Things Are Really Bad When ...

A local TV station relies on a radio station to get the "news" about Greece!

From 13WHAM: Greece Home Invaded By 3 Armed Men

Greece, N.Y. – A home on Mt. Read Boulevard was invaded by three armed men early Thursday.

The three broke in about 12:30 Thursday morning according to our news partners at WYLF AM Radio--they’re described as black male teens.

They escaped in a waiting car.

They got away with about $300 cash, two TVs, jewelry, and other small electronics.

They were last seen on McGuire Road.

If you have any information, please call 911.

SCATS ~~ Yup, we've become the 10th ward! Who says gangs aren't active in Greece??

This is the home of a former Greece teacher. She told me she left the district due to mental health issues a few years ago. I don't think this was a ramdom act, many strange things occur at this residence at all hours of the day and night. And at any given time any number of young adults are residing at this residence. I know first hand because I live in a very near neighboring home. The goings on there gets very scary at times

You flatter us by calling us the 10th ward. Heck we're more like the 17th ward of Clinton and Hudson variety. Do not go out at night. Lock up your house. Maybe we see why people have pit bulls as guard dogs.Warning- racist comment: The 19th ward that is mostly one race is improving in safety compared to the 10th and 17th and Greece. Maybe they are redlining to keep whites out and it's working.

The last time I looked channel 13 and WHAM were media outlets. They are supposed to report the news I'm sure they got the info from a Pd news release. Scats is not. I'm perfectly ok with getting the news from them. I don't see the problem. Could it be the you feel you and your site should be accorded the same consideration s from the GPD. Believe me,Chatterton is the public information officer for the PD and you would be the last person he would even give you the time of day.

To 10:46AM ~~ Another media outlet is now saying a couple lives there. To say it's "not random" implies what exactly? It doesn't calm my nerves.

To 10:51AM ~~ Interesting idea. Another racist remark: As far as I'm concerned just because someone has white skin doesn't mean they aren't "trailer trash." That's a term I'm hearing used much more often to describe Greece residents.

To 11AM ~~ SCATS got your panties in such a tight bunch that you didn't READ the posting for meaning lol ;)

13WHAM (the TV station) got the story from WYLF, an AM radio station.

You know Scats, I check your site every so often and really can't get over how much you hate the Town of Greece and the school district and police as well. You really have nothing good to say about anything related to Greece. Just so you know, there are other towns that are experiencing the same issues as Greece. Not sure if you know but, ghetto Irondequiot and East Rochester to name just 2 (eastside by the way) are worse that what I see in Greece. There isn't a Town in Monroe County that isn't experiencing some crime issues, look at Brighton with all that has gone on in that Town. Another know fact. The eastside had more homicides than the Westside in the last year. I believe 7. Either way you really need to get a life and try being positive for once. Being so negative will takes years off your life. I'm done with your website and will never visit it again.

To 12:49PM ~~ You bring up the Town, the schools & the PD. Then you try to make a point using homicides in an East Side vs. West Side comparison as your example. If you were to do that using school districts, guess what you'd find?

Have fun with your head buried in the sand, especially now that things are REALLY heating up ;)

It's interesting how little attention has been given to this topic of the home invasion. Did anyone notice a house was broken into with the people right there? Is anyone concerned about that? Was there a statement from the police? Was this targeted or random act of opportunity? Usually they assure us we don't need to be concerned because it was personal against the victims. But is there a drug business going on in that house ? Should we be concerned about that? And we all know drug dealers get an even bigger tax exemption than churches. They don't even have to claim their profits because it is all illegal. Yes I am the one that was complaining about the tax exemptions for the church owned land worth millions in Greece. Whatever. It is still getting more dangerous to live here.

To 10:41AM ~~ If I'm not mistaken, isn't ignoring the situation and NOT communicating about it with the public a throwback to the Merritt Rahn way of conducting business within GPD? But then the truth is that GPD is STILL RUN BY AUBERGER!

It is dangerous. But we have so many churches to pray for us. And our town meetings start with a prayer. So we shouldn't pay any attention to the violence. Our meetings have been starting with a prayer for the last 12 years at least. And things have improved so much? No scandal, no tax assessor scandal, no police cover-ups, no murders of mistresses of town government, no police chiefs leaving in disgrace,no robutrad work on another mistress house by the sea, no world attention about foul-mouthed children bringing to light the inadequacy of base level school staff. No, none of that around these parts. We pray it away. Then we bobble-head vote yes on both our boards.

To 1:54PM ~~ I'm not sure why, but reading your comment caused me to recall Klein's quote to YNN News about the punishment: "I was happy, it satisfies me. I definitely think it was because of the media attention. If the boys didn't take the video, no one would have known. I'm glad I didn't tell the driver to stop the bus. I'm glad it happened, because it's not just these kids," Karen Klein said."

She's GLAD she didn't do her job!

And she's really glad about the money. If she had done her job that windfall wouldn't have happened either.
Picture this. Boy is seen by monitor (who is actually looking at the students on the bus and not just out the window) taking recording of activity on the bus. Other boys start to insult the monitor, maybe trying to bait her. She walks to the front of the bus and tells the driver or uses her radio to inform the driver (or whoever they inform). The driver stops the bus and the 2(adults) of them proceed to the area of the bus where the student has the camera and tell the boys to cease and they write them up. Would that video go viral? Instead she says she didn't ask for this and shrugs her shoulder in a "who cares" manner (YNN interview) as she says the Greece administration said she didn't do her job. If she had she would have been a whole lot poorer and not been on those talk shows. If she had planned it, it couldn't have gone better than this for her.
