Bill Reilich Jr. Charged With Fraud

Accused of Collecting Unemployment
Benefits While Working

YNN Reports: "According to the New York State Department of Labor, the son of Monroe County GOP Chairman Bill Reilich, is facing charges of unemployment fraud.

William Reilich Jr., who is a Monroe County employee, is accused of claiming unemployment benefits from June 2009 until January 2010, in the amount of $7,700.

According to the Department of Labor, Reilich Jr, certified every week during that time period for unemployment benefits through the state's unemployment system, despite being employed.

County spokesman Justin Feasel says the county has not been notified about the charges, and would only confirm Reilich Jr.'s employment. He is currently working at the Greater Rochester International Airport."

Statement from Bill Reilich Sr., on the Charges Against His Son Bill Reilich, Jr.

"Regardless of the fact that my son is 31 years old, anyone with children knows you never stop being a parent. To that note, I am obviously greatly disappointed by my son's actions. I was only recently made aware of the charges against him and immediately upon being informed, my advice to him was to stand up and do the right thing. At this point in time, he has already made full restitution, and he will comply with whatever the judge asks of him."

"I would ask that his privacy, not unlike any other individual, be respected as he deals with his legal matter. As his dad, I will support him through this difficult time and support his decision to return to professional treatment for his gambling addiction as well."

SCATS ~~ Hey, Bill, you might want to ask him again about that plow accident ;)

What about the arrest in Greece last year on felony assault charges that the Chaiman covered up and got the GPD to bury. Feb. of 20011 with the 8 or 9 witnesses ... The 911 calls tell the whole story. Ugh. This is like 2 of 4 major uses with his son in the last few years. We have witnesses and statements soi suggests you get out in front of it or your goin to crush Maggie....

After reading the D& C does anyone still wonder why the Feds are investigating the crap that has been going on for years in this town and Monroe County Governments?
The more they dig the more they will unearth that the Brooks- Auburger connection has buried to cover up the corruption in Greece and the County.
This is long over due. Those responsible should be exposed and finally held accountable for the disgrace they have brought upon our community. Their actions have led to Monroe County being viewed as the most corrupt in upstate New York by others in this state, and Greece and its residence the joke of the five county area.

My friends, what is unfolding before our eyes is the evil dysfunction that goes with one party absolute rule A government lacking built in checks and balances by the electorate in Greece and the County is the breeding ground for corrupt activities to thrive without fear of exposure.
Under this form of government, the democratic process is severely compromised and not in the best interests of those they serve.
What we are witnessing is proof of an old adage , POWER CORRUPTS, ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY. The real blame for these failures belongs with us Enablers, the electorate of this town and county.

I agree that it is a good time to respect the desire for privacy. Just because Dad is a politician doesn't mean the children won't make mistakes or that we should pounce like vultures on the weaknesses of others.

What a statement by Mr. Big.

My kid is 31 so I'm not responsible. I didn't know about this. He paid restitution so he must be guilty. He's getting professional help because he is addicted togambling. But please respect his privacy. I didn't but you should.

Hard to believe with such a caring dad the kid turned out to be such a trainwreck.

To 4:22AM ~~ That's the first I've heard of anything like that. Who has witnesses & statements?? The cops in our "clean" PD??

To 10:01AM ~~ I hope they unearth the motherlode & get things spic 'n span around here. I could potentially retire this BLOG then!

To 10:25AM ~~ AGREED!!!

To 11:28AM ~~ Too late for that when his own father TOLD US ABOUT HIS GAMBLING ADDICTION while trying to cover his own backside ;)

To 12:40PM ~~ Don't you just love it? The kid will plead "not guilty" even though he has made restitution to a crime he must be guilty of (otherwise pay it?)!! By the way, I can't help but think that someone was hoping that by paying restitution at the time he got caught would maybe make this story go away ...? If the kid has such a huge gambling problem, did dad pay the $7700?

Honestly, I can't help but think that this is just more double dipping that got passed on to the next generation.

As a public figure, privacy is not a luxury extended to Mr Reilich. As a prominant political figure, if he sneezes too loud, it's news. It goes with the turf. Will somebody explain to me why relatives of the Monroe county establishment at one timeor another end up at the Airport as an employee when the heat is on.Its fast becoming the burial grounds for political liabilities of our local county Republican politicians. The same could be said for the Water Authority.
The SPOILS SYSTEM is a live and flourishing in Monroe County under Brooks and Reilich Inc.

SCATS said...

To 11:28AM ~~ By the way, do you REALLY think Bill Jr. could have landed all these local govt jobs (County transportation, Ogden Parks & Rec, Greece DPW, Monroe County Airport currently) if it weren't for his dad's political stature??? I believe it's called NEPOTISM and it is widely known to be a perk in these parts ;)

SCATS said...

To 2:24PM ~~ Good question! Speaking of the Water Authority, got my bill today. WHY has the address for payment been changed to a PO Box in Buffalo??

I know this isn't the place to post this new item, SCATS, but In fact, it is an opportunity to accomplish some positive in one bit of activity, if we can get the town of Greece and the GCSD on the same page.

Issue:
The GCSD wants to get rid of Barnard School and eliminate the need to maintain it.

The Town of Greece would like to expand the services offered to at-risk youth, the kind of services offered by Two Doors and PAL, etc.

Proposal: GCSD transfers Barnard School to the Town of Greece for use as a Community Resource Center. The building, as is, could offer youth after school activities like athletics, library facilities, other constructive activities and even, with Two Doors help, after school tutoring and help with homework.
Town of Greece "pays" for the building by providing School Resource Officers in schools, length of service to be worked out by the bean counters

Benefits: GCSD eliminates a building with its maintenance costs.
Town gets a facility to conduct the youth program without having to locate and pay for transportation to the Town Hall site. Town also eliminates need to watch another useful building torn down and replaced with business of questionable duration.
Town of Greece gets a Center in an area of town with many youth who could benefit from such a facility. Town also has extra police located in an area that could benefit from presence and visibility (even more than Maiden Ln)

Pres Reagan once said that
you could accomplish a lot if you didn't care who got the credit. I know both Town officials and GCSD occasionally read this blog: I am hoping that some on both sides of this partnership will see this as an opportunity to accomplish something very positive for our Town. SCATS, you could become a real catalyst for change if we focus on how we do it, and not on why we can't do it.

To 4:04PM ~~ You really need to make-up your mind about the impact of this BLOG (or absence of it as you previously contended) & then stick with it! You've accused me of egotism related to ANY claims that anyone working for the town, school district, etc. ever reads or pays attention to anything posted here. Now you claim I could impact things & be a catalyst for change because they sometimes do! lol

By the way, Reilich reads the BLOG. He told us so in his interview this last week ;)

Bill if you really read this it's time to quit before the house of cards collapses. Get Jack to quit while you are at it.

Don't know who you think I am, SCATS, but I do think you can have an impact. I don't think I have accused you of egotism or suggested that people do not read this blog. My proposal is meant in good faith and with the honest belief that someone may read it on both the school board and the town government. My only hope is that somehow a building owned by the town of Greece citizens ( in their support of the GCSD), can be used by the town of Greece citizens (in their support of the Town of Greece) for some good.

To 404 you're delusional . Don' t sing us that catalyst for change crap. Heard it one too many times. What you're asking has already repeatedly been proposed and denied, or buried too many times to count in this fine town. The FBI needs to investigate GCSD. Begin by checking into how two OLHS students made it on TOP of the 390 overpass last spring and were walking across it in broad daylight. GCSD already has a Family Support Center anyway.

Disappointing that the first reaction to an honest proposal (with a potential win for both sides) is why we shouldn't, couldn't, wouldn't be able to do it. Sad and perhaps that pessimism is one of the problems with the town.
Hope your proposal is seen with someone with vision, 404.

In George Orwell's book 1984' he described the world of Big Brother watching all us. He was on the right track about our future but his timing was off by 28 years or so.
Make no mistake, today Big Brother is watching us and in particular the Town of Greece and Monroe County in the form of the Feds.

There is no doubt in my mind that they are very interested in the comments posted on this site especially if some of them square with what they know as well as give them a new direction in which to go.

With this in mind, I would advise those who post on this topic to act accordingly as Big Brother is watching and reading.

4:04 Nice try!! Your attempt to end the comments on this topic and concentrate on another area, has been noted.
You are obviously an establishment type .Your attempt has been given the proper attention it deserves.

SCATS said...

To 9:46AM ~~ I would NOT doubt that at all! In fact, I'm able to see which are the most viewed topics/threads and lately, many are from 2008-2010. Certain specific topics seem to be getting lots of hits, too, including a couple related to GCSD.

404 Save the worthless banter! You must one of those pie in the sky types.who networks with no one but residents.of this political cesspool, or you are some administrator trying to rid yourself.of some of the students you cannot handle.

11:06 I can think of many things the FBI could investigate about the past dealings of former superintendants and board presidents. But two idiots on a bridge ? I don't think so.
Under Walts and Phelan, the district was a close second to the town when it came their engagement of one conspiracy after another. They could have a field day if they looked into some of dealings involving a couple of lewd conduct arrests, a bankruptcy, A one week extension of a departing superintendants termination date and a judge's settlement of the bankruptcy. This is the kind of stuff CONPIRACIES are made of and the Feds would be interested in taking a look at . No smoke here!! A BLAZING INFERNO, would be more appropriate . By connecting the dots, a clear case of a conspiracy to cover up by tampering with public records and fraud in the expenditure of public funds would be uncovered.

My apologies, Scats. I already apologized for interrupting the post at hand, but I didn't know where to post the suggestion about Barnard School. Sorry to disappoint your bloggers but I am neither a politico nor a school administrator. I am just a person who pays taxes to both GCSD and the Town of Greece and would like to be able to move our Greece- citizen-owned property to a productive use.
SCATS, if I ever dare to post another suggestion, is there a way I can send it without interrupting the diatribe at hand?

SCATS said...

To 2:04PM ~~ You mention "two idiots on a bridge." Explain what you are talking about, please. I agree about GCSD conspiracies.

To 2:27PM ~~ You don't need to apologize, or to worry. You can post it like before, or email it to me at: cannedclams@aol.com

I believe someone mentioned that the Feds investigate GCSD by investigating how two students climbed the Top of the 390 over pass bridge those are the idiots I was referring to.

SCATS said...

Regarding the "Two idiots on a bridge" ... my BLOG about that incident was NOT from "last spring" but from Dec. 2009. The link is below.

11:06 Canyou be more specific about the alleged conspiracy you describe in your post about the school district?

Anonymous said...

5:45 Not a chance ! However, if your interested in connecting a few of the dots I mentioned, might I suggest a course of action.
First, get hold of a copy of the '07 Comptrollers Audit of the district. Second, foil for a copy of the Limited Forensic Audit done in the wake of the APAC Construction foul up
This audit was done by the CPA firm, EFP, Eldridge, Fox and Proietti. If you look carefully, both audits are critical regarding questionable expenditures of public funds in one particular area. As for the remaining dots, you DO NOT
want to know.

Bet your buddy Jim isn't taking this news too well. He was hoping for a cushy job with the Greece GOP.
