Here is my annual prediction regarding today's school vote
last year I predicted 4000 and was almost dead on.
This year " the shami" predicts 3700. Now that''s out of 58000 eligible voters. Conclusion!, WHO GIVES A DAMN!!!

To 10:04AM ~~ I think fewer will vote than you predicted, possibly lots fewer.

I voted at Buckman Hights at 8:00am and there was a total of 8 voters including mine since 6:00am. I'm with 10:04AM on the vote totals. I voted NO, No and bullet voted for the Grinnan.

Lord help us if either of two kids get voted in. If this happens....Hang on to your wallets cuz the Teacher Union will be wining and dining them all the way to a new lucrative contract!

:518. It makes no difference who get elected The union can do all the the dinning they want to no no avail. Board members really have little control of what goes into a new contract. They simply vote to approve or reject a contract presented to them by the Superintendant. in either case it takes 5 votes..This is actually a no brainier as the district will never present a proposal that contains any kind wage increase with out major offsets in the benefit package. The union will never agree to this resulting Ina continuation of the present stalemate. The reasons, the district can't afford it and our teachers are more than adequately compensated especially in light of their record on student learning. The other, the teachers don't have to give an inch as their six year old contract guarantees no changes in terms and conditions of their employment until a new contract is agreed to In what century do you suppose that might ever happen?

5:18...I wouldn't worry about any new contracts. There is no money for them. Next year will be worse and it's not just Greece. You'll see this in many districts across the state.

5:18 your vote for Ginnan was a wise vote. with hits election,we will witness the end of the quickie no questions asked board meetings. This man will be asking all the questions not asked by other board members and then some. The board will finally have a member committed to one duty of a board member,Financial Oversiight.

5:18am, great job with the age discrimination. One of the candidates is even an admitted strict Conservative, so why do you automatically assume the younger candidates will be in the pockets of the Teacher's Union?

Ditto 5:18's votes for me. No, no way and candidate #3 bullet vote.

It's time for BIG CHANGES!!!!!!!!!

I saw on the news tonight that Greece was just one of three districts to NOT use the old style voting machines. I bet they love the confusion the new method creates.

What confusion. It can not be any easier than filling in a circle. If you can read you can vote and lets be real if you can use an ATM you can slide in the voting card.

Confusion...if anyone is confused they probably should not have drive to their polling place GEESH

To 7:10PM ~~ These kids are still too closely tied to the classrooms to be able to think clearly about what's going on with money, budgets, taxes, etc. Since it appears neither of them has ever had the privilege of paying a property tax bill, I bet there's a disconnect between reality and their perceptions.

From the WHEC-TV website: "The old style lever handle voting machines were being used today. The Monroe County Board of Elections says school districts had a choice. Some like Webster felt the older machines would be more comfortable for voters. Fairport, Greece and Spencerport used the newer optical scan machines."

Apparently, it DOES matter ;)

The Shami....right on the $$ man. Let's hit Vegas.

The Swam's prediction was wrong by 500 votes or so. The reason for the larger than predicted turn out was because voters committed to certain candidates for the board turned out ths year to bullet vote for their choice
If I were BABS, I wouldn't be to be to thrilled with a 2 to 1
Approval of her budget considering the total vote count was4300 and some change. hardly a mandate in which you could hang your hat on regarding community support for your performance.
As I said before 54,000 voters stayed home. so WHO IN HELL GIVES DAMN in this fast becoming regressive Town of Greece.JUST GIVE ME MY WEGMANS and I'm happy..................
