:39 AM

SCATS said...

To 2:39PM ~~ Again, whoever blew the whistle knew exactly what the drinks were, so someone at the bar or someone the kid talked to had to be involved it seems. Or maybe Sam was bragging to the wrong folks ... ?

Anonymous said...

Scats Correct!!! That is one of several senarios that could have happened. The drink information probably came from the bartenders when they were interview by investigators or the significant other told the cops what drinks he had.Or Ross supplied that information when confronted initially by superiors.

Anonymous said...

The bartender is indeed liable. There is so much more to this story SCATS.

SCATS said...

To 9:33AM ~~ Hey, it's Greece, so I'm sure there is! Just like I could feel in my gut that this person he met on social media was more than a buddy to hangout with.

Watch for investigator who is about to be out.......

SCATS said...

To 3:43PM ~~ A GPD investigator is losing his job because of this case??
