Not only am I disgusted that she is missing but they put a first year principal on the news with Deb Hoeft! Come on this is wrong!

The superintendent should be the one in front of the media. And the police chief should also. Why are they so afraid?

SCATS said...

To 2:09PM ~~ Chief Todd can't speak if Auberger won't let him ;)

As for Babs, this is a ridiculous neglect of her duties, IMHO.

Will Julia call her to task? Isn't this one of the main responsibilities of the superintendent - to be the face of the district? I don't care what "appointments" she had - nothing was more important than this press conference!!!! The whole country is looking!!!! Maybe she is still partying from last night?!?!

SCATS--As I said in another posting (I know you must be bombarded today), I originally voted for Babs. But that was before the MIA. Can you backout my vote please. Thanks!

SCATS said...

To 2:23PM ~~ Or sleeping it off? Is it true she was with the head of GTA?

To 2:27PM ~~ I did read your previous comment, but forgot to respond. Once a poll is posted and a vote has been cast, I can't change anything other than the end time/date. Sorry. I don't know if it works for you or not, but if I vote I'm able to CHANGE MY VOTE later. Have you tried that?

It was stated at the press conference there are 3 videos. Has anyone seen the other 2? Will the district release them?

SCATS said...

To 2:33PM ~~ They were posted on Youtube along with the other one yesterday. I saw the links, but only watched the main one. I don't think DO controls them. Perhaps a Google or Youtube search is in order ;)

Dear GCSD...

If your hands are tied by education law as it seems to be spun at todays press conference make a change! Open a closed school for students just like these and the many others that are disruptive, disrespectful and un able to conduct themselves in a manner that does not interfere with the learning or well being of those that attend or work in public education. If you open a school for just these types of situations the students are still receiving a free public education and there fore "your hands are untied" !

Wake up GCSD this is why there is decline in enrollments and families moving out. It is the perception and reality that the GCSD code of conduct is worth nothing more than bird cage liner. WE pay millions of dollars to a staff that has so authority. The power is with the few that continue to bring our community down. Expand bridges move it to WR or KR you may not be able to remove because of Education Law but you can MOVE to another "special school"!

BTW given the age restrictions for criminal charges and how many of the kids with vulgar language and physical issues are 2-5 this district NEEDS a clear cut plan with a predetermined outcome for such behaviors.

Therein lies the problem with figure heads hired into positions only to be a puppet...puppets are useless without someone speaking for them. Our BOE is scared to death of this situation, and not coincidentally Babs has nothing to say. What happened to our "down home, doors always open, y'all come on in" Supt.? She's been a joke from day one, why should it be any different now?

SCATS said...

To 3:35PM ~~ They could at least tell us what the STANDARD PUNISHMENTS are for: swearing, threatening, inappropriately touching, menacing, insubordination, etc. But that would mean GCSD would have to be consistent and have these already spelled out. They don't care for either.

SCATS said...

To 4:26PM ~~ Like I said a year ago, she's the BEST we could after TWO NATIONWIDE SEARCHES??

Anonymous said...

Are we REALLY supposed to believe that only 50 bus incidents occurred this year DISTRICT WIDE? Wake up call to the parents the issue that you call in about and happen daily are not being recorded or dealt with. At our school alone we have 3 suspensions for bus issues.

I am outrage that Deb could not acknowledge that there is a problem district wide with lack of respect at all level of education. DO stop telling us about he opportunity to talk with our children when clearly then problem is that the GCSD fail to even acknowledge truthfully that there is a problem!

oh and one little tidbit we had and aide at our school physically assaulted was documented witness by multiple staff and the student was not even given In School Sus. So there Deb Heoft the district is not prepared not functioning as it should.

Oh and the all staff is trained is laughable...as the monitors lunch staff and aides...aske them how much PBIS training they got this year...ZILCH

SCATS said...

To 7:23PM ~~ I believe only 50 were ever written up because, clearly, people have given up trying to get anyone to take these little tyrants to task!

I wish people would be more careful looking for typos and using punctuation. I'm not trying to be the grammar police, Lord knows I make mistakes too, but some posts are unreadable.

I think it's a disgrace that this superintendent is nowhere to be seen when the entire world is looking at this district under a microscope.

I never liked her from the search process, and I like her even less right now.

The search group made a huge mistake appointing her. I think we're in more trouble now than we were before she came on board.

In our time of need? Are you serious? Quit being so melodramatic. You sound like a little child. Are you hanging from a cliff or are you trapped in a burning house? Wow, pretty sad.

Anonymous said...

Every time I see a video of Deb Hoeft she has her head down, reading off of a prepared (by whom?) statement. You think someone that educated could speak with a minimum of notes.

SCATS said...

To 10:03PM ~~ When disaster strikes, our highly paid Supt. is out-of-the-district spinning her wheels with union bigwigs. We pay her to be in front of the cameras at such times, despite the fact she keeps telling the BOE she's not worth as much as they want to pay her.

If I'm being "melodramatic" then please explain why Uncle Auggie came out into the daylight to speak to the national media. I doubble dog dare ya to justify his presence and her absence from a national/international media event related to SCHOOL DISTRICT business. It's just plain unjustifiable AND dysfunctional. Even more dysfunctional are people who try to support her in it. They call them "enablers."

To 10:57PM ~~ ALL of them read canned statements. Typical of our dysfunction.

Our fearless leader Barb makes no bones about the fact that she gets what she wants by stroking the egos of the GTA and the board. She brags about it especially when she is in her partying mode. She also prides herself on never getting involved in problem areas. She makes her subordinates present the idea so if it fails, she stays clean.
So why is it a surprise that she was not out front on this? She had to see how the dust settled. And since she has bought off the board with expensive little gifts and parties, they remain quiet on her cowardice. Great leaders all of them.

SCATS said...

To 8:59AM ~~ I heard she's been VERY COZY with union brass this week ... while GCSD falls in the national spotlight. Way to go, Barbie!

Anonymous said...

Let's knock off the demeaning unsupported statements about the actions of th e Superintendant and union leaders. This third party I heard" crap is nothing more than rumor mongering at it s worsts.
It only serves to make a bad situation worse something this site is prone to do.

SCATS said...

To 10:12AM ~~ "Unsupported?" LMAO!! My sources are VERY reliable and ALL in agreement. Otherwise, I wouldn't have posted it ;)

Anonymous said...

To 10:12 AM - I agree that we have no idea if she is with the union folks or not. However we ABSOLUTELY DO know that she has not been the public face of this for the district. Not at either of the press conferences. SHAMEFUL. What do we pay her 200k for?

Anonymous said...

Has anyone checked the lawyers office. It is usual when something happens BABS can't conrol thats where she runs and guess who pays that bill. I am still confused on why she was not beside Karen on the news saying to her that the district cares and we will take care of matters and maybe just a litle hug in the end. No its more like she probably will find a reason to get rid of her, that is her system.Babs showed up to the Lyndonville School end of the year party. Apparentley she feels that people there still enjoy seeing her.Lyndonville can't get rid of her and Greece can't find her, how ironic...lmao

SCATS said...

To 11:59PM ~~ I'm sure she prefers Lyndonville to Greece. She has her mansion-on-the-lake nearby in Lyndonville. Truth be told, she wasn't all that far away this week, just conspicuously absent during the district's biggest crisis.

Anonymous said...

Aside from the incident that took place this last week the next big story is "where is the Supt.?" how can you in a time of need, the district's biggest PR disaster , be anywhere else? If i was the BOE i would rescind her contract and put Deb Hoeft in charge for the interim. If she is allowed to get through this untouched she will make a mockery of this district, not that she hasnt done it already.

SCATS said...

To 7:21AM ~~ Who wrote Hoeft's script for the press conference? It struck LOTS of folks that our "leaders" (cough, choke, hawk) were unable to perform without a paper to read from. Then there was Chatterton who was such a nervous Nellie in front of the BIG cameras ... or was it having boss Auggie watching over his shoulder with those shifting little beady eyes that made him all twitchy like those gals in Leroy ?

Anonymous said...

How can you say BDW is "with" the union when she laid off 13 more elementary teachers than she had promised in the budget?

SCATS said...

To 9:23AM ~~ I didn't say with the union. I said with UNION BRASS. Also, you are making assumptions about WHICH union/s I meant ;)

Anonymous said...

"About 100 people" at the rally last night. Greece, your problems have only just begun.

SCATS said...

To 10:16AM ~~ Actually, I think a case can be made to show that this "problem" has been a VERY LONG TIME COMING! It's the culmination of years of ignoring the base issues, playing politics and pitting different factions against each other over schools-of-choice & other things that outrage the taxpayers. In other words, the culture of Greece leadership has gone a long ways in breeding this response that exhibits gang-like behavior.

Can't wait to see how long before we're back to talking about our "Safest City" status. No matter how Chief Todd adjusts those stats, the entire world has seen us for what we've really become: apathetic, but seething just beneath the surface until it boils over next time.

The lawyer did and Greece is paying mega bucks for the lawyer bill. She does NOT sneeze or breathe without the lawyer O.K.
She would even get the lawyer to check anything that she has to put her name on.... you really should check the lawyer bill for this past year.

SCATS said...

To 1:30PM ~~ I'm not sure if you posted on the correct thread ...?

Babs showed up in a picture with Joe Robach on his Facebook today

To 1:32PM ~~ TY for the info. I shared that pic to my FB page ;)
