Is Auberger Healthy Enough To Continue Serving?

Anonymous said...

SCATS this is a bit off topic but there is a rumor around that our supervisor is again suffering from health problems. As you know he had a stent put in a few years back and now word has it that he is again suffering chest pains. Since he is our town supervisor his fitness to serve is an issue of concern for us. In fact fitness to serve is part of he job description, it a written town policy if I recall correctly.

Anyone have any solid knowledge about this that would elevate it above the status of rumor?

Over the years there have been various statements circulated to indicate that Auberger is not really in the best of health. So exactly what is the state of Auberger's health? Candidates for the presidency or other offices have to disclose health records. Greece citizens deserve to know if there is a problem.    4/03/2012    10:23 AM

SCATS ~~ My understanding is that Auberger missed the last Town Board meeting and the audience was told he was "excused" but not given a reason for his absence.

Please remain in your vehicle and move along. There is nothing to see here.

A good dose of Hairball Grease has been administered to the Stupidvisor and he'll either cough it up or pass it through.

Minders have confiscated the big jar of Viagra from his private office.

Do we really want to see his health records? We may all puke with all those std's on record.

I don't know about the heart but Auberger looks more and more crochety and old to me. Aged before his time. He should quit quit fir this and many other obvous reasons

Wow, some of you really are amazing. 4:42, you might want to be very careful with your snipey remarks. And as far as having the "right" to see his health records - REAALLLLLY? Ever hear of HIPAA? The Town Board has a "right" to obtain information from a medical professional that he either "is" or "is not" fit to serve in his capacity as supervisor in accordance with policy or his contractual agreement or whatever. Being able to view his health record is entirely different, and even if your tax dollars DO pay his salary, it's simply none of your GD business. Consider if YOUR employer who pays YOUR salary wanted to view details of your health record -- yeah, get it now? This town never ceases to amaze me. Seriously.

Even money says he resigns well in advance of Maggie 's run for congress for obvious reasons Remember, this is not some funky local position she is seeking. This election has nationwide ramifications. As such she will be fair game for the Democratic National Committee. Her character and past indiscrections will be thoughly vetted and exposed. Trust me there is a ton of negative baggage attached to " our " Miss Brooks " her past relationship with our " stud"supervisor when she was in the County Legislature. Is sure to be an issue of character and morality.

The National Democrats will do anything necessary to retain thatseat in the House. It 's bound to be nasty.

To 7:52AM ~~ And this Town with its self-absorbed politicians & their dysfunctional band of protectors never ceases to amaze me either ;)

I'm not sure it is a matter of seeing his private recirds, but of an hinest disclosure by Auberger or the boardof important health issues if they exist. IF the US President for example had cardiac related issues we would want to know.
Some time back then British PM Tony Blair underwent a procedure to correct a rapid irregular heartbeat, THat was made public.

Does any body really care????

Interesting post. Rumors of elected's health are definitely a topic for discussion. Louise Slaughter is also rumored to be very sick, worse that a heart issue that can be addressed with a stint or bypass surgery.

Now that all of Greece is located in the new 25 Congressional district, we should also call for a thorough and public physical fitness test for her too.

She's been in NYC for several days with a supposed broken leg. I broke my leg a while back and was out of the hospital that same day. Why is she still in the hospital then if she's so fit as a fiddle then?

Just like with Auberger, there are a lot of rumors going around about how sick Slaughter really is. Hmmmm.....

I notice when an issue comes up that is threatening our local republicans try to deflect the issue. Its always someone else that is the problem. I don't see any way that Slaughter is relevant to the topic at hand only as an attempt to head off discussion. This leads me to think that Auberger is really sick.
PS A stent or surgery clears a blockage it does not cure the underlying heart disease

To 10:23AM ~~ If you read the comments posted here, YES!!

To 1:06PM ~~ Very true! Divide & conquer ... deflect & resist ;)

I can'' believe the complete lack of compassion expressed by you by some of you mental midgets that post here. There could be serious conditions involved with Mr Auburger. These of course are personal in nature and nobodies business except him and his family. As far as his responsibiltities as supervisor his first duty is to his health. Having said that if indeed he has a serious condition that would interfere with his duties and aggravate his illness, I believe he would do the right thing for himself and step down as supervisor. It would foolish on his part to do otherwise.

Asfor the orthopedic broken leg specialist, it would be wise for you to consider that persons age when breaking weight bearing bone s such as hips etc is in it self serious for an 82 year old woman and recovery time is obviously bound to be longer with more complications requiring a longer hospital stay.

SCATS said...

To 3:27PM ~~ I'm absolutely fascinated by your belief that Auberger "would do the right thing for himself and step down as supervisor"!!

Did he "do the right thing" when he testified about GPD? NO! He did NOT!

Did he "do the right thing" when GPD was doing a murder investigation involving a victim he'd been having an affair with? NO!! He did NOT!

Does he EVER step in front of the camera and talk to media himself? NO!! NEVER EVER!! He has "I am him" do it for him!

Does he ever openly discuss town business in a public setting the way he is supposed to do? HELL NO, NOT EVER!!

So please, explain to us so we can understand why you "believe" in Auberger's morals/ethics. I double-dog dare you to ;)

Scats wise up. WheniI said he would step down I was referring that he would do the right think for himself if continuing to perform his job would be detrimental to his survival. To do otherwise would stupid. I think that even you faced with a potential life and death situation would opt for self preservation options. Why in hell would he or for that matter any one in his position " Give it up " tor the idiots that live in this back ward thinking town. Try showing a little humility here instead of hateful comment about the past which are not relevant to the point I was making.

To 4:04PM ~~ You want me to "wise up" when you can't hit spell-check? lol

Scats That response is not worthy.of someone with the all the answers. I guess I met the socalled double dog dare standard as your response was laughable at best. At any rate I guess I made my point and you could 't do any better than to criticize my grammar. As far as I 'm concerned this conversation is over. However, feel free to have the last word if it will make you feel better.SCORPIO!

Again all this chat about auberger hating misses the point. Our political leaders health can effect us. If you have studied ameican History you know that the extent of Woodrow Wilson's stroke was concealed from the public with serious consequences. Who knows how much Dick Cheney's heart problems had an effect on his judgement. Both the effects of some heart medications and the tendency toward depression can effect mood, Many people observed that over the years Cheney had become a different man, During the Bush presidency Cheney was increasingly an ill man on the verge of terminal heart failure. He didn't step down he became Darth Vader.
Why assume people are strictly rational calculators of interest. That's unrealistic. They have emotions and feelings like we all do. An ill Auberger could become Greece's Darth Vader.

6:47 Where have you been ? Auburger is Emporer of the evil Empire.(Greece) Calling him Darth Vader is a gross under estimation of his power in his little universe called The Town of Greece.

Someone recently came to my door asking If I would sign a petition for Maggie Brooks; I laughed and said, "Sorry but I rather see her directing traffic in a culdesac".
The woman then says to me; "Is everyone in Greece against Maggie?"

My reply was, she has as much baggage as our Town Supervisor and they both should not be running for any office. Neither have no standards when it comes to honesty and integrity.

Scats I responded your post in which you criticize my grammar. However you didn't.post it or you never got it so I will repost.

It was a pretty weak response on your part as you never dealt with contents of my response to you double dog dare to explain my defense of Auberger's RUMORED health issues. I can only assume that I met the double dare burden as you never responded in any way to my explaination of my position other then to refer to my spelling As the master of all come backs on posts you don't agree with or directed at you, I think it would be fair to conclude that my explaination was right on the mark and you understood and agreed with the substance of my response. I choose to believe this as fact unless I here otherwise.

By the wa y and for the record, I am no fan of Auberger. I think he has brought disgrace to our town and destroyed it 's image as a great place to live and raise a family. While I believe that at the time of all the scandals he should have resigned. However, dictators don't resign, they have to deposed. During the 2009 election the voters had a chance to retire him. Instead in spite of all baggage, they reelected him for another four years.Even though he won by about 400 votes he took that as vindication for his moral and disgusting unethical behavior. So I ask you, who ultimately is responsible for us to be branded by hisl legacy of ultimate corruption and betrayal of trust which has brought continuing disgrace to our once proud town. I think the answer is obvious.

To 11:22AM ~~ After your heads up, I found your other comment had landed in the SPAM folder. This week, BLOGSPOT changed the format of the pages where I moderate comments, etc. and I now see it's no longer obvious when something is in that folder. I'll have to be more diligent in posting SPAM in the future.

You are free to "conclude" whatever you like, but I couldn't disagree more. Based on most other comments posted here, I'm not seeing any outpouring of support for your position either. Are you?

Anonymous said...

@1:06 PM, How do you know the person who brought up Slaughter is a republican or is trying to misdirect the discussion? The answer is you don't. In addition, if your argument is that someone who brings up Slaughter's sickness and broken leg is nothing more than a GOP trick, then by your logic, bringing up Auberger can be construed as trying to keep the discussion away from Slaughter and her illness.

You see, neither makes sense.

You can't only talk about one's party's health issues if you claim to be fair and honest. Slaughter could represent Greece is she wins and her disease could affect her ability to govern just as much as Auberger's could affect his.

It's either an issue of concern for both of then, or neither if people feel it's no big deal.

Anonymous said...

Again deflection. The blog post is not about Slaughter and it is not about creating an equivalence between Auberger and Slaughter. That has no logical bearing on the topic at hand. The only point of the equicalence claimn is to shut up the critic without evaluating her claim on its merits. If you want to create a post about Slaughter on your blog or some other one feel free. No one is stopping you from raising this issue. Otherwise try to learn some of the rules of cogent argument.

Scats check your SPAM folder again I responded to you 11:22 post and it has yet to be posted.

Seriously folks, Auberger was on vacation during that time of the Town meeting. All of this BS with the comments above, get a life people Scats

To 7:11 "Only now do you understand. Use the dark side Luke."
We always forget about the real power behind Vader which was the emperor. I don't think any of the people working in the Greece Town Hall are that powerful.
But it's fun to imagine that. Who would be Leia? "Sister?!" No never.

SCATS said...

To 10:09AM ~~ Maybe if Auberger ever stood up and addressed the press and/or the community instead of hiding behind Katherine Firkins there would be no reason for speculation. Name any other community around here where the top leader NEVER GOES ON THE RECORD? Even the Mayor talks directly regarding City issues. This is part, a big part, of Greece's dysfunction ;)

I guess since there's a person posting here who doesn't want anyone to talk about Slaughter's disease on this thread, can you (SCATS) write another post about Louise's illness and how she's fallen twice and injured her self pretty badly in the last two month's? SCATS grants both sides a little leeway but I guess we have someone who REALLLY, REALLLY wants to chance the subject when Slaughter comes up.

Anyone here can keep talking about Jackie Auberger if they want (no one is stopping you!) but many of us also feel Slaughter has some obvious issues that will make it difficult for her to run her campaign and keep leading in her position.

It's not a democrat/republican issue. Heck, run Joe Morelle or Bob Duffy for the position. Slaughter should fulfill her current term but consider not running again. She did a fine job but it's time to move on to another chapter in life.

That's all I'm saying and it's a legitimate point, despite what that one person thinks.
