Greece Lawyer Arrested

With Daughter of "Wife Swap" Couple

(James Doyle ~ Mugshot)

From YNN:   State Police arrested Rochester-area attorney James Doyle and charged him with DWI and patronizing a prostitute.

State Police say they received numerous calls about an erratic driver on the Thruway near the Clarence service station early Monday morning.

Troopers found the vehicle parked illegally at the Pembroke service area
.
Investigators say James Doyle was slumped over the steering wheel. Alicia Guastaferro (link added by SCATS ~ her parents were on "Wife Swap"!), 20, was also in the car. She told troopers Doyle gave her a fake ID and bought her alcohol. She also told investigators that Doyle pays her for performing sex acts.

Police say Doyle refused a field sobriety test and he was charged with driving while intoxicated, patronizing a prostitute, and unlawfully dealing with a child .

Guastaferro is charged with criminal impersonation, prostitution, and possession of a controlled substance.

Doyle was arraigned and troopers say Guastaferro will appear at a later date.

SCATS ~~ OMG!! Did Chief Todd run ALL of the hookers out of Greece so now you gotta drive to Buffalo to get one?

So Doyle claims he was just "resting" at the rest stop with a 'family friend and this is all a big misunderstanding. What an idiot. He must live in a fantasy world if he thinks anyone on this planet believes his story. This guy does not know when to shut his mouth.

According to Channel 10 news tonight this is his 3rd DWI. I hope he gets the book thrown at him. No more special treatment by law enforcement and the courts!

This story sounds like a real mess. If convicted of all these charges could Doyle be disbarred for this?

To 7:28PM ~~ Just to be clear, I believe they also said he was convicted previously on REDUCED charges, not for felony DWI.

To 8:01PM ~~ Good question.

Coke is mentioned along with some prescription pills. Paxil etc, Not a good mix with alcohol 3 drinks and paxil is potentially fatal

To 1PM ~~ Please show us WHERE you found reference to that! I saw no such mention. I did read that valium & Paxil were found in small plastic bags, which means they were no longer in the pharmacy container to show WHO they were dispensed to. ALL Rx meds are to be used ONLY BY the person whose name is on that pharmacy label ;) It's the law.

It is buried in there and easy to miss. Look on page 15 of the file It says "before walking in SP Buffalo voluntary statement
ALICIA: He deals with coke too, but I will take a pee test that I don't"

To 2:40PM ~~ OK, thank you. Just to be crystal clear on this, the mention is made on pg. 15 of the court/legal paperwork in the link posted. The statement made is quoted correctly by 2:40PM. We do need to remember that she did not say he was using coke that day/night AND that she is in a whole heap of trouble herself at this point. If they are such "friends" why is she throwing him under the bus with that statement? Hmmm ...

This girl does not need to throw Doyle under the bus. Doyle threw himself under the bus.......driving drunk as witnessed by numerous passing motorists and in a car with a 20 year old passed out at the wheel. Then he proceeds to do interviews with all the news people to try to convince us it is all a big lie. What a moron.

To 4:50PM ~~ My comment about throwing him under the bus relates to the fact that she VOLUNTEERED much info she wasn't asked to respond to. The comment about him & coke was one of those instances. WHY say anything? WHY volunteer anything? In fact, she may have implicated herself in other areas since she obviously has knowledge of activities that are illegal, but seemed to have nothing to do with the Thruway incident.

I found the info in the link below to be most interesting & eye-opening ... given that a seasoned lawyer in DWI law such as Doyle did himself no favors under the laws related to DWI.

There is a bit of ironyhere . Doyle is a well known fixture at the Greece Town Court. The bulk of his practice comes from Individules accussed of DWI. All the judges and ADA's are familiar with him, This fact makes it easy for him to wheel and deal the charges down to DUI . Easy money for him. Now again as was the case twice before, he finds himself on the opposite end of the system. This time he has a much bigger problem because of the other criminal charges. Anyone know any good lawyer joke that wound fit this debacle.

To 6:41PM ~~ How about this one:

Q: What's the difference between a lawyer and a prostitute?

A: A prostitute will stop screwing you when you're dead.

i'll be here all week. Try the veal.

To 10:38PM ~~ I don't get it. Veal in jail??

Scats: This is an old cliche alluding to a third rate comdedian or entertainter at a cheap dive who is asked to push a slow dish. It has nothing to do with jail. In other words don't quit your day job. It's just a harmless tease comment about your bad lawyer joke

To 6:33AM ~~ Just an FYI ... I didn't write the joke about the lawyer & the prostitute ;) But I do think it's both funny and apropos.

Since you didn't like my previous lawyer joke, how about this one:

"A lawyer was filling out a job application when he came to the question: "Have you ever been arrested?"

He answered no to the question.

The next question, intended for those who answered the preceding question with a yes, was "why?" Nevertheless, the lawyer answered it "Never got caught."
