Karen, you got $700,000 for 10 min of torture. That's $70,000 a minute..more than Bill Gates earns in the same amount of time. Why don"t you give $100,000 to the fund for medical care for the folks in Colorado? You will still have more than enough to live the rest of your retirement on and you can do REAL good with money that dropped out of the sky for you anyway. Just saying...

Karen's lack of follow through and failure to do her job rewarded her with $700,000. She should ease her guilty conscience and donate a huge portion of it to the the unfortunate young victims in Colorado.

my sister is a friend of Karen . She told me that Karen does not read this site but is a aware of the poisoness venom Bering directed at her on this blog. She feels sorry that some people feel thi s way but $700.000 is a powerful antidote for this kind of poison.Lets face it, the fact remains that she,s got it and you don't . A fact that just drives some Individules nuts.

Can we please stop beating this dead horse? No one forced anyone to donate, they did it out of their goodness. Looking at this blog, one would only assume that the milk of human kindness has curdled, and it's something in you that did it. Are you selfish, are you jealous, are you just irritate that people wanted to make her life better?

To 7:29PM & 8:56PM ~~ I wonder if Karen is aware that even more people spoke out against her on other sites where public comments can be left? I hope she looks at the D&C, Facebook, etc. It could be a HUMBLING experience for her ;)

I'll bet there is NO ANTIDOTE for her soul in knowing that she 100% FAILED TO DO HER JOB and would likely have caused a lawsuit against the district should any child ever have needed to rely on her for help, whether against a bully, or during an emergency on that bus.

Let's face facts: FEW PEOPLE FELT THEIR KIDS WOULD BE SAFE IN HER CARE!That speaks volumes more than anything I can say as an individual. It certainly out-shouts the money.

As a taxpayer, we are ENTITLED to have able-bodied employees (she wasn't even in possession of her basic health!) in charge of our kids. We've footed the bill for her ineptitude for 20+ years. Thank God that's going to be in the past!!

If I were in her shoes, I would want to be able to hold my head high, look squarely in the camera & tell everyone that I did my job to the very best of my ability. Of all the things she has said, that one is notably absent from the list ;)

PS ~~ Sudden fame & fortune has a way of magnifying an individual's personal problems in dealing with life's challenges. From here forward, she's got an even higher mountain to climb.

How could you dare to judge her performance as a bus driver for 20 years. What facts do you have to prove that.I suspect nothing at all so this statement about her performance as such is not supported by fact or personal knowledge on your part, not even creditable speculation. As far as your statement about able bodied employees I must agree. However, in this district it is difficult to recruit people of that caliber to low paying jobs and even more difficult to retain them in these positions because of the crap they have to take from those on the bus but even worse the restrains placed on them by those in charge of transportation. It is simply not worth it if you hope to retain ones dignity in the face of a job that you are not allowed to do properly.
This is true not only in transportation but in the school security ranks. Here again, as a security guard you are literally hand cuffed by those in charge and the rules of engagement which change routinely depending on the circumstances and those involved. The turn over in this area is a consistant process because they receive zero support from administrators too cowardly to back them up when they take positive action to guarantee the safety of our students. I can say this from personal experience . BEEN THERE, DONE THAT.

To 9:57AM ~~ How could I dare? MAYBE BECAUSE I KNOW WHY SHE QUIT DRIVING 3 YEARS AGO ;)

Think about it ... people rarely go from a position where they've built upon their union salary over a 20 year "career" to one that pays only $15,500/year ... at least not willingly!

What mountain? She can now hire someone to climb that mountain for her. You are obviously referring to under achieving people who suddenly win the lottery. It is true that the sudden wealth does present problems for some winners. However in her case, given her age, her obvious physical challenges Idoubt seriously that this will not be in the cards for her,Obviously if nothing else, it will DEFINATELY improve her quality of life from a financial stand point . I don't. Know about you but I would like to have to deal with a sudden windfall regardless of its implications.

To 3:32 & 3:37PM ~~ let's see ... COD means "Cash on Delivery." COPD means "Cardio - Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder" ... a very serious & debilitating disease which a very good friend of mine died from at a very young age. Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't have it :)

To 6:25PM ~~ What mountain?? LOL!!!!! If you listen to any three of her interviews back-to-back she answers the exact same questions with THREE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANSWERS!! On the first day of this story when Captain Chatterton addressed media about filing charges, his statements were clear that she was having great difficulty even staying consistent with "her story" of what happened on the bus. And that was after she watched the video!!!

As for improving the quality of her life, that will greatly depend on how much her "friends" & relatives manipulate away from her. Her fame has NOT changed her talent with being victimized.

A fact checker is needed on this, but I believe the students being "disciplined" for the Karen Klein bullying incident are currently being bused to school (to a re-engagement or bridges program in Greece Central). So, instead of just suspending these students off the bus for a year and not providing them with transportation to Athena (making it the responsibility of the parents, which would make sense), the taxpayers are paying for transportation for these students to an alternative school. If this is true, Greece Central's "punishment" makes absolutely no sense. I would love for People Magazine to cover this part of the story - discipline at its finest.

To 1:44PM ~~ You are correct from all appearances. Someone dug & found that GCSD has created a "re-engagement center" at the old West Ridge Elementary School facility. The boys will get counselling, do community service, attend classes & have their academics monitored. If they "perform" to standard, they might get to return to Athena in the spring ... making their "punishment" less than the actual advertised year.
