Why Do We Pay For The Big White Tent?

And All Of The Activities
That Take Place Beneath It??

The Great White Tent, ya know that reminder of the times when the Circus played under the big top over there in front of Town hall.

Sunday there was a concert/singalong scheduled for the TENT. Along came Thunder, lightning, Mother Nature and the people putting the concert on moved it into Town Hall. Good thinking.

Th question is though, why the hell are Greece taxpayers paying for that damn tent? Doesn't seem more than a mile to a gigantic enclosed (at least till wind blows the walls down) mega performing arts center paid for by TAXPAYERS. There's even a rumor of a $100,000 piano living in a climate controlled room.

Seems like when GCSD was scamming the public to vote to build and pay for the arts center there was plenty of talk about community use.

Instead of people sitting in comfortable chairs in the performing art center, more tax money is blown on a tent so people can sit on rented chairs that ain't comfortable unless it rains.

Seems like Greece taxpayers are getting screwed twice!    8/06/2012 3:25 AM

SCATS ~~ More than twice!! We're footing the bill for all sorts of catered events that occur beneath it too!

Show us the bill before you feed us a line of pure BS. But of course you can't because it's just more of your lies.

actually the seats in the Performing Arts Center are less comfortable than sitting on a cheap folding chair. Unless you are the size of a 2nd grader.

Do you want people to move to this community or not? You are all pathetic pieces of crap for complaining all the time.

To 1:50PM ~~ Now, now John!! You could get that info very fast & easily, if you don't already have it. I'd have to FOIL it and play games with the wording, delays, etc. John, don't you have some other "work" to do ... like raising our taxes or firing anyone who speaks ill of you?

To 2:22PM ~~ True enough!!

To 3:47PM ~~ Hmmm ... we let YOU IN didn't we? lol

To 8/06/2012 1:50 PM ~~ FYI, yesterday my neighbor brought over his invitation to the 16th "annual picnic" for the Citizen's Police Academy. If you conservatively figure 25 people each year for 16 yrs. then it appears the Town of Greece is prepared to feed around 500 people (you can bet lots of cops and politicians will be there too lol) under the big white tent for free. I say conservatively because some years there were multiple groups of "Citizens" assembled. My neighbor says Forest Lawn has provided the food the years he attended, more than basic hots and watermelon. Think of the costs of the postage, paper, envelopes and employee time to organize this event too. Just one of dozens every spring/summer ;)

It's simple. You pay. Why because John says you have to because he's in charge and your not. It's a question with an obvious answer.Besides, he and the rest of town republican officer holders know, that the Big White Tent always translates into votes on election day. No mystery here!!

Greece ... Discover the Circus Tent?? lol

FYI the tent is donated as well as the food.

For someone who claims to know all, you are so misinformed.

To 2:48PM ~~ SHOW ME! I'm pretty certain that Forest Lawn doesn't "donate" picnics for 100's to attend.

Why not publish ALL the comments SCATS so we can actually have a discussion on this topic?

To 12:24AM ~~ Comments that contain swearing, bullying remarks, name-calling, etc. don't get posted, as you already know. FYI, the comments NOT posted contained NOTHING that would promote discussion anyway. So feel free to start one :)
