The plaza looks amazing. 100 times better than the vacant eyesore that was there. Job well done.

To 1:38PM ~~ It was reported in the Greece Post a few weeks ago. That was the first time, AFTER THE FACT, that I heard about it. Others I've mentioned it to had no prior knowledge either. Where were the meetings announced? Posted? Held?

To 2:04PM ~~ I agree it LOOKS GREAT ... now. Maybe we should take some "before" photos to compare with a year from now.

There was a meeting on the changed routes several months back I saw a notice but it was not well publicizes

To 11:22AM ~~ Twice a year, only for new underwear or socks ;)

To 2:55PM ~~ Closed, clubby & corrupt strike again? lol

do you ever have anything positive to say? Now I see you ragging on the US olympians for not singing along with the National Anthem. You find a negative in everything, now that's sad!

Should have seen what was busses and dropped off at the new OA today around noon! It was out of control parents parked where they please and kids behaving and looking like they in Da Hood! If I had not needed to drop off a form for registrayion I would have avoided it!

To 5:13PM ~~ Too bad you can't be factual & don't have the nerve to respond on FB where I posted that lol

Actually, what I posted on FB was: "OK, now that Team USA won the gold for women's soccer, I'd like to see them actually SING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM during the medals ceremony. Other countrie's medalists sing. The US medalists seldom do, sad."

After they DID SING IT, I posted: "THEY DID IT!!!!

US teams SHOULD sing it EVERY TIME, period. My BLOG, my opinion, my freedom to express it :D

To 5:20PM ~~ Details, please? What event was this for?

Additional detail to OP @5:20 it must have been a summer school drop off point. Not one student came out of OA but rather off busses. There were cares all over in fire lanes, music blaring and bass pumping and Im not exaggerating. It looked like a smaller version of the liberty pole at school dismissal. The foul language and lack of concern for other cars was beyond frustration. Not for nothing 6 cars were all decked out with 20 inch rims and so on and the little darlings with all their swagger hopped in and cruzed away. They may need remedial school but dang the could be in any fashion magazine.

Let me get this straight. The stated purpose of this sight is directed at bring positive progressive change to Greece.Right? Well Blogmaster , don't look now but your train has left the station and jumped the track. I have yet to see any positive ideas put forth to improve the image og Greece. I see nothing but regressive attitudes that are stuck in reverse posted on this site by you as well as others. Nothing but negative trivia seems to the main theme here.Nothing to suggest that some people are concerned about our image but only interested to continue to confirm what most people in other towns think about our town and it's residents.
It's important to remember, people from other areas of the county follow this site. As one of my relatives told me the negative D&C reports are bad enough but comments on this site appear to be self destructive and defeatist in content. Scats who ever you are, I think it's time to reexamine the spirit and intent of this site and excentuate the positive when we can and once and fall all stop bring up topics from the ugly past.

To 6:41PM ~~ Re: "I have yet to see any positive ideas put forth ... I see nothing but regressive attitudes that are stuck in reverse..."

Then you haven't paid attention!! This site was FIRST to suggest the NEED to close down several schools ... LONG BEFORE the powers that be admitted to any need. This site was the FIRST to say it was time to reign in our out-of-control athletic teams and supporters.

I could go on & on, but I won't waste my time or energy with someone who thinks Walmart's opening (scheduled for next week) is a "topic from the ugly past."

SCATS said...

By the way 6:41PM ~~ Whatever happened to your recent multiple "threats" about a "competing" BLOG coming to town that would put this one to rest?? I'm still looking forward to that ;)

I'm sorry but have always been pro Walmart. It's great for the Dewey ave corridor as far as attracting small businesses to this area instead of the Ridge. I don't think that is ugly at all but your obvious racist comments and those of others intend to make it so you should be ashamed to call yourself responsible unbiased human being with your obvious disdained for Blacks
As far as your comments about closing of schools, that concept was proposed long before your scandal site crawled out its way out of the mud of the original Site.Sorry but you can't take credit for that concept as being a product of your self styled infallible wisdom about the happenings in this town. Don't get me wrong, I think you very well informed but when it comes to actual documented knowledge of the inner working of the infrastructure and politics of this town , compared to me you are woefully out of your league. Trust me. It will all be in the publication when available
I plan on providing you with a personally autographed copy when available .

To 8:36PM ~~ I think it's pretty funny that you give SCATS credit for such widely read topics about "our ugly past" but in the next breath CLAIM (with absolutely NOTHING TO BACK IT UP) that I'm "out of your league" on things such as school closing ideas! You forgot to tell us about the upcoming BLOG that will compete with SCATS. But I know there IS NONE, right?

PLEASE SHOW ME MY "RACIST" COMMENTS."

Again, you can't, because I have said NOTHING racist here ;)

"Again, you can't, because I have said NOTHING racist here"

Do more white or black people live in the 10th ward?

SCATS said...

To 10:53PM ~~ I have no idea. I have friends who still live there. Their neighbors are black, white, Hispanic, Vietnamese ... that I'm aware of. Since when did "10th ward" become a racist phrase? Does this mean we can't say "10th ward" any more??

If there is anything that scats does, he or she brings about the topics that should be talked about in the "city"of Greece. Greece has grown from a suburb to a small city with all the trappings of a city. You will have good sections and you will have bad sections. When I look at Greece the constituents think it is a small suburban town with no crime and little news but what you have is a small city, one with all its problems of gangs, violence, and drugs. We are a CITY!

To 11:25PM ~~ Thank you for your support :)

If memory serves me correctly, Greece was viewed as being problem-free during most of Rahn's years, too. We all know how that turned out ;)

SCATS, of all the 23 wards, why did you choose to refer to the TENTH? Please explain. Thank you.

SCATS, I'd like to put in the first request for you to host a photo gallery on your blog where we can submit our photos of "Greece People of Walmart" when it opens! Blahahaha! ;)

I stand by my remarks about your racial bigotry. It's indeed unfortunate that some people can't read between the lines and other share your attitude. As far as you being out of my league I was referring to my knowledge I have accumulated over the 50 plus years I have lived in Greece and my numerous involvement in town issues which are based on personal experience and not second information and rumors that turn up on your site. As I once told you before, these incidents are well documented as to date, times, and those involved by me. I lived them . Some of the issues I will bring out about this town dating back to 1960, will make the Rahn scandal
Look like child's play in comparison.
I will concede on one point. School District and School Board issues of which you most definately exceed my knowledge given your back ground.
As far as your reference to a blog site, it's my understanding is that the intended blogger suffered a death in the family, sold her house and moved out of state to lives with her children . So you can rest easy, not to worry, you will not have a competitor as far as I .know.

To 9:06AM ~~ The retooled bus service eliminates certain routes and expands on others. The route from our new Walmart down Dewey Ave & through the 10th ward is one of the biggest. It's as simple as that.

To 10:26AM ~~ Are you volunteering to provide the pics? Send them in for consideration. It might be fun ... esp. if we could catch any local "celebs" out shopping for fresh Fruit of the Looms lol

To 11:30AM ~~ So in a few short weeks, you've gone from threatening me about my ability to keep this BLOG going due to a coming competitor to saying that person has SOLD THEIR HOME & MOVED AWAY??? You don't have to tell me to "rest easy." I always do!! lmao

BethAnn and her 2 sisters made a recon run over to the Walmart in Brockport & Gates so they could get the lay of the land so to speak and be ready for the opening of that new one over to Northgate. What I understand of all the woman shopping talk they figure they can hit the door with a 3 prong attack coordinated by cellphone and get every dang bargain in that new store. There's even talk of taking one sister's motherinlaw along to ride one of them shopping lawn tractors Walmart provides so the old gal can cut off competing shoppers. I tell you all this woman shopping is like a combat operation back when I was in the Army. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed nobody gets stampeded. They even have Fred on standby with the big pickup, just in case.

I'm glad I gotta work the day of the Walmart opening. They're taking our boy Accord along with his bicycle. If they got room in the truck he can ride back on the truck, if not he pedals. He's going to look into a job at the Walmart, figures his Greece Central education will make him a good candidate for working at the Walmart.
