Is New Greece Thunder Hockey Player Ineligible?

Anonymous said...

Memo to Babs and Mr. Gianotti, do the right thing and shut this group down before the game. Webster has already been made aware that at least one of your players is ineligable, along with others that should be. Even if the thunder win they're going to have to forfiet. Mutiple members of the boe have knowledge about the situation with this newest Athena student. Time to be leaders.

SCATS ~~ After the disturbing behavior and expletive-laced verbiage spewed by teammates this week, who could believe they wouldn't try to cheat, too?

BLOG Administration will be FULLYING ENFORCING RULES in determining which comments will be posted.

Name-calling, bullying, expletives, spamming with the same rhetoric dozens of times, etc. may be deleted without comment.

These test words we must type to send a comment are almost illiterate

Scats? New player any more info you can share is it grades or other that makes them ineligible? Thanks

To 3:21PM ~~ I just looked & it appears that BLOGSPOT has made that change. If it becomes too much of an issue, let me know & I'll see what I can do, if anything, thank you!

To 4:25PM ~~ I've heard nothing more as yet.

It's prob the in school suspension. How can a student have that on a wednesday yet play in a game on Friday? It's not like it was detention, it's freakin one step from being told he can't even be on school grounds. Throw onto that the stuff he was bragging about w/ his phone, referring to the teacher as a bitch, ect. What the heck is the point of having a code of conduct if it's not enforced? So a kid is already serving in school suspension, then elects to break another rule by using his phone while there!? His parents aught to be charged as criminals. Maybe the captains family can pile back in here and tell us all again that these are really good kids.

Don't look now but I think more and more people are starting to miss Steve A. This lady has got no balls!

To 3:21PM ~~ I removed that feature at least temporarily. It really is pretty tough to read.

Tough to read SCATS, surely you jest!

All I needed to do was grab my magnifier, and call the neighbor to come over and read it. Admittedly I have a vision issue, but the damn audio thing that was supposed to deal with vision issues didn't work at all.

To 12:14AM ~~ Sorry, but it's something I can only control by turning it on or off. I may have to turn it back on depending on how many spam comments start coming in. Time will tell.

To my knowledge AL has not been removed from the team by the administration, therefore, I will take it further up the ladder.

 Observe all rules, curfews, and eligibility standards established by the school and
my advisors/directors.

 Show respect for all school employees and students in my school and the District.

 Be a role model of good conduct in school, at rehearsals, performances, meetings,
activities, and within the community because I am a highly visible member of the
student body.

 Refrain from disrespectful, profane, and vulgar gestures and language.

Failure to abide by any of the above results in a minimum 1 game suspension, according to the Athena web site. GO THUNDER!

To 5:27AM ~~ The students know the rules and policies are mostly just for show. This is another perfect example of the adults not saying what they mean, or meaning what they say. GCSD is broken.

So that might mean the ones that swore about school and the strict teacher and tweeted during school would each have a 1 game suspension?

Anonymous said...

Can this Gang change it's name to THUGGERS and at least have some honesty?

Anonymous said...

Looked through the the stats, turns out AL didn't play. Too bad they had to have their feet held to the fire for them to make the right choice this time.

Anonymous said...

They were never going to play him anyway. No one on this site has my respect and they talk about things they have no business thinking about.

SCATS said...

To 12:19AM ~~ What are you? The thought police? lol

Of course they were going to play Grimshaw.

Anonymous said...

There is no way Grimshaw was going to play in the Webster game.

Anonymous said...

Well if he was already not going to be allowed to play due to the "iss", then I would imagine his conduct while there would have him booted for good.

To 4:03PM ~~ Maybe in some other district. This is the Greece Central SPORTS District where bad behavior is rewarded with trophies, dinners, awards, etc. ;)

Did you happen to catch the o'brien kids tweet meant to pump up thunder nation... Classy kid. No wonder mom is so proud!

SCATS said...

To 6:36PM ~~ I took a look. No surprise there. It appears being part of the Greece hockey team equates to acting like trailer trash and talking like a moron.

From what I remember ISS, detentions, etc. prohibits a student from participating in extracurriculars on that day only. Some coaches will bench a player the following game for missing practice due do ISS/detention, but it is not mandatory.

SCATS said...

To 9:02PM ~~ Maybe if the ISS is for Tweeting expletive laden cheers for the team it's OK ;)

Anonymous said...

9:02 if what your saying is correct, that is a sad commentary about the district, period. "iss" is basically one step from being told a kid can't even come onto school grounds. The issue with this kid is his behavior WHILE serving his iss, it compounds the situation. His follow up online where he calls a teacher a bitch and admits knowingly breaking more rules is pathetic. No rules at home and even less at school.

None of you guys know what you're taking about and is all false. And thats a fact. The players read these and laugh at all the false crap you guys right and only motivates them more. They actually get a kick out of it haha.

SCATS said...

To 7:33PM ~~ And those who read barely intelligible comments such as yours get a hearty laugh too. You epitomize the mentality of those who elevate sports above academics and most anything else of worth.

Anonymous said...

Maybe these kids are just playing the sport they love? You probably don't understand why hockey is different from other sports. And the funny thing is most of these players are scholar athletes. Wouldn't you say you would be bullying these kids by talking trash about them on some website being anonymous?

SCATS said...

To 3:19PM ~~ WHY is hockey "different?" We already know they had a coach who got away with the unthinkable.

Calling this group "scholar athletes" when they behave more like thugs is part of the mentality that keeps GCSD in the headlines for behaviors that are shameful.

"Trash talk" is what they do on their Twitter accounts. Check it out. Racism is alive and well.
